Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 268: Sean Chandler Takes Action, a Healing Interlude
Chapter 268: Chapter 268: Sean Chandler Takes Action, a Healing Interlude
Heath Summers’s timely strike barely managed to stabilize the collapsing front line.
Seraphina Sullivan saw this opportunity and immediately whispered to Sean Chandler beside her, "Sean Chandler, find a chance. Take out the main body."
As she spoke, she quickly shoved the Receiving Card she had traded from Crystal Lynn into Sean Chandler’s hand.
If Sean Chandler could successfully kill the Splitting Demon Rabbit, this card might allow his Beastification Talent to gain another powerful and bizarre form.
A Demon Rabbit form!
After all, Sean Chandler’s Talent was Beastification.
Sean Chandler didn’t hesitate for a moment. He took the card, and his body was instantly enveloped in a faint glow.
The next moment, he had transformed into a small, pitch-black shadow cat.
Using the chaos on the ground and cover from his companions, he shot forward like a black bolt of lightning, moving at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye. He continued to close in on the main body of the Splitting Demon Rabbit, which resembled a distant mountain of flesh.
Seraphina Sullivan also took a deep breath. She was now ready to reveal her true strength at any moment to create an opportunity for Sean Chandler.
She knew full well that a Divine Favored could never be dealt with easily, so she too had to gather all her strength.
"What is that?"
Brandon Barton, who had been focused on attacking the main body, sharply noticed a discordant "black bolt of lightning" weaving rapidly through the rabbit horde.
Its target was also the Demon Rabbit’s main body!
Meanwhile, far away at the Central Base, Nicholas Jensen saw the familiar black figure through Gordon Chandler’s "live feed," stood up from his seat, and shouted excitedly:
"Sean Chandler is making his move!"
Just as everyone thought the reckless black cat charging toward the Demon Rabbit’s main body was about to be torn to shreds, something unexpected happened!
The small black figure, in the instant it leaped into mid-air, suddenly erupted with intense Energy fluctuations. Its body rapidly expanded and transformed as if it were an inflating balloon!
"ROAR—!!"
A bear’s roar that shook the forest replaced the cat’s meow!
A giant black bear, its size rivaling that of the gigantified Demon Rabbit, appeared with shocking ferocity.
With unstoppable momentum, it viciously smashed into the Splitting Demon Rabbit!
Beastification: Great Bear Form, his Monster Power Talent unleashed!
The giant bear that Sean Chandler had transformed into was clearly superior in Power!
Its giant paw, whipping up a vicious wind that tore through the air, landed a straightforward Heavy Punch squarely on the Demon Rabbit’s head!
"CRACK!"
The sickening sound of a bone fracture was clearly heard!
The Demon Rabbit’s neck twisted at a grotesque angle, its head flopping down limply.
"Did he succeed?!"
A sliver of hope had just begun to rise in the hearts of the Players watching from a distance.
However, the scene that unfolded in the next second plunged everyone’s hearts back into the abyss.
The Demon Rabbit, its neck broken, did not die. Instead, the flesh at the wound squirmed madly. Its smashed head, like a ripe fruit, detached itself from the body with a SQUELCH!
Meanwhile, on the stump of the Demon Rabbit’s headless neck, flesh proliferated at an incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, a new, completely intact, and even more ferocious head grew back!
Not only that, but the broken head that had fallen to the ground, enveloped in black energy, rapidly swelled, sprouted limbs, and transformed into a second, slightly smaller, but equally vicious Demon Rabbit!
One became two!
One on the left and one on the right, the two Demon Rabbits let out savage roars and simultaneously lunged at the giant bear between them!
Their sharp incisors aimed for the giant bear’s relatively soft midsection!
"Watch out!"
Someone couldn’t help but cry out in alarm.
Faced with this unnatural attack, Sean Chandler reacted with extreme speed!
The massive black bear’s figure instantly blurred and collapsed, transforming back into the agile black cat.
He narrowly squeezed out from between the two Demon Rabbits, used their massive bodies as a springboard, and created distance again in just a few leaps.
How could Brandon Barton, who had been waiting for an opportunity, let this chance go?
In the instant the two Demon Rabbits had spent their momentum and had yet to gather new strength, his cold gaze had already locked on.
"SWISH! SWISH!"
Two invisible flashes of a blade streaked by!
Gruesome sprays of blood erupted from both Demon Rabbits simultaneously, and their forward momentum came to a sudden halt.
And just as Seraphina Sullivan was completely focused, preparing to find a chance to help Sean Chandler deliver a fatal blow to the Demon Rabbit, an anxious cry came from behind and to the side:
"Sullivan! Over here! Quick, save Morgan Brooks! He’s not going to make it!"
Seraphina Sullivan turned her head to see Dexter Luther, his face covered in blood, desperately running toward her while tightly clutching a blood-stained human hand, severed at the wrist.
Behind him, Chloe Lewis was struggling to carry an unconscious teammate whose right arm was gushing blood from the severed wrist. That person was none other than Morgan Brooks!
"Put him down!"
Seraphina Sullivan made a split-second decision.
She went to Chloe Lewis’s side.
The Energy in her hand, originally prepared for an attack, instantly transformed, changing from a sharp Fencing Sword into a Silver Needle.
Time seemed to slow down in her hands.
She took the severed hand from Dexter Luther and precisely aligned it with the stump of Morgan Brooks’s arm.
"THP THP THP THP..."
Empowered by her Quick Sewing Skill, Seraphina Sullivan’s hands moved in a blur.
The Silver Needle precisely pierced the blood vessels, nerves, and muscle bundles at the point of severance—the stitches fine and precise, reattaching the severed limb to Morgan Brooks’s arm at a speed beyond normal comprehension.
The entire process took no more than ten-odd seconds!
The severed hand was now perfectly sewn back onto Morgan Brooks’s arm.
The stitches were so fine they were almost invisible!
Without pausing, Seraphina Sullivan then took out the Universal Syringe and injected him with a Strong Hemostatic and a Paralysis Potion.
The potions took effect quickly.
The bleeding from the wound stopped, the change visible to the naked eye.
A bit of color returned to Morgan Brooks’s deathly pale face.
Although he was still weak, at least his life was saved, and his severed hand had been successfully reattached.
This miraculous scene left the few nearby Players who had witnessed the entire process dumbfounded, making them almost forget where they were.
"So... so incredible!"
Crystal Lynn stared at Morgan Brooks’s wrist, which was almost as good as new save for a faint circle of fine suture marks, and murmured involuntarily, her eyes filled with shock.
This kind of medical skill, reattaching a limb in an instant, would have been considered a miracle even before the apocalypse, let alone now, when medical conditions were extremely poor.
Dexter Luther breathed a sigh of relief.
He patted Morgan Brooks on the back with a sense of relief. "I knew we couldn’t go wrong asking Sullivan for help!"
He turned to the still-shaken Morgan Brooks and said, "You should fall back and rest. Your ranged Talent is at a real disadvantage against these rabbits that specialize in close-quarters ambushes."
Morgan Brooks’s face was still pale. Although his hand had been reattached, the excruciating pain and terror from having it instantly devoured were still deeply seared into his mind.
He nodded weakly, his voice hoarse. "The rest... is up to you all."
This brief interlude came to an end.
Without another word, Seraphina Sullivan’s gaze returned to the chaotic and intense core of the battlefield in the distance.
