Seth couldn’t count how many times he read through the details, hoping this might be a glitch on the system’s part.

But unfortunately this was his ugly reality.

He could feel it, a sense of loss he never imagined he would ever feel.

He stared down at his trembling hands, his breath going shaky, trying to clench and unclench them.

And he could feel it, all his strength, his abilities, everything gone...

No, not gone in the literal sense, he could feel it, heck they were still all listed deep down the status block, except they were all greyed out.

For some reason he couldn’t access his own strength.

For a person whose personality revolved around taking control... this was the greatest blow to his mind.

Seth wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings, he barely budged when Brandon had entered, a deep wave of white noise ringing in his ears as his mind zoned out.

His brain processed all possible factors that could cause his current predicament.

But nothing... he couldn’t think of a reason this could have happened.

Was it his injury?

He had been dealt worse! Aside from the mental fracture nothing that had happened to him was new.

From mangled pathways to even cellular erosion, he had gone through it all, but it was nothing the perk from his title as World Saint couldn’t fix.

His heart began to race as his chest grew tighter, perspiration pooled as his eyes went red, and he began gasping hard for breath, his vision spinning all of a sudden.

"Big bro! What’s wrong?!"

"Big bro!"

"Seth!"

Brandon’s and Elaine’s voices rang faintly in the background as his vision slowly turned dim, only realizing at the last moment that his friends had long arrived.

Unfortunately he could barely muster a word before he collapsed back down to the bed writhing from pain as his rib cage only seemed to grow more compact, squeezing all the air out of his lungs and slowing his heartbeat.

He clawed at his throat, blue veins popping across his head and neck, his features growing more pale by the second.

Jack barged over to check on Seth’s condition, while Brandon raced out to go call for help.

"This... what’s happening?!" Uriel asked with furrowed brows walking to the sides of Seth’s bed.

Jack placed a hand on Seth’s chest, injecting a sliver of essence right through Seth’s pores, performing a scan.

His brows furrowed into a hard frown...

"What’s happening?!" Uriel repeated his question, staring at Jack.

Jack met his gaze grimly, then looked back down at Seth, his lips moving around a hesitation he couldn’t voice.

"I-I think he’s having a panic attack..." Jack muttered, doubt rife in his tone.

Even Uriel by the side froze, his lips curling downwards into a frown.

From behind, Elaine stepped forward, shaking her head slowly, "That can’t be, as an evolver he should have near complete total control over his entire body, a panic attack shouldn’t be possible..."

Jack grimaced, "I might be wrong but that’s what his symptoms point to..."

By this point no one still seemed to have caught on to the possibility that Seth had somehow lost access to his abilities.

So they all remained oblivious and confused, anxiously gathered around their now unconscious friend, their faces pale with worry and helplessness.

Fortunately, right at that moment, two figures rushed into the room.

The doctor led by Brandon...

"There he is! I don’t understand what happened, he seemed out of it the whole time, before suddenly bursting into an episode from nowhere!" Brandon hurriedly explained, pacing restlessly.

The doctor remained silent for a moment, gesturing for the four to give him space before taking out his stethoscope for a quick diagnosis.

The four retreated towards the door fast, silently observing the physician as he began to check Seth’s pulse.

The four waited with bated breaths, fingers knotted, jaws tight.

They couldn’t understand what was happening to their friend, the guy had barely regained consciousness for an hour yet he was back asleep.

"Is he okay?"

"What happened?"

"Will he be fine?"

He sighed and turned over to the four, and before he could speak up a barrage of questions was already thrown his way.

The doctor raised a hand and addressed the four, "You guys will have to be patient with your friend. He just suffered from a panic attack..."

Hearing the doctor confirm Jack’s previous diagnosis, the four went rigid.

Seth having a panic attack?

That didn’t make sense! This was a man who braved horrors of corruption, fought aliens from the origin realm.

A random day of Seth’s life was already filled with enough triggers to cause a panic attack if Seth really had such a disorder.

The doctor glanced at Seth pitifully, "Poor lad, he must have realized..." the doctor muttered.

His words not escaping the ears of the four friends by the side.

"Realized what?" Uriel asked seriously, with a frown...

The doctor took a long look at Seth, then glanced at the others, his brows raised.

"You all haven’t noticed?" he asked...

"Notice what?!" Brandon questioned back, glancing towards Seth’s peacefully sleeping frame sprawled unconscious on the bed.

The doctor gave a disbelieving huff, "Can’t you see the clues? The state of his room even after awakening? The stillness in the air? And maybe the obvious fact that his bed is still intact?!"

The doctor’s words struck like lightning, everyone freezing as realization hit.

Their eyes scanned the room searching for a crack, a sign of destruction, anything... folds on the metal frame holding his bed, a trickle of essence or will in the air.

They sought all signs yet it all remained absent, their gazes turning back to Seth in sync.

The doctor sighed, walking to their side, patting Brandon, the nearest, on the shoulder in consolation, "Take it easy on the lad, when he wakes up he’ll need your support..."

With that said he walked out of the room, leaving the four dumbstruck.
