Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 271: A Thrashing in Space, the End and the Return
Chapter 271: Chapter 271: A Thrashing in Space, the End and the Return
The Splitting Demon Rabbit sensed several gazes fixed upon it.
It stiffly turned its tiny head, only to see...
The majestic Steel Chicken, Chubbs, and the blazing Flame Chicken, Tubbs, now had a warlike glint in their eyes.
Flora, the giant Cannibal Flower, was baring its fangs, its vines rubbing together, drool about to drip onto the ground.
A flock of The Silenti, directed by Moe, silently flapped their small wings and closed in. Their eyes were vacant, but their bodies exuded an ominous wave of Petrification.
There was even Ruby, controlling several huge insects beneath her, which tilted their heads curiously to stare at it.
Chubbs (CLUCK CLUCK): "Honey, did you hear the master’s message just now? Said this one’s a tough customer, told us to ’loosen its bones’—beat it to death, and don’t hold back!"
Tubbs (CLUCK CLUCK): "Heard you, Hubby! We were getting so bored in the Space, we were about to molt! Finally, a fight!"
Flora: "The master said to just leave it breathing. Enough talk, let’s do this!"
Splitting Demon Rabbit: "???"
’Wait!’
’This isn’t how it’s supposed to go!’
’Where’s the all-you-can-eat buffet I was promised?’
’How did I become a little lamb surrounded by a pack of wolves?!’
’And every single one of these "animals" looks tougher than the last!’
It didn’t even have time to react.
The next second—
"SWOOSH—!"
Chubbs’s Steel Wings slammed down with a vicious gust of wind!
"WHOOSH—!"
A blast of Jet Flame from Tubbs scorched its face!
"BZZZZ—!"
Several intersecting beams from The Silenti’s Petrifying Eyes shot out!
"SHINK—!"
A sharp Poison Sting shot out from nowhere!
The attacks, like a raging tempest, instantly overwhelmed the tiny rabbit!
The Splitting Demon Rabbit, an almost unkillable monster that had given countless Players headaches out in the wild.
Now, inside Seraphina Sullivan’s Scavenger’s Farm, it was pinned to the ground and getting brutally pummeled by a group of pent-up "pets" before it could even let out more than a few whimpers.
It was given a brutal lesson in being outnumbered and got a harsh reality check.
Its abilities of infinite Splitting and regenerative consumption...
...seemed so pale and powerless in the face of absolute firepower and Control.
...
Outside the Space, the battle was entering its final stages.
A small line had formed in front of the "field medical station" Seraphina Sullivan had temporarily set up.
"Next!"
Seraphina Sullivan shouted, a hint of exhaustion in her voice, but her hands remained steady.
A grimacing Player ran over, clutching a bloody finger that was hanging on by a mere shred of skin. With a tearful voice, he said, "Please, Miss Sullivan! Help me reattach it! I don’t want to be a nine-fingered man!"
Seraphina Sullivan inspected the wound and said succinctly, "Brace yourself."
Before the words had even faded, Silver Needles and threads of condensed Energy were already flying.
Her hands moved so fast they left afterimages, her suturing precise.
The entire process was as smooth as flowing water, and in just over ten seconds, the nearly severed finger was firmly reattached.
Immediately after, the Universal Syringe injected a hemostatic and antiseptic agent around the wound.
"Done."
Seraphina Sullivan let go, instructing, "Don’t strain it for a while, and make sure it doesn’t get infected."
The Player wiggled the finger that had "grown" back.
Although it was still a bit numb and painful, the connection was seamless. He was so excited he became incoherent, "Divine doctor! You’re truly Galen reincarnated! Hippocrates reborn!"
Seraphina Sullivan waved her hand dismissively. "It’s not that amazing. My Ability is more like ’sewing’—I just reattach the severed parts. The real healing is up to your own body."
"That’s still incredible! You basically saved my life." The Player left, thanking her profusely.
Although the Splitting Demon Rabbit was dealt with, the subsequent cleanup and medical treatment were just as demanding.
The crusade was not without casualties.
Some soldiers and Players were lost forever on this snowy plain.
What was even more heartbreaking was that, due to the Splitting Demon Rabbit’s Biting and feeding trait,
some victims didn’t even leave a body behind, having been turned directly into sustenance for the monster’s recovery.
Perhaps because word had spread of Seraphina Sullivan successfully reattaching Morgan Brooks’s severed arm,
all the injured now came to her first for suturing, making Seraphina Sullivan one of the busiest people on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, after Gordon Chandler finished his report to the Central Base, he finally deactivated his "Camera" Talent, which he had maintained for a long time.
The immense consumption of spiritual power made him sway, and he nearly collapsed. Fortunately, Heath Summers, who was beside him, was quick to catch him.
"Sigh, I’m getting old. My body can’t handle such prolonged exertion anymore."
Gordon Chandler rubbed his throbbing temples and smiled bitterly.
Heath Summers blinked her big eyes, looked in Seraphina Sullivan’s direction, and suggested, "Mr. Chandler, how about you let that big sister give you a shot with her needle? Her syringe seems pretty amazing. Maybe it can help you recover some of your spirit?"
Gordon Chandler followed her gaze to Seraphina Sullivan’s busy and focused figure.
He then glanced at Sean Chandler, who stood near her like a Guardian God with his profound Aura, and mused in a low voice, "This pair... they’re really something else. One seems like support but possesses such a precise ’sewing’ Ability and those bizarre attacking scissors."
"The other is incredibly strong, with multiple Beastification forms. While this Miss Sullivan doesn’t have a traditional healing Talent, her ’sewing’ has certainly saved a lot of people."
Brandon Barton also walked over. He was just as exhausted, but his gaze remained sharp.
He chimed in, "And I don’t think that’s the extent of her Talent. To be able to condense those sharp scissors... her potential probably far exceeds a support role. Mr. Chandler, should we consider inviting her and Sean Chandler to the Central Base? With their abilities, they would be a tremendous asset in dealing with future crises if they joined us."
Gordon Chandler mulled it over for a moment, then shook his head. "It’s too soon to say. Talented people like them will be sought after by all sides. Even if we want to invite them, we have to see if they’re willing to leave their home. This needs to be planned carefully; we can’t force it."
Just then, Heath Summers suddenly looked up at the sky and said softly, "Mr. Chandler, the weather I’m maintaining... is reaching its limit."
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone felt the surrounding chill intensify abruptly.
The dark clouds that had been dispersed gathered once more, and goose-feather-sized snowflakes began to fall from the gloomy sky again, even more fiercely than before.
The icy flakes landed on the faces of people still warm with the blood and sweat of a fierce battle, instantly extinguishing the brief joy of victory.
Everyone silently looked up at the sky, their elation fading quickly, replaced by a deeper sense of powerlessness and gravity.
Defeating the Splitting Demon Rabbit didn’t mean it was over.
The extreme blizzard shrouding Azure Star continued to rage.
The seemingly endless apocalypse was far from over.
When everything was over, Seraphina Sullivan and the others returned to the Vorlag City safe zone.
Not long after they left, a small group of people approached from a distance.
Jordan Quade led his men to observe the aftermath of the battle up close.
"Boss! The officials are really something else!"
Jordan Quade nodded. "Looks like we should scrap the idea of taking over the safe zone. With our strength, going over there would just be suicide."
