Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 238: Predicament, Death Tour
Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Predicament, Death Tour
Seraphina Sullivan was stunned.
A Level 5 Rule Dungeon!
The system’s authority was suppressed by the rules here!
Furthermore, low-Level Players were unable to use any of their Abilities.
Talent Skills were completely forbidden.
The sole mission: Survive for thirty days!
Each of these key points struck Seraphina Sullivan’s heart like a sledgehammer.
She finally understood what she was about to face.
This was clearly a hopeless situation!
And the one who had dragged her into this desperate predicament was, without a doubt, the Level 5 Yana Yates!
After a brief moment of panic, Seraphina Sullivan forced herself to calm down, her mind racing.
She immediately understood Yana Yates’s malicious intent in choosing this dungeon!
’A Level 5 Rule Dungeon... So that’s how it is!’
A chill ran through her.
’In this dungeon, all Players’ Abilities and system support are forcibly suppressed and disabled by the world’s rules. This means most of the advantages that come with a high Level are nullified!’
It was an extremely dangerous fairness trap.
For an ordinary Player who relied on Talents and Skills, this was no different from having their fangs and claws ripped out.
But as for Yana Yates himself...
’He’s Level 5! I wonder if this dungeon’s rules affect him in the same way? If his Abilities aren’t completely restricted...’
Seraphina Sullivan’s heart sank at the possibility.
If Yana Yates could still use his bizarre [Puppetry Technique] and [Space Exchange] in this dungeon, not to mention that [Weak and Pitiful] Talent...
It would be an absolute nightmare for the other Players!
If Seraphina Sullivan were to face him, she might not even have a chance to fight back.
At this moment, Seraphina Sullivan felt as if she had returned to the first time she was forcibly dragged into the Doomsday Game by the system—unarmed, facing the unknown, and utterly helpless.
But this time, the situation was even worse.
The first time, she’d at least had the support of her Talent.
Now, not only were all her Abilities unusable, but she also knew for certain that a powerful enemy was lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment.
’This situation... is truly as bad as it gets.’
A heavy pressure weighed on her heart.
"AHHH—!!"
Just then, a bloodcurdling scream echoed from somewhere nearby, accompanied by a sickening tearing sound.
The scream jolted Seraphina Sullivan, instantly snapping her out of her fear of Yana Yates.
’No! I can’t get lost in fear!’
’Yana Yates is a latent threat, but this Slaughter Game is the immediate test of life and death!’
’I have to calm down right now and figure out how to survive!’
’A Rule Dungeon... what form will this ’game’ take?’
Taking a deep breath, she began to quickly assess her condition.
The wound on her head was still throbbing, a constant reminder of her current vulnerability.
’My Talent Skills are unusable... but what about my Title?’
A possibility suddenly occurred to her, and she immediately focused her mind, trying to sense it.
Sure enough!
A faint but distinct warm current was slowly spreading from her injured forehead, and her Recovery Power began to dull the throbbing pain.
The pain was fading at a rate that defied logic!
It was the Effect of the [Dreadful Upright Ape] Title!
As long as I’m injured, all attributes increase tenfold!
This bonus seemed to stem from the rule of the Title itself, not a Skill or Talent, and therefore wasn’t completely suppressed!
’That’s great!’ Seraphina Sullivan felt a wave of relief, as if she had just grasped a lifeline in an endless darkness.
Although she had lost all her active Skills, the tenfold attribute boost remained!
This at least made her physical condition far superior to an ordinary person’s, giving her a fighting chance!
She picked up the towel from the floor and, enduring the stinging pain, carefully wrapped it around her forehead to stanch the bleeding and prevent infection.
Once the bandage was in place, she began to carefully survey her surroundings.
It was a massive, cavernous area akin to an underground prison, divided into countless small cells by rusty iron bars.
Each cell held a "creature." The light was dim, and the air was thick with the stench of blood, sweat, and an indescribable, feral Aura.
She couldn’t use her Worker Talent, the [Eye of Resume], and could only rely on her own eyes.
In the cell closest to her was a humanoid creature whose skin was covered in dark green scales and whose pupils were vertical slits, like a reptile’s.
It was currently staring at Seraphina Sullivan with a greedy and cruel gaze.
Its mouth, filled with Sharp Teeth, opened and closed as it issued a hoarse threat:
"What’re you lookin’ at, you weak little two-legged sheep! When the Slaughter Game starts, I’ll be the first to rip you to shreds and see what your guts taste like!"
Seraphina Sullivan’s blood ran cold.
Outwardly, however, she forced a look of panic and fragility, even deliberately shrinking her shoulders and avoiding the Lizardman’s gaze as if she were terrified.
Feigning weakness to lower an opponent’s guard was a survival strategy, especially after losing her Power.
Wait for them to reveal an opening, then strike to kill.
That was Seraphina Sullivan’s plan.
She cast her gaze further into the gloom.
As her eyes scanned the area, she took in more and more grotesque sights.
There was a being covered in bone spikes, like a humanoid hedgehog.
There were creatures with tattered, fleshy wings sprouting from their backs, relentlessly ramming the bars of their cages.
There were bloated, rotting ghouls that reeked of decay.
There were even individuals who looked completely human, but whose eyes were as cold as daggers and whose Auras screamed danger...
This place was like a prison exhibit for fantasy races and mutated monsters!
’A Level 5 Doomsday Dungeon... is this what it’s really like?’
Seraphina Sullivan was secretly aghast, feeling an unprecedented amount of pressure.
The upcoming "death arena" likely wouldn’t just be a battle among Players; she would also have to face these varied and hostile unknown creatures!
The difficulty of survival was far beyond what she had imagined.
KACHA—CLANG!
A heavy metal gate was pushed open, scraping loudly against the floor.
A booming, authoritative voice echoed throughout the prison area via some kind of loudspeaker:
"The Death Tour is about to begin! All handlers, get your Tributes in order! Check their shackles! Prepare for entry!"
The voice reverberated through the oppressive space, sounding the countdown to death.
As the voice faded, the fierce, whip-wielding man from before returned, striding quickly to Seraphina Sullivan’s cell.
He saw that although Seraphina had a towel wrapped around her head and her face was pale, her eyes had regained their clarity and were no longer dazed. He seemed somewhat satisfied.
"Hmph. So you’re awake."
The man snorted, rapping on the bars with the handle of his whip. CLANG. CLANG.
"Listen up. The Slaughter Game is about to start. This is your only chance! If you perform well enough, kill enough, and please the ’masters’ up above, you might get to shed your status as a Tribute, become a free person, and earn a moment of respite. Otherwise..."
He bared his teeth in a cruel grin.
