Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Making [Growth Potatoes Recovery Soup]

Belle White gave a solemn reminder, "Remember our promise!"

Seraphina Sullivan faced the intensifying light and nodded seriously.

After hearing Belle White’s explanation of the Level 5 instance, Seraphina understood.

If she had stayed, she would have undoubtedly died.

Belle White’s actions had essentially saved her life.

The promise she’d made to the other woman was simple.

If she ever truly became a Level 5 Player...

...and if her strength allowed, she was to help Belle White overthrow Maxim’s tyranny.

The next moment, a pure white light completely enveloped Seraphina Sullivan. Her figure gradually turned transparent before Belle White’s eyes, finally vanishing like a bubble dissolving into the sunlight.

The gore of The Coliseum and the shadow of Maxim temporarily faded away.

But Seraphina knew the day would come when she would face this Death Arena—and her promise to Belle White—once more.

[Ding! You have cleared the Death Arena instance!]

Seraphina returned to reality.

Her [Worker] Talent, [Stealing Master Agreement], activated.

Without hesitation, she chose the [Magic Scissors] Skill.

Although she’d been unexpectedly swept into a Level 5 Death Arena instance and had come close to death countless times...

’...calming down and taking stock, the rewards this time seem... not bad at all?’

"Even though Belle White sent me back like that, thanks to my [Worker] Talent, I basically got a free [Magic Scissors] Skill."

Seraphina rubbed her chin, her mood gradually improving.

With a thought, she tried to activate [Magic Scissors].

A pair of exquisitely crafted scissors, shimmering with a mysterious silver light, instantly materialized.

They weren’t solid, yet they radiated an incomparably sharp Aura, as if they could cut through anything.

As the blades opened and closed, she could almost hear a faint SHING as they sliced through the air.

Seraphina could clearly feel that these [Magic Scissors] were similar to the Silver Needle produced by [Quick Sewing].

Their shape and size could be adjusted by varying the amount of spiritual power consumed.

Her curiosity piqued, Seraphina increased the output of her spiritual power.

The next second, the silver scissors in her hand expanded rapidly as if being inflated.

In the blink of an eye, they transformed into a pair of gigantic, outrageously styled, yet still incredibly sharp scissors that were almost as tall as she was.

If she swung them, they could probably "cut" open a less sturdy Wall or even a person with ease.

"Well, this is great," Seraphina said, looking at the giant scissors. Thinking of the Energy Silver Needle, she couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Scissors to cut them open, a needle to sew them up. My image as a support player is really solidifying."

’The Skills might be brutal in nature, but on the surface, they really do make me look like a combat medic... or a ripper?’

But the most comforting part of her trip to the [Death Arena] was completely eliminating the major threat of Yana Yates.

Being targeted by a Level 5 Player had been enough to make her lose sleep and appetite.

’Thank goodness for the rule restrictions.’

Recalling the danger of that moment, she couldn’t help but feel a lingering fear.

"All of Yana Yates’s Abilities were restricted down to just one. Otherwise, even if Sean Chandler and I teamed up, I doubt we would have found a chance to take him out."

Belle White’s shocked expression at the time was the best proof of that.

"Whatever, I’m not thinking about it anymore." Seraphina shook her head, pushing aside the bloody and tense images.

’This instance was really terrifying. And the higher-level disaster instances have far too many hidden secrets...’

The Divine, the Beloved, items containing Divine Power... these concepts, which should have only existed in legends or been known to higher-level Players, were now playing out right in front of her.

For a Player who just wanted to hoard supplies and survive peacefully in instances, this was a serious information overload.

’I just want to hoard my supplies and live a quiet life. How did I get dragged into something of this level...’

She sighed, feeling as if fate was playing a joke on her.

But regardless, the crisis was temporarily over, and she had gained a new Ability.

Seraphina decided she had to treat her terrified soul and stomach.

With a thought, she entered the familiar [Scavenger’s Farm] Space.

The warm, humid air, the fertile soil, the clucking of Chubbs and Tubbs from the distant chicken coop.

And Moe and Flora, who came running happily as soon as they saw her... all of it allowed Seraphina’s tense nerves to finally relax.

"Hot pot tonight!" she declared with a wave of her hand, deciding the menu.

She immediately took fresh meat and vegetables from her storage, set up a yuanyang pot, and the spicy red and clear broths began to GURGLE and bubble, a rich aroma instantly filling the air.

While waiting for the broth to boil, Seraphina took out the [Food God’s Gourmet Atlas] that had performed so admirably, handling it with great care.

This Atlas, once considered useless, was now veiled in a mysterious and powerful aura in her eyes.

Seraphina felt that it must hide even more undiscovered, wondrous abilities, worthy of her thorough investigation.

...

The farm Space was peaceful, aside from some commotion from Chubbs and Tubbs in the distance, who were up to who-knows-what.

Sean Chandler sat on a small stool to the side, focused on the "Complete Guide to Noodle Making" he had downloaded to his tablet.

He was kneading a ball of dough with a practiced air, attempting to make various shapes of buns with an expression so serious you’d think he was studying some profound martial art.

Meanwhile, Seraphina had taken over the kitchen area and ceremoniously spread open the [Food God’s Gourmet Atlas].

The pages turned automatically, stopping on the entry for [Growth Potatoes Recovery Soup].

A radiant illustration and detailed instructions came into view.

"I have all the ingredients. I’ll try making this Growth Recovery Soup to test the waters!" Seraphina rubbed her hands together, eager to begin.

She took inventory of the ingredients: plump [Growth Potatoes], a translucent [Energy Baryte] that seemed to have Energy flowing within it, and the clear, sweet spring water from her Space.

Her gaze fell on the Energy Baryte, and the corner of her mouth twitched slightly.

She picked up the Crystal Stone, rinsed it repeatedly under the faucet, and scrubbed it hard, chanting in her mind: ’Don’t think about where it came from, don’t think about where it came from... This is just a beautiful, clean, edible ingredient!’

A strong capacity for mental conditioning was an essential quality for a doomsday survival Player.

With her prep work done, Seraphina took a deep breath and began to strictly follow the recipe’s steps:

"First, peel the potatoes, cut them into uniform small pieces, and boil them in clean water until soft and tender..."

"Remove the cooked potato pieces and carefully mash them with a tool into a fine puree, then set aside..."

"Carefully grind the Energy Baryte... into an extremely fine powder using a mortar and pestle..."

"Pour the Crystal Stone powder into the potato puree and mix thoroughly to distribute the Energy evenly..."

"Finally, add a suitable amount of spring water and stir again to form a paste of medium consistency..."
