Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 89: Chaos, Growth Potatoes Tree
Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Chaos, Growth Potatoes Tree
Lily Underwood instantly understood the implication behind Dustin Sullivan’s words.
She asked in surprise, "You’re not thinking of taking advantage of the chaos to... ’get’ a few things, are you?"
After three days of working together, she had long suspected that Dustin Sullivan also possessed a Space-like item.
Dustin Sullivan licked his lips. A flash of light emanated from his hand, and the strange longsword appeared once more. "This world is special. What we’ve seen is just the tip of the iceberg. Growth Potatoes, those herbs with special Effects... You think I’m going to leave with just the paltry rewards from the system?"
His gaze shifted toward the warehouses deep within the slaughterhouse.
Hearing this, Seraphina Sullivan’s heart began to pound!
Her Space really did have plenty of empty slots!
Dustin Sullivan’s words had spoken directly to her heart!
There were too many good things in this instance. Just the Growth Potatoes, which could keep you full, were enough to make her drool. She hadn’t been able to find where they were grown back at the ranch.
Her hoarder’s soul was burning with a passion!
"Let’s do it!"
Seraphina Sullivan nodded without hesitation, the same glint in her eyes. "An opportunity like this is rare!"
Lily Underwood looked at her two teammates, who seemed ready to go on a looting spree, and gritted her teeth. "Damn it, I’m in!"
The chaotic sirens, explosions, and battle cries became their best cover.
The exchanged glances and eager postures of Seraphina Sullivan, Dustin Sullivan, and Lily Underwood immediately alerted Evander Hogan, the Hogman on guard duty.
He brandished his massive cleaver and let out a threatening growl. "All of you, stay right where you are! If anyone dares to move, I’ll chop them into..."
However, before he could finish his threat—
Everything changed in an instant!
A cold glint flashed in Dustin Sullivan’s eyes as he stood to the side, and without any warning, he attacked!
The longsword in his hand erupted with a blinding light. The blade began to grow and expand at an incredible speed!
In the blink of an eye, a gigantic sword of light, over ten meters long and as wide as a door, materialized. Carrying a terrifying force capable of cleaving mountains and splitting seas, it tore through the air and swung down on Evander Hogan’s massive body!
Seraphina Sullivan looked up at the giant sword that nearly blotted out the sky.
She was completely shocked. ’This Dustin Sullivan... he really was hiding his true strength back at the ranch! The Power of this attack is far greater than before!’
Evander Hogan was completely dumbfounded by the sudden, terrifying attack.
His huge, pig-like eyes were filled with incredulous terror.
He couldn’t understand how these temporary workers, whom they usually regarded as "ingredients" or "tools," could unleash such horrifying Power.
He felt as though he had become the livestock waiting to be slaughtered!
"NO—!!!"
That was all Evander Hogan had time for—a single, desperate, and blood-curdling scream.
BOOM—CRACK!!
The giant sword fell without any resistance!
Accompanied by the sickening sound of cracking bones and tearing flesh, Evander Hogan’s enormous body was cleaved in two!
Blood and viscera sprayed out like a waterfall, a truly gruesome sight!
With an emotionless wave of his hand, Dustin Sullivan recalled the sword. It rapidly shrank back to its original size and flew into his grasp, its blade as pristine as ever, unstained by a single drop of blood.
He glanced at the dumbstruck Seraphina Sullivan and Lily Underwood, his tone quick and calm. "Our previous cooperation ends here. It’s been a pleasure. From now on, what you can get is up to your own abilities! Good luck!"
After speaking, he didn’t linger. His figure flickered, and he sped off toward the slaughterhouse like a phantom, disappearing from sight in an instant.
Seraphina Sullivan immediately snapped out of it. This was no time to be dazed!
"Sean Chandler, let’s go!" she snapped, unhesitatingly charging toward the slaughterhouse with her puppet in tow.
Lily Underwood also cursed under her breath, picked a direction, and quickly departed.
Left behind was a group of completely stunned Native People temporary workers and the grisly, bisected corpse of Evander Hogan.
Ash watched Seraphina Sullivan’s decisive departure. His eyes held not fear, but feverish adoration and a self-concocted "truth."
’I see! Sullivan and the others must be masters sent by the resistance! They used the Disguise of temporary workers to infiltrate this place, all to create chaos and seize supplies! The time is right, and now they’ve finally made their move!’
He excitedly shouted to the other temporary workers who were still standing around in a stupor, "What are you gaping at?! This is our chance! Run! We’re saved—"
...
As Seraphina Sullivan rushed into the slaughterhouse, she wasn’t just running around like a headless chicken.
Her sharp eyes scanned her surroundings, and she soon locked onto a lone Hogman patrolman who looked a bit dim-witted.
She approached silently and breathed out a wisp of faint pink [Sweet Fragrance].
The Hogman sniffed the air, and its eyes instantly became vacant and dazed.
"Take me to the place where the Growth Potatoes are grown!" Seraphina Sullivan ordered immediately.
The Controlled Hogman nodded numbly and turned to walk down a secluded path.
After many twists and turns, it led Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler to a hidden entrance leading underground!
A faint light shone from the entrance, along with a strange Aura, a mix of soil and plants.
’What is this place?’
Warily, Seraphina Sullivan signaled for Sean Chandler to go first while she followed behind, descending step by step.
However, when she truly stepped into the underground cavern, the sight before her left her utterly stunned!
The cavern’s interior was far larger than she had imagined, its ceiling dotted with some kind of glowing moss that provided illumination.
But what shocked her most was that the cavern didn’t contain a field of potatoes as she had expected, but... trees?!
Strange little trees, about the height of an adult, with odd brownish-yellow trunks and sparse leaves, grew in a scattered yet orderly fashion throughout the cavern.
On the branches of each tree hung several fist-sized, rough-skinned, earthy-yellow fruits—their shape was unmistakably that of the "Growth Potatoes" she had eaten!
’So... Growth Potatoes grow on trees?!’ Seraphina Sullivan felt her understanding of the world shatter. ’That’s not scientific! Potatoes are root vegetables!’
The mutations in this world were truly bizarre in every way.
Just as she was reeling from this counterintuitive cultivation method, a deep voice, like rolling thunder, boomed from the depths of the cavern:
"Entry is forbidden! Get out!"
The sound waves were so powerful they made the glowing moss on the ceiling tremble slightly.
Seraphina Sullivan’s heart skipped a beat, and she looked up.
A Hogman, a full size larger than even Evander Hogan, emerged from behind a massive Growth Potatoes Tree. It wore a soil-stained apron and held a giant iron rake.
Its small eyes glinted with malice and impatience.
Seraphina Sullivan instinctively tried to use the same trick again to Control the Hogman, breathing out another wisp of [Sweet Fragrance].
However, the giant Hogman just snorted disdainfully, puffed out its cheeks, and blew a hard breath!
WHOOSH—!
A powerful gust of wind instantly scattered the faint pink fragrance, causing it to vanish without a trace.
"Hmph hmph hmph!" The giant Hogman let out a derisive snort. "I was wondering who dared to trespass. Turns out it’s just a few little mice who don’t know their place!"
