Invincible Martial Artist from Foreseeing Opportunities

Chapter 75 - 74: If You Don’t Die, How Can My Hatred Fade?

  • Next Chapter

Xu Guang had no words, but the fury within him burned like a wildfire.

"Improper behavior?" What a flippant phrase. With just two words, she wanted to gloss over her past slaughter of innocent lives, as if, in her eyes, deigning to apologize to him was already a rare grace.

Xu Guang had no desire to waste words on a woman who held herself in such high and mighty regard. He suddenly dashed forward, his long whip dancing in his grip. The flesh between his eyebrows split open, revealing a Blood Eye that seemed half-open and half-closed.

Divine Might!

"Between you and me, the only way to extinguish this hatred is through death!"

Xu Guang discarded the long whip, and a three-foot blade of cold steel appeared in his grasp. Under the suppression of Divine Might, Han Qing fell into a trance, frozen like a statue.

In that instant, memories of his father’s five years of bedridden suffering flashed through Xu Guang’s mind. He remembered how his father had woken up in agonizing pain a total of eighty-seven times during those nights, vomited blood nine times, and attempted suicide four times just to avoid burdening the family. He decided, "Let’s make it an even... one hundred strikes."

The blade in Xu Guang’s hand moved incredibly fast, its gleam filling the air.

In the blink of an eye, Han Qing was reduced to a bloody mess. Her face was twisted in terror, seeing the man before her as an absolute demon. Little did she know that years ago, in Xu Guang’s eyes, she had been the demon. Everything happening now was simply the tables turning.

Xu Guang finally admitted to himself that after getting married, he had grown a bit too tender toward women. He only slashed her a little over seventy times before finally stopping. Too much blood had been spilled, and it was all his blood.

SWISH!

Han Qing’s severed head flew into the air, her face plastered with indignation and disbelief. Her beautiful features were twisted with immense resentment and regret. A hand grabbed her long hair, and the head dangled and swayed like a rubber ball.

Blood sprayed wildly from the headless corpse. Xu Guang despised Han Qing, but he did not despise her blood, because, after all... it was his blood.

Xu Guang walked down the stairs expressionlessly, carrying Han Qing’s head in his hand. Except now, Han Qing had lost all of her former aloof elegance. Like anyone else whose head had been chopped off, her face was hideous and terrifying.

The Maid nearby let out a piercing scream.

A figure leaped from the wall of an adjacent building, clearing several meters in a single bound. After a few nimble jumps, the person landed at the foot of the Mandarin Duck Tower. He immediately saw the head dangling in Xu Guang’s hand. On the large white wall behind Xu Guang, four words were written in fresh blood: *Blood for blood!*

"Miss!" the man in green let out an earth-shattering cry.

Xu Guang held his Big Spear.

THUD THUD THUD!

A flurry of footsteps echoed from outside the building as hundreds of figures emerged from every corner of the alley, completely surrounding the mysterious man. This man had rushed back in a hurry. He looked to be around forty years old. He seemed to harbor special feelings for Han Qing, as he was now acting like an absolute madman, actually attempting to fight his way out of the Feiyun Guard’s encirclement to behead Xu Guang.

The military array was not just for show. He was not one of the Abnormal People, nor did he possess an invulnerable body. Under the siege of nearly three hundred Feiyun Guard soldiers, including dozens of Bone Forger Martial Artists, he could not hold out for long. In just a few moments, he fell into dire straits. Yet, he turned a blind eye to it, even abandoning all dodging and defense, swearing to kill Xu Guang.

Seeing this, Xu Guang simply obliged him with a thrust of his spear. Amidst the dense cluster of Feiyun Guard Weapons, the Big Spear pierced through everything.

For the first time, Xu Guang got to enjoy the privilege of using numbers to his advantage. The suppression that a military array exerted on a Martial Artist’s vitality was truly terrifying. Killing was also truly simple.

Pinned to the Big Spear by Xu Guang, the man stared fixedly into Xu Guang’s eyes, his face as venomous as a vengeful spirit. "Duan Jue will definitely die today, and someone will avenge me and the Miss!"

Looking at the madness of the man before him, a hint of suspicion and surprise appeared on Xu Guang’s face. He wondered if, unknowingly, he had become Duan Jue’s pawn. But whether he was a pawn or a player, his great revenge had been exacted today, and nothing else mattered.

After the mysterious man died, Li Xiao’s gaze subtly swept over the large bloody words on the Mandarin Duck Tower before he dropped to one knee without a shred of hesitation. "Greetings, Marshal Xu!"

