Interstellar Beast World: All My Husbands Are Powerful and Rich!
Chapter 438: Does he still have a chance?
Yuel was also on his way to check on Terry. However, he didn’t expect to be stopped by Vincent as he walked past him.
"Is there a reason you’re blocking my way?" Yuel asked, looking at Vincent.
"Did you already know about Wen’s identity all along?"
Yuel nodded. "Yeah, I knew."
Vincent took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to beat him up, and asked, "Then why didn’t you tell me?"
"You never asked me either." Yuel folded his arms, looking completely innocent. "Besides, he doesn’t harbor any ill intent and has secretly helped us out quite a bit. Since he didn’t want to expose his identity, it was only proper for me to act like I didn’t know, wasn’t it?"
Vincent pursed his lips. "Tell me, now that he’s formed a mate bond with Rory, does he still have a chance? Or is it..."
Yuel smiled and said, "Who cares? That’s his own business—it has nothing to do with us." He looked toward Vincent’s chest with a hint of sympathy in his eyes. "I only have one cub, Terry, and he gives me enough of a headache as it is. You have two cubs now, so you’d better focus on taking care of your pair first."
"I really hope you hatch two little trouble-makers to give you a good taste of misery."
Vincent: "... Get out."
His cubs would definitely be just like him—polite, cultured, sensible, and gentle right from the start. On top of that, they would be extraordinarily gifted.
Over on the other side.
Terry had just turned back into a fruit and hung himself right on top of Rory’s head when Rory’s optical computer chimed. It was a message from Bree.
Bree: [Rory, Yilan and I are almost at your castle. Are you ready?]
Rory quickly messaged back: [All ready. I’m coming out right away.]
After sending the message, Rory sent a notification in the group chat to everyone in the house.
Rory: [Bree is arriving soon. We can set off now.]
After sending the message, Rory tapped Terry on her head gently. "Terry, let’s go. Mama is taking you to hunt some bugs."
"Mm!" Terry wiggled softly on top of Rory’s head. "Off to hunt bugs with Mama!"
Everyone in the house who received the message quickly gathered their things and came out to meet Rory.
Five minutes later, the whole family assembled cleanly and boarded the airship.
Just as Rory’s airship took off, she spotted Yilan and Bree’s airships.
Instead of sending Rory a text, Yilan used her newly purchased airship’s broadcast system to speak directly to Rory. "Sister-in-law, since you invited us out for a picnic, why don’t you lead the way in front?"
Sister Bree had told her that to prevent Rory from playing any tricks along the way, it was best to let Rory’s airship fly ahead.
"Alright," Rory replied to Yilan, then instructed Jasper and Nix to pilot the airship ahead of them.
Watching Rory’s airship fly out in front, Yilan quickly sent Bree a message.
Yilan: [Bree, I’ve done as you said and had Rory’s airship lead the way. Are you ready? Am I definitely going to form a bond with Vincent today?]
Flying in the airship to the left, Bree saw Yilan’s message and let out a cold sneer.
"Idiot."
Bree: [Of course, I will definitely make sure you bond with Vincent.]
Bonding? Ha! The only person who would be bonding with Vincent today was her. As for that idiot Yilan—she was even afraid Yilan’s sheer stupidity would disgrace the Zerg genome if brought back to the swarm. Only her death could make her feel at ease.
After replying to the message, Bree looked over at Sylas, who was piloting the airship.
"Sylas, remember the task I assigned to you today." Bree walked over and used the tip of her whip-handle to lift Sylas’s chin. "Stall Rory. I don’t care what method you use. She’s only a rank-seven female—kill her if necessary."
If she couldn’t get her hands on Vincent and those rank-eleven males, there was no point in them staying alive today anyway. Once Rory was dead, they would inevitably perish as well.
Suppressing the disgust and revulsion in his eyes, Sylas gave a firm nod. "I’ve got it."
Bree looked at him, smiling with satisfaction. "You aren’t bad-looking. As long as you obey me dutifully, I certainly won’t treat you poorly."
Before long, the airships arrived above the Sunset Forest. Looking down from above, a vast expanse of a sea of flowers was clearly visible.
Standing inside the airship, Bree looked at the ocean of flowers below and smiled faintly. "This Rory actually showed some thoughtfulness, picking such a beautiful place as their burial ground." Dying in a floral ocean like this could be considered passing away without regrets.
Soon, the airships landed near the sea of flowers.
Rory had Vangar and the others carry the prepared food down from the airship. Since they claimed to be here for a picnic, they naturally had to set out some food to keep up appearances.
Bree and Yilan also stepped down from their respective airships shortly after. They had brought plenty of food with them too, though most of it consisted of fruits, juices, and items bought from restaurants. After all, they didn’t possess culinary skills as exquisite as Rory’s.
The moment Yilan saw Rory, she cast her companions aside and ran straight over to her. She was carrying the task Sister Bree gave her, after all.
"Sister-in-law!" Yilan called out affectionately as she ran up. She originally wanted to grab Rory’s arm, but Yuel had his arm around Rory’s waist, leaving no room for her to get close.
Looking at Rory with a bright smile, Yilan said, "Sister-in-law, since we came out for a picnic together, why don’t we find a larger spot and put all our food together? Eating separately won’t be as lively!"
"Sure!" Rory nodded with a smile. "Let’s look for a spot first then."
"Right, find a spot first!" Seeing Rory agree, Yilan smiled even more broadly.
She cast a glance at Yuel, who was standing beside Rory. She used to think only Vincent was handsome, but today she suddenly realized that Yuel was remarkably handsome too—especially when he smiled at Rory with such gentle, refined grace.
While Rory was scouting for a location, Yilan ran over to Bree’s side and whispered to her, "Bree, I want Yuel too! Even though he’s only rank ten, I realized he’s really good-looking." Compared to the companions by her side, Yuel was far superior. Not only was he handsome, but he was also now an administrator in the Executive Department, holding immense power.
"No problem," Bree nodded with a smile, though she thought nothing of it internally.
This fool actually dares to set her sights on Yuel. Although Yuel was only rank ten, his true dreadfulness didn’t lie in his elemental rank, but in his mind. The least dangerous thing about Yuel was his elemental power.
Rory quickly found a suitable spot. She turned around and called out to Yilan and Bree, "You two, come over quickly! How about this place? I think it’s pretty fitting."
Hearing Rory’s voice, Bree and Yilan immediately walked over to her. The spot Rory chose was right inside the sea of flowers, where a clearing of grass happened to sit—perfect for a picnic.
"This place really is wonderful," Bree walked up to Rory with a smile, praising her, "Rory, you’re really amazing to find such a great place so quickly."
Having said that, she immediately turned to Sylas beside her. "Sylas, hurry up and take the others to set up everything we brought."
Yilan couldn’t wait to tell her companions either, "Don’t just stand there dazed, hurry up and set up our stuff too!"
Observing Bree and Yilan’s reactions, Yuel smiled and said to Rory, "Rory, have Wen stay by your side to accompany you. I’ll take Jasper and the others over to set up the items we brought as well."
