Seraphina Sullivan, however, flashed a cunning smile. "Who said we’re attacking head-on?"

She pointed toward the setting sun. "It’ll be dark soon. We just need to soften a section of the wall and let those wild parasitic monsters spearhead the attack..."

Hearing Seraphina’s plan, Summer and Troy Lynn’s eyes went wide. They never imagined such a strategy was possible.

"B-but those monsters will attack us too!" Troy stammered.

Seraphina took a few bottles of mineral water from her spatial storage. "The parasites are afraid of water. We can use Summer’s airflow control Ability to turn the water into a mist and create a temporary barrier. Once they and the Guards have worn each other down, we’ll go in and clean up."

Summer Lynn gasped, her eyes now filled with a newfound awe as she looked at Seraphina.

The plan was insane, but it just might work.

She bit her lip and finally nodded. "I know a section of the wall in a surveillance blind spot, on the west side of the base..."

As night fell, the trio moved like ghosts through the ruins.

Summer Lynn’s hands trembled, but she steadfastly controlled the airflow, atomizing the water from the bottles into a fine mist. It formed a flowing Protective Shield around the three of them.

The droplets shimmered in the moonlight, like a hazy veil.

"This Protective Shield won’t last long," Summer Lynn whispered, fine beads of sweat dotting her forehead. "We have to move fast."

Seraphina nodded, pulling the Sound Wave Vibration Gun from her spatial storage and activating its detection mode.

The results on the screen made her breath catch in her throat.

The entire base, inside and out, was covered in a dense swarm of red dots. Their numbers were comparable to the Parasite Nest they had destroyed earlier.

’Damn it...’ she cursed inwardly. ’There are even more monsters here than I thought.’

Troy Lynn swallowed nervously, his fingers unconsciously tracing patterns on the ground. "S-Sis, are we really doing this?"

Summer Lynn didn’t answer. She just clenched her jaw and reinforced the misty Protective Shield.

’I have to destroy this wicked base.’

Seraphina took a deep breath, steeling herself. ’Once this job is done, I won’t have to worry about supplies. Then I can just lay low until the mission is over.’

She shot Troy Lynn a look. "Now! Use your Softening on that section of the Wall!"

Troy Lynn pressed his hands to the ground, and the earth began to ripple like the surface of water.

The concrete wall gradually became as soft as putty. With a forceful tug, an opening large enough for a person to pass through appeared.

Almost instantly, a piercing alarm blared from inside the base.

Searchlight beams swept wildly, illuminating the entire area as if it were broad daylight.

Worse, the startled parasitic monsters began to stir, letting out bloodcurdling shrieks.

"Quick! Inside!" Seraphina charged through the opening first, her Sound Wave Gun ready to fire.

Summer Lynn followed close behind, dragging her brother with her. The misty Protective Shield fluctuated violently as they passed through the wall, nearly dissipating.

The inside of the base was even more horrifying than they had imagined.

The room Seraphina entered was lined with transparent incubation pods, each containing a modified parasite submerged in fluid.

Some were still recognizably human; others had been twisted into complete monstrosities.

Most horrifying of all, several pods had been shattered, their viscous fluid pooling across the floor.

"This way to the warehouse!" Summer Lynn pointed down a corridor to the right, her voice trembling with fear. "The supplies should be stored there..."

Rage filled Seraphina as she looked at the parasitic monsters, which had clearly been artificially cultivated.

She could only imagine the despair of the people who had been experimented on, used as living petri dishes for the Parasitic Bloodworms.

Seraphina pulled two bombs from her backpack.

She pulled their pins and tossed them into the room.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps echoed from the corner ahead.

A modified parasite variant, a full two meters tall, appeared before them.

The parasite variant wore an electronic Control shackle around its neck.

Its head, however, had completely mutated, resembling a blooming flower of flesh and blood.

"Get back!" Seraphina raised her Sound Wave Gun, but then she heard a rustling sound from behind.

More monsters were pouring in through the opening they’d created.

The three of them stood back-to-back.

Just in the nick of time, the bombs Seraphina had thrown exploded.

A sudden chain of explosions erupted from deeper within.

The ceiling began to collapse.

Everyone’s attention was drawn to the blasts.

"Our chance!" Seraphina grabbed their wrists. "Let’s push deeper into the chaos!"

Using the explosions as cover, the trio charged deeper into the base.

The explosions threw the base into chaos.

Parasite variants that weren’t fully under Control broke free.

Chaos spread rapidly throughout the base.

Explosions and the shrieks of parasitic monsters echoed relentlessly.

Thanks to the misty Protective Shield Summer maintained, the common parasite variants didn’t dare approach them.

They seized the opportunity, racing through the chaotic corridors until they reached the military supply warehouse.

"Here!" Troy whispered, pressing his hands against the heavy metal door.

Under the influence of his Ability, the sturdy metal door gradually softened until it had the texture of rubber.

The trio quickly slipped inside. Troy immediately canceled his Ability, and the metal door instantly hardened, blocking the pursuing parasite variants.

"We did it!" Summer Lynn let out a long sigh of relief, her face breaking into a joyful expression. "The whole base is in an uproar."

Seraphina, however, remained vigilant. "Don’t celebrate too soon. With all the chaos outside, we won’t be getting out of here anytime soon." She glanced around. "Let’s check the supplies first."

The warehouse was piled high with all sorts of military supplies:

Crates of canned food, compressed biscuits, and bottled water were stacked neatly on shelves.

In a corner were medical supplies.

What made Seraphina happiest was the discovery of three generators. They were gasoline-powered and remarkably quiet.

’This is a great find.’ Seraphina immediately stored them away.

Meanwhile, Summer and Troy sprang into action, grabbing their backpacks and stuffing them with supplies.

They worked fast, afraid to miss a single useful item.

In contrast, Seraphina appeared calm and unhurried.

After storing the generators in her space, she strolled leisurely between the aisles. When the other two weren’t looking, she quietly transferred large quantities of canned food and compressed biscuits into her storage.

The room was so packed with supplies that even as Seraphina collected from all over—a crate here, a box there disappearing at her fingertips—the overall appearance of the stacks barely changed. As a result, the Lynn siblings noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

"This is enough to feed us for a month!" Troy said excitedly, hugging a pile of cans.

Summer replied, "Yeah. Once we leave this base, we can just hide out somewhere until the survival mission ends. Then we can go home."

Seraphina also pretended to be stuffing items into her own backpack.

All the while, she was using the Sound Wave Vibration Gun to monitor the red dots on its screen.

But then she noticed a problem.

All the red dots were rushing in the same direction.
