Jude Donovan was controlled by Seraphina Sullivan’s [Sweet Fragrance].

His Metalization Talent activated, instantly turning his entire body into a man of steel. Like an out-of-control war machine, he spun around and charged thunderously toward the Spider Queen.

His steel fists, gleaming with a cold light, smashed viciously into the Spider Queen’s grotesque human face, letting out a loud CLANG.

’Hiss... The Spider Queen’s defense is pretty tough!’ Seraphina thought, glancing back as she ran. Seeing Jude Donovan actually trade a few blows head-on with the Spider Queen, she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

The metalized fists left a dent on the Spider Queen’s pale face. The creature shrieked, a piercing cry of pain.

Although Jude Donovan was able to fight the Spider Queen, it didn’t last long.

The duration of Jude Donovan’s Talent quickly reached its limit, and the metallic sheen rapidly faded from his skin.

The Spider Queen seized the opportunity, spitting several silvery-white strands of silk from its mouth that instantly wrapped Jude Donovan into a cocoon.

The corrosive mucus on the silk immediately began to burn his skin, making a SIZZLING sound.

"AHHHH!" Jude Donovan let out a bloodcurdling scream. The pain jolted him directly out of his controlled state.

He struggled desperately, but it was no use.

Even more terrifying, the surrounding swarm of giant spiders rushed forward, their sharp chelicerae easily piercing his body, which had lost its metallic defense.

Seraphina watched, dumbfounded. "That silk’s corrosion... is incredible!"

But this was no time for amazement.

Seraphina quickly calmed down, understanding that blindly running away wasn’t a solution.

’First Jude Donovan, and I could be next.’

She took out the firearm she had gotten from Nicholas Jensen from her Space Equipment.

A modified machine gun.

’A perfect chance to test the results of my recent training.’ Seraphina took a deep breath, steadied herself, raised the gun, and took aim.

"RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT—!"

A stream of bullets whizzed out, precisely striking the connection between the Spider Queen’s head and thorax.

However, to Seraphina’s shock, the bullets striking the Spider Queen’s body actually produced metallic PINGS, leaving only shallow white marks before bouncing off!

"Holy crap, its hide is that thick?" Seraphina couldn’t help but curse.

’These rounds can pierce steel plates!’

’And they can’t even get through the Spider Queen’s defense.’

However, while Seraphina was still in disbelief, the impacts had dazed the Spider Queen. It shook its head, clearly enraged.

A savage expression appeared on its half-human, half-spider face. It pushed off powerfully with its eight legs and charged toward Seraphina at astonishing speed!

She moved quickly to maintain her distance while pulling several bombs from her Space.

"Since bullets don’t work, have a taste of this!"

She calculated the distance and threw the bomb at the Spider Queen’s feet.

Seraphina hadn’t forgotten one of the Spider Queen’s Weaknesses: its fear of Flame.

The moment the bomb landed, it erupted in a blinding, fiery light.

The Spider Queen roared in pain.

As if on command, the surrounding giant spiders charged toward Seraphina.

"It’s working!" Seraphina’s eyes lit up. She immediately seized the opportunity to attack from another angle.

This time, she didn’t use the gun. Instead, she materialized her Silver Needle Sword in her hands, its blade wreathed in a pale blue mist of [Sleeping Fragrance].

"Take this!"

Her figure flashed like a ghost to the Spider Queen’s side, her Silver Needle Sword stabbing straight for the connection point between its compound eyes and human head!

This strike contained all the Power and skill from her training. The moment the sword tip pierced its flesh, the [Sleeping Fragrance] seeped into the Spider Queen’s body through the wound.

"HRAAAAAAA—!" The Spider Queen let out a pained shriek, its massive body shaking violently.

The potent sleeping agent was taking effect.

But the Spider Queen was no ordinary monster.

The Effect of the [Sleeping Fragrance] on it was far from ideal.

It quickly steadied itself, its sharp forelimbs sweeping toward Seraphina like scythes!

Seraphina hastily parried, but she was still sent flying by the immense impact, slamming hard against a Wall.

"Hiss! It hurts, it hurts! It really, really hurts!"

The pain brought tears to Seraphina’s eyes.

Seraphina was injured, but the Spider Queen hadn’t gotten off easy, either; its body was showing signs of drowsiness.

The Spider Queen’s huge body swayed, its nervous system clearly affected by the [Sleeping Fragrance]. The movements of its eight long legs became slow and clumsy.

"So guns are useless, huh?" Seraphina wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, a fierce glint in her eyes. "Only a bug can beat a bug, is that it? Fine, then I’ll grant your wish!"

She took a deep breath and activated her Perfumer Skills.

"[Sweet Fragrance]—Full Release!"

A pink mist, several times more concentrated than before, swept out like a hurricane.

In an instant, it enveloped dozens of the surrounding giant spiders.

The cloyingly sweet pink fragrance exploded amidst the swarm.

The vicious Spider Guards suddenly froze in unison, a dazed light flickering in their compound eyes.

The pink mist churned violently. The controlled giant spiders suddenly turned as one and lunged at their former ruler!

Sharp chelicerae plunged mercilessly into the Spider Queen’s body, and Poisonous Fangs tore at it madly. The scene instantly descended into chaos.

"HRAAA—!!" The Spider Queen let out a shriek of pain and fury. It never imagined its own subjects would suddenly turn against it.

It swung its forelimbs wildly, slicing several of the rebellious spiders in half, but more swarmed forward to take their place.

Seraphina took the opportunity to retreat to a safe distance, panting as she observed the battle.

Of course, the Spider Queen was an Insect Speaker, after all. Even with signs of drowsiness, even while being mauled by the giant spiders, it was still fighting back with all its might.

Seraphina wasn’t idle, either. She pulled a bomb from her Space, aiming for the markings on the Spider Queen’s abdomen. "Since you won’t go to sleep quietly, you can just sleep forever!"

A Burning Bullet traced a graceful arc through the air, hitting its target precisely!

"BOOM!"

Scorching Flames instantly enveloped the Spider Queen’s lower body, making a SIZZLING sound, as if something was being burned away.

The Spider Queen let out a heart-wrenching shriek, its entire body twisting madly, but it couldn’t extinguish the Flames that had suddenly ignited on its body.

At this moment, the Spider Queen had been greatly weakened by Seraphina’s successive attacks.

Seraphina knew her chance had come!

She forced herself to her feet and once again materialized her Silver Needle Sword. With the last of her [Sleeping Fragrance] wreathed around its tip, she thrust with all her might toward the connection between the Spider Queen’s human head and its spider body—

"It’s over!"

A flash of silver light, and the Spider Queen’s screams came to an abrupt halt.

Its enormous body crashed to the ground. Its eight long legs twitched a few last times and then finally fell still.

Seeing the fallen Spider Queen, Seraphina finally let out a sigh of relief. But she couldn’t relax yet, because the swarm of giant spiders was still there.

After she finished off the rest of the spider swarm, Seraphina could finally, truly breathe a sigh of relief.
