Invincible Martial Artist from Foreseeing Opportunities
Chapter 76 - 75: Wind Rises and Subsides, Celestial Stele Outside the City
Upon exiting Mandarin Duck Tower, Xu Guang also saw the blood-red mist soaring into the sky. His expression shifted slightly. Without time to overthink, he blew a whistle, and a large bird soon flew over.
He gave a brief command, and the Messenger Owl flew off again. Letting out a small sigh of relief, he dashed toward the plaza.
Soon after, he spotted a group of "well-organized" red-eyed people emerging from the streets and alleys. They were walking purposefully toward the plaza.
What was this?
Xu Guang thought of the living dead parasitized by the Alien Insects. The Yellow Heaven Sect had made their move!
Yet, Xu Guang became increasingly certain that he was merely a chess piece. Perhaps if he hadn’t shown up that day, Yang Sha still wouldn’t have securely taken the Marshal position; someone else would have challenged him anyway. Because Duan Jue needed to give people an opportunity.
At Luanyun Tower.
Wang Ming held a saber in one hand, protecting all the family members behind him. His eyes were bloodshot and brimming with killing intent.
"Let’s go, we’re heading into the Inner City!"
The saber in his hand had long been dyed red from the slaughter. Blood cooled at the webbing of his hand, turning into a sticky, slippery substance clinging to his palm, but he couldn’t care less. Hai crouched low, guarding in front of Ji Xiaolu to bring the young girl a sliver of security.
Ji Xiaolu was restless, glancing toward the arena from time to time. "Brother Guang... Brother Guang hasn’t come back yet."
Brother Cheng stood within the crowd, fiercely protecting Cheng Lian’Er. She turned and comforted Ji Xiaolu, "Don’t worry. Xu Guang’s current strength is even a bit greater than Eldest Uncle’s. He will definitely be fine."
Ji Xiaolu uneasily hugged Mrs. Xu’s arm.
BANG!
Xu Guang sent a Blood Eye undead monster flying with a single kick. He stepped up to the group and looked at his family, a smile breaking across his face.
"Let’s go home."
"Lord Xu, what happened outside?"
"Yeah, I saw that the city’s Three Guards were suddenly deployed, and there were terrible explosions and blood-red clouds overhead. What exactly is going on?"
Many people naturally recognized Xu Guang, who had just displayed his Divine Might on the stage, and hastily shouted their questions. However, there were also quite a few Feiyun Guard soldiers on alert nearby. Although they were not Xu Guang’s subordinates, they wouldn’t allow just anyone to approach him.
"There’s no need to worry, everyone. Just wait here peacefully," Xu Guang replied.
He then looked at Cheng Lian’Er and Brother Cheng, who had been helping Wang Ming, and cupped his fists. "Thank you, Miss Cheng," he whispered.
Cheng Lian’Er had a good impression of Xu Guang, but his constant eagerness to distance himself from her made her uncomfortable. Thus, she let out a rather aloof harrumph and quickly left with Brother Cheng.
Xu Guang didn’t say much more, simply committing this favor to memory. Then, he stood in place, as if waiting for something.
WHINNY!
Accompanied by a horse’s piercing cry, a carriage pulled up beneath Luanyun Tower. Pulling it was a massive cyan steed, a full size larger than an ordinary horse. Beneath its cyan-white coat, its incredibly robust muscles were covered in mysterious patterns, looking as though they were layered with fine, dense scales.
Xu Guang turned to his family with a stern expression. "We will enter the Inner City first."
Everyone looked at the sudden arrival of the carriage in surprise. This steed was far too majestic. The Feiyun Guard soldiers prided themselves on being well-traveled, but even in the military, such a fine horse was a rare sight. Perhaps it was gifted by Lord City Guardian. They could only sigh in their hearts, marveling at why a man like him could become a Marshal.
Paying no heed to what others thought, Xu Guang led his family onto the carriage. He then vaulted onto the shafts himself to drive the horse forward.
The mission entrusted to him by the City Guard’s Mansion had been completed, and he had taken his revenge along the way. All he needed to do now was protect his family.
The cyan steed trotted down the streets, while Hai sprinted low to the ground, tearing apart any red-eyed people that dared to come near.
Suddenly, Xu Guang turned his head, only to see that the surrounding large buildings were already packed shoulder-to-shoulder with people.
He realized, "Someone is spying on me." Xu Guang was very certain of his intuition.
Sounds of slaughter continuously echoed along the road. Screams of "Murder!", "Run!", and "Man-eaters!" could be heard everywhere. Even though the cyan steed was already an Exotic Beast comparable to Skin Grinding Mastery, navigating the corpse-littered roads remained fraught with difficulties.
Anxious, Xu Guang could only wield his Big Spear to sweep aside the corpses blocking their path. Fortunately, they were very close, and the carriage soon arrived before the main gates of the Inner City.
However, the entrance was already blocked by a sea of people, and the Feiyun Guard would not let anyone in casually.
Wang Ming, sitting on the other side, asked in a low voice, "Erlang, what do we do?"
Xu Guang’s expression grew heavy. "Let’s observe the situation first."
He watched as the Feiyun Guard soldiers defending the city gates staunchly refused passage to the frantic crowds. The sheer mass of humanity before him made him realize that unless he slaughtered everyone in his way, there was simply no way to squeeze through.
But he was no Demon; he wasn’t that ruthless. Moreover, a thought suddenly arose in Xu Guang’s mind: was the Inner City truly safer?
He turned the horse around. Thinking of Duan Jue’s confidence, he said to Wang Ming, "We’re going to find the City Guardian."
Wang Ming’s expression shifted, and he hurriedly replied, "This morning I saw the City Guardian leave the Inner City. He should be over there."
Xu Guang drove the carriage in the direction he pointed, simultaneously calling upon the Searcher in his mind and inputting a prompt.

One day was far too long. He froze for a moment, selected "Yes" to cancel, and modified the associated words, changing "Detailed" to "Brief."
The time required dropped to three hours.
He let out a sigh of relief. Three hours was still acceptable.
When the carriage passed by Lin Zi, Xu Guang suddenly stopped. A figure had appeared before him—Song Tao. He was covered in blood and dropped to one knee the moment he saw Xu Guang.