All the Feiyun Guards behind him did the same. "Greetings, Marshal Xu!"

Watching this scene, a smile tugged at the corners of Xu Guang’s mouth. He thought, "Han Qing, didn’t you love using your power to bully others? It turns out that abusing power to bully others is truly satisfying." He then ordered, "Clean up Miss Han’s remains, and offer the Han Family my condolences."

Meanwhile, on the arena square during the exact time Xu Guang was killing Han Qing, City Guardian Duan Jue watched the spot where Xu Guang had disappeared, a faint smile flashing across his lips.

"It seems our Marshal Xu is a man ruled by his emotions. Ning De, is everything set up?"

Hearing his name, Li Zongkang turned around and cupped his fists in response. "Yes."

A chilling smile appeared on Duan Jue’s lips as he muttered in a low voice, "They’ve endured it for so many years. Why couldn’t they endure it a little longer?"

It was unknown who he was referring to. Suddenly, the sharp sound of something tearing through the air rang out.

WHOOSH!

A black-fletched arrow shot out from the Southeast at breakneck speed. It was so fast that the friction against the air caused sparks to trail from its tail.

CLANG!

Li Zongkang drew the heavy sword from his waist and struck the arrow down with a single slash.

Seeing this, Duan Jue laughed out of extreme anger. "Good, good, good! I truly underestimated them. Ning De, notify the Cold Blade Sect and the Immortal Crane Sect. Get ready to make a move."

"Understood!" Li Zongkang replied in a deep voice.

He turned and left. Soon after, Nie Yu came upstairs to closely protect Duan Jue.

A piercing explosion suddenly erupted in the distance. The sound was deafeningly loud. A patch of the formerly blue sky abruptly turned blood-red. It looked as if a brilliant flame had shot up into the heavens, igniting the clouds and filling the sky with a crimson mist. In an instant, the sky had changed!

"Relaying the Great Mage’s order: Whoever takes Duan Jue’s head shall be appointed a Canon Seat!"

"Relaying the Great Mage’s order: Whoever takes Duan Jue’s head shall be appointed a Canon Seat!"

A Demonic wind swept through the streets and alleys as inexplicable, monstrous roars echoed across the entire city. Then, a figure was seen charging rapidly toward the building where Duan Jue was located.

He looked like a Monk forged entirely from Gold. He rampaged forward with absolute impunity; the Weapons of the Feiyun Guards struck his body only to burst into showers of sparks! With a single punch, he sent a shockwave soaring into the sky, instantly blasting several Feiyun Guards backward through the air.

This was one of the Abnormal People, possessing a bloodline similar to Xu Guang’s Stone Skin Bloodline. Against such a being, the siege of lower-Realm fighters was meaningless unless their numbers reached an overwhelming degree.

The Yellow Heaven Sect—Vajra Canon Seat! No one could stop such a ferocious man.

A sigh drifted from a distant building, followed by someone reciting a poem: "I trained my body to mimic the crane’s grace, beneath a thousand pines with two sutra scrolls. I come to seek the Dao with no other words to say; clouds belong in the azure sky, and water in the vase."

A man in a long white robe emerged from the building. With a light tap of his foot, he remarkably stepped out a current of air. Riding this shockwave, he literally walked through the sky, his wind-whipped white robe billowing like a crane spreading its wings.

The Inner Sect First of the Immortal Crane Sect—Yu Liang!

"Your opponent is me," Yu Liang said in a low voice, standing beside the Vajra Canon Seat.

His Weapon was very strange; it was a Duster. Yet, using only this Duster, he engaged the Vajra Canon Seat in a fierce, tangled brawl.

Madness. It was all madness.

As the chaos erupted, Feiyun City instantly plunged into a state of sheer lunacy.

"Da Ming, why are your eyes red!?"

"Ah! Are you crazy?! Why are you biting me?!"

Da Ming, whose temples were squirming grotesquely, stared at the person talking to him. Suddenly, he opened a blood-soaked mouth, lunged forward, and tackled the man to the ground. This was not an isolated incident. Across the square, the exact same thing was happening to nearly everyone.

The order of Feiyun City, which City Guardian Duan Jue had maintained for thirteen years, was completely shattered in this single moment.

Duan Jue leaned back in his chair with perfect composure, looking at Nie Yu beside him. "Is this the method of the Yellow Heaven Sect? I originally thought that Zhang Qing’s trick would be related to the Profound World..."
