Infinite Rebate System: Beautiful Women And Endless Returns

Chapter 146: Different Tier, Different Game

Who, he thought. Who has the resources to set up a shell company, fund it quietly, and deploy it against a specific acquisition at a specific moment while the target is out of the city.

And why Gerald Obi’s logistics company specifically, he thought. Of all nine.

Because it was first, he thought. The oldest acquisition. The one that’s been running longest. The one where there is any documentation gap. However small. Would be in the most documents.

They went for the weakest point, he thought. Standard protocol extremely smart.

His phone buzzed.

Not Vincent. Not Patricia. Not the security contact.

But The system.

[DING]

[ REBATE SYSTEM ]

Karma Return — Activated

Triggering Event: Financial harm attempted against Host’s assets

Vantage Commercial Holdings — legal filing against Gerald Obi Logistics

Attempted financial damage: $550,000 estimated

[ Karma Return: 10x ]

[ Return: $5,500,000 ]

[ Source: Vantage Commercial Holdings operational account ]

[ Status: Processing ]

Xavier looked at the notification.

$5,500,000, he thought. From Vantage Commercial Holdings operational account.

The system, he thought. Didn’t wait for me to respond. Didn’t wait for Patricia’s legal process or Vincent’s parallel track or the security contact’s investigation.

Someone attempted financial harm, he thought. And the system returned it at 10x before I’d finished reading the claim.

He checked his balance.

[ REBATE SYSTEM ]

Karma Return — Complete

[ Net Balance: $20,077,383.00 → $25,577,383.00 ]

$25,577,383, he thought.

He looked at that number for a long moment.

From $20,000,000 to $25,500,000, he thought. Because someone tried to move against Gerald Obi’s logistics company on a Saturday morning while I was in Millhaven.

$5,500,000, he thought. Involuntary. Automatic. No action required on my part.

Karma Return, he thought. First activation.

Works exactly as advertised.

He almost smiled.

His phone rang. Patricia.

"Xavier," she said when he answered. Her voice carrying something he hadn’t heard from her before — the particular quality of someone who had just seen something they couldn’t explain and was deciding how to present it.

"I know," he said.

"Their operational account—" she started.

"I know Patricia," he said.

A brief silence.

"Xavier what just happened," she said.

"Their funding dried up," he said. "Which means the claim has no financial backing. File a response today. Push for immediate dismissal on grounds of frivolous litigation."

"I—" she stopped. "Yes. I can do that." Another pause. "Xavier."

"Patricia."

"I’ve been your lawyer for four months," she said. "I’ve seen things I couldn’t explain in that time. This is the most recent of them." A brief moment. "I’m not going to ask."

"Good," he said.

"But I want a raise," she said.

Xavier almost laughed. "Send me a number."

"Already drafting it," she said. And hung up.

He opened his banking app. Found Patricia’s firm account. Transferred before she’d finished drafting.

Vincent called at 12:30PM.

"The funding source behind Vantage," he said. "My analysts traced it. A man named Raymond Kwesi. Operates in the commercial property space. Has been acquiring businesses in Kenvale District for the past three years — quietly, below the level that attracts attention." A pause. "He’s been watching your acquisition pattern since the Gerald Obi purchase. My guess is he had Gerald Obi on his own list and you moved faster."

Raymond Kwesi, Xavier thought. Commercial property. Three years of quiet acquisitions. Had Gerald Obi on his list.

And I moved first, he thought. And he didn’t like it.

"What’s his financial position," Xavier said.

A brief moment.

"Was strong this morning," Vincent said carefully. "As of about an hour ago his operational accounts show a significant unexplained outflow." Another pause. "Xavier—"

"I know," Xavier said.

"What did you do," Vincent said.

"Nothing," Xavier said. "The system did it."

Silence on the line.

"The system," Vincent said.

"Yes," Xavier said.

Another silence. Longer this time.

"I’ve been trying to understand your financial pattern for months," Vincent said finally. "I think I’m going to stop trying."

"Probably wise," Xavier said.

"Raymond Kwesi," Vincent said. "Without his operational funding the Vantage claim collapses. Patricia can push for dismissal today."

"She’s already on it," Xavier said.

"Of course she is," Vincent said. And hung up.

Xavier set the phone down.

Looked at the balance.

$25,577,383, he noted. From someone trying to move against Gerald Obi’s logistics company on a Saturday morning.

Raymond Kwesi, he thought. Had Gerald Obi on his list. Watched Xavier move faster. Set up a shell company. Filed a claim on a Saturday while Xavier was in Millhaven.

And the system returned it at 10x before Xavier had finished reading the paperwork.

Karma Return, he thought. First activation.

Different tier, he thought. Different game.

He opened his donation cycle and kept moving.

[ REBATE SYSTEM ]

Daily Cycle Complete

Donations processed: Rural Healthcare Initiative, Women’s Empowerment Fund, Digital Access Initiative, Child Nutrition Foundation

Total Spent: $950,000

Total Returned: $1,900,000

[ Net Balance: $24,627,383.00 → $25,577,383.00 ]

[ $200,000 buffer retained ]

$25,577,383, he noted. Monday done. Threat resolved. Patricia filing dismissal. Raymond Kwesi’s operational account significantly lighter.

Tuesday tomorrow, he thought. Apex Fitness. Jade. First official training session.

The chain keeps moving, he thought.

Always keeps moving.

_ _

Xavier woke up Tuesday at 7AM and looked at his phone.

Apex Fitness in an hour if he was going.

He wasn’t going.

The exceptional circumstances paperwork Patricia had filed Monday needed a personal statement from him before the faculty board reviewed it. Two paragraphs in his own words. The kind of thing that couldn’t be delegated even to Patricia because a formal academic submission with someone else’s voice in it was the kind of thing faculty boards noticed.

He texted Jade.

Xavier: can’t make it this morning. School thing. Thursday still on.

Jade: ?? okay. Don’t skip Thursday.

Xavier: I won’t.
