Chapter 266: Chapter 266: Splitting Demon Rabbit, Guaranteed Cutting Blade

At the very same moment the Monster Rabbit fully revealed itself and Gordon Chandler issued his command,

the information gathered by Seraphina Sullivan’s [Eye of Resume] flooded into her mind:

[Name: Splitting Demon Rabbit] (God’s Favored of Magical Beast)

[Gender: ?]

[Level: Level 2]

[Professional Skills and Talents:

1. Sharp Teeth: Capable of easily chewing through high-strength alloys. Extremely high physical destructive power.

2. Split: As long as it has sufficient food, it can split into an infinite number of individuals. Each split-off possesses a portion of the main body’s abilities and consciousness!

3. Demon Beast (Power of the Beloved): Greatly enhances its own power, speed, defense, and regeneration, allowing it to surpass the limits of conventional creatures!]

[Weaknesses: After splitting, the individuals have significantly reduced resistance to high-temperature incineration. They can also be suppressed by the Divine Power of other Divine Favored or by rules of an equivalent level.]

Seeing the information from her [Eye of Resume], Seraphina Sullivan was secretly dumbfounded.

The Monster Rabbit’s power was truly terrifying. Whether it was the teeth that could chew through steel, the infinite splitting, or the comprehensively enhancing [Demon Beast] Talent, it was far beyond any ordinary dungeon monster.

But then, Seraphina realized something was different.

A far more horrifying discovery sent a chill down her spine, like ice water poured over her body!

"Wait! What is this ’Level: Level 2’ supposed to mean?!"

A feeling of utter absurdity welled up inside her.

Seraphina had used her [Eye of Resume] to scan countless monsters, mutants, and even the Native People of certain special dungeons.

But she had never seen the "Level" stat on any non-Player unit.

That identifier was a feature exclusive to "Players"!

’Could it be... that this Splitting Demon Rabbit is a Player itself?!’

The thought exploded in Seraphina’s mind like a clap of thunder.

Seraphina had initially thought the Monster Rabbit that appeared near Kaelen was a threat accidentally brought out of a dungeon by some Player.

Just like her own Ruby.

If Ruby wasn’t under her control, she might have caused an abnormal insect plague on Azure Star.

But now, seeing the Splitting Rabbit’s information,

Seraphina’s line of thought veered in another direction.

’Could animals... also become Players?’

After the initial shock, Seraphina forced herself to calm down and think.

If humans could be selected by the Doomsday Game system to become Players,

then theoretically, why not other animals with a certain level of intelligence?

The implications of this thought were terrifying.

If animals could also grow stronger through dungeons and acquire all sorts of bizarre abilities,

then the apocalyptic era on Azure Star would become even more unpredictable.

It wouldn’t just be the effects of natural disasters; there would also be terrifying, ever-strengthening monsters.

However, what made Seraphina’s heart sink, what made her feel a trace of helplessness, was the designation that followed.

[God’s Favored of Magical Beast]

’A Divine Favored?! Another one?!’

Seraphina almost wanted to scream.

She had personally experienced how terrifying a Divine Favored could be!

Whether it was the Pollution God’s Favored in the Junkheap Ruins dungeon,

or Maxim, the God of Slaughter’s Favored from the Death Arena dungeon.

These Favored possessed the ability to easily suppress all Players.

Being a Favored didn’t just mean immense power; it also involved suppression and application on a fundamental, rule-based level.

When Seraphina looked again at the giant Demon Rabbit exuding a ferocious aura in the distance, her expression had completely changed.

Her previous gravity was now mixed with a much deeper sense of dread.

’This is bad...’ Alarms blared in her mind.

’A creature with Divine Power can’t be judged by common sense. Gordon Chandler’s previous plan was probably far too optimistic.’

Seraphina realized that subjugating the monster before them this time would not be as easy as they had imagined.

Seraphina’s internal shock and calculations were over in a flash.

Meanwhile, the battle on the other side had already reached a fever pitch in an instant.

As expected, the Players entrusted by the Central Base to handle a crisis of this level were no amateurs.

Seraphina immediately witnessed the strength of the Central Base’s powerful Players.

Brandon Barton, who had been resting with his eyes closed like a meditating monk,

snapped his eyes open the moment Gordon Chandler’s "Begin battle" command was given!

CLANG—!

The clear ring of a blade resounded directly in everyone’s minds!

The longsword in his arms left its sheath in response, the faint light reflecting off its blade carrying an icy edge.

There was no running start, no gathering of power, not even a discernible swing of the blade.

Brandon Barton simply gazed calmly at the Splitting Demon Rabbit in the distance, which had just appeared and was exuding a terrifying aura.

Then, his wrist seemed to move, just the slightest bit.

The next instant—

AWOOO—!!

A pained and furious roar came from the Splitting Demon Rabbit’s direction!

Everyone looked on in horror.

A massive gash, so deep the bone was visible, had appeared out of thin air across the Demon Rabbit’s huge, snow-white body!

Dark red blood gushed out like a waterfall, instantly staining a large patch of snow.

It ignored distance, striking whatever he looked at!

This was Brandon Barton’s Talent—[Guaranteed Cutting Blade]!

As long as his gaze locked onto a target, the blade was already upon it.

"So... so strong!"

Standing beside Seraphina, Crystal Lynn’s jaw dropped involuntarily, her eyes filled with shock at Brandon Barton’s power.

It wasn’t just her; nearly every Player present was stunned by that earth-shattering strike.

Much of their fear of the Monster Rabbit was dispelled by that single blow.

In its place was soaring morale!

"Kill it!!"

"Kick it while it’s down!"

"Everyone, attack together!"

Someone’s shout—no one knew who—instantly ignited everyone’s will to fight!

In an instant, a tide of colorful attacks of all shapes and sizes poured down on the injured Demon Rabbit!

Fireballs, ice spikes, Wind Blades, earth spikes, energy beams... a dazzling array of Talent Abilities lit up the area in a bizarre spectacle of light.

However, just when everyone thought victory was in their grasp, the unexpected happened again!

The grievously wounded Splitting Demon Rabbit, far from collapsing, let out an even sharper, more piercing shriek.

The flesh of the massive wound Brandon Barton had inflicted began to squirm and proliferate violently and unnaturally!

SQUELCH! SQUELCH! SQUELCH!

Like cells dividing, smaller Splitting Rabbits—but with the same bared fangs and red-glowing eyes—crawled madly out of the mother’s wound like a white nightmare.

The splitting had begun.

In the blink of an eye, hundreds, even thousands of Splitting Rabbits emerged like a tide, making a grating gnawing sound as they launched a suicidal charge toward the surrounding Players and the Stone Wall Justin Brooks had erected.

Seeing this horrifying scene, Gordon Chandler shouted loudly.

"Attack! Full power! Don’t conserve your Energy! Don’t let a single rabbit break through the defensive line!"
