Investing in the Three Villainesses Gives Me Infinite Returns
Chapter 153: I Would Do That Too
As the afternoon gradually approached dinner, Stella finally climbed down from Elias’s bed and stretched her arms above her head.
"I’ll be right back," she announced cheerfully before hurrying toward the door. "I need to fix my hair!"
Elias watched her disappear through the doorway with an amused smile, and once the door closed behind her, only he and Natasha remained in the room.
Natasha immediately rose from the bed and straightened her clothes, her expression returning to the serious and impassive look she usually wore. She glanced toward the door, clearly intending to leave so they could have dinner.
However, before she could take more than a few steps, Elias reached out and caught her hand.
[Wait!]
Natasha halted and turned toward him, her brows furrowing in confusion. For a moment, she simply stared at him, but then her eyes narrowed slightly, and she turned her head away.
Elias blinked.
[What?]
Natasha did not answer.
His expression became heavier with confusion as he studied her face.
[Is something wrong?]
She slowly turned her head back toward him, and instead of answering, she stepped closer and gently took his head between both hands.
Elias stared at her in bewilderment.
He placed one hand over the back of her left hand and raised his brows worriedly.
[Are you alright?]
The concern in his eyes made Natasha’s expression soften, and a warm smile appeared across her lips. Then she stepped closer until her face was only a few inches from his.
Elias immediately had a feeling that she was planning something.
However, before he could figure out what it was, Natasha leaned forward and planted a soft kiss against his right cheek.
Elias’s eyes widened.
His heart skipped a beat, and before he could even process what had happened, Natasha kissed his left cheek as well.
Then his nose, his eyelids, and finally, his forehead.
Each kiss made his heartbeat grow faster, and by the time Natasha pulled away, Elias could only stare at her with shimmering eyes and an uncontrollable smile.
Natasha had been wearing dark lipstick, and faint marks now decorated nearly every part of his face.
She looked at her handiwork with obvious satisfaction, her golden eyes gleaming with pride as she admired the marks she had left behind.
[What was that for?] Elias asked, unable to suppress his smile.
He wasn’t embarrassed by the kisses at all.
If anything, he was as happy as he could be at the moment.
Natasha’s gaze shifted toward the bed, and she pointed toward the notebook and quill resting there.
Elias immediately understood.
He walked over, picked them up, and handed them to her.
Natasha accepted them, opened the notebook, and began writing. A mischievous glint appeared in her golden eyes as she finished, and she turned the page toward him.
I just felt like it.
Elias stared at the sentence.
For several seconds, he said nothing. Then he slowly nodded.
[Fair enough.]
Honestly, if someone gave him the chance to kiss his wives whenever he felt like it, he would probably do the same thing.
Natasha quickly wrote something else before turning the notebook toward him.
*Why did you stop me?*
"Ah!"
He had completely forgotten why he had called her in the first place. The sudden flood of kisses had caught him so off guard that the important question had vanished from his mind.
His expression gradually became serious.
[Do you know what demons are?]
Natasha’s brows furrowed.
She stared at him for a moment before slowly shaking her head.
Elias’s frown deepened.
’She does not know...?’
The Sword Spirit had specifically told him that Spiritualists knew about demons. If that was true, then Natasha’s lack of knowledge made no sense.
Natasha noticed the troubled expression on his face and immediately began writing.
Is something troubling you?
[Nothing important,] Elias answered, forcing a smile onto his face.
Natasha’s frown deepened.
She clearly didn’t believe him.
Her quill moved across the page again before she showed him the words.
You can tell me anything... and everything.
Elias felt a warmth spread through his chest at the sight of her concern.
He was genuinely happy that Natasha had reached the point where she wanted him to share his troubles with her. Yet he still didn’t want to drag her into the mystery surrounding demons unnecessarily.
Besides, sooner or later, she would inevitably become involved because of her Heavenly Demon Physique.
Still, there was no reason to burden her before he understood the situation himself.
He stepped closer and gently placed both hands around her waist.
[There is nothing really,] he said softly.
Natasha stared into his eyes for several moments, searching his expression as though trying to determine his thoughts.
Eventually, she nodded reluctantly.
Elias smiled.
For a few quiet moments, Natasha’s golden eyes lingered on his lips.
She seemed to consider doing something else, but instead, her gaze shifted toward the door.
Elias immediately understood and chuckled softly.
[Let’s go.]
Natasha nodded.
Elias slowly removed his hands from her waist, and the two of them walked toward the door together.
As they crossed the room, Natasha occasionally glanced toward his face.
The lipstick marks were still there, though they weren’t particularly noticeable from a distance.
She couldn’t help feeling pleased whenever she saw them.
She was especially curious about Stella’s reaction when she returned.
The thought alone made the corners of her lips rise.
However, her anticipation was short-lived.
As they stepped outside, Elias suddenly raised his hands and rubbed his face.
The faint marks disappeared beneath his palms.
’No point worrying about them any further...’ he thought. ’There is only one person left in the whole of Kilmir whom I can ask about demons.’
His hands lowered, then Elias’s brows suddenly furrowed.
He stared at his palms in confusion.
"Why are my hands like this?" he mumbled.
Natasha stared at him with trembling eyes.
He let out a low grunt, and the two descended the stairs.
He walked to the washbasin where they usually washed their hands after and before each meal, and as he washed his hands, he saw his reflection in the mirror and halted.
"Why is my face like this?"
