Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 171: Siege Beast, Night Behemoth
Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Siege Beast, Night Behemoth
Witnessing Nicholas Jensen’s Ability.
Julian Shaw muttered to Dustin Sullivan beside him, "I get more jealous every time I see this... Why does a big lug who doesn’t seem too bright get to have such a practical and potent Power? And he’s not even a Player from our world... Otherwise, I’d do whatever it takes to poach him for my team. He’s literally a walking armory!"
Though he was on the other side and didn’t say a word, Dustin Sullivan was only listening.
But his tightly pressed lips and the slight flicker in his eyes revealed he was thinking the same thing.
A teammate who could provide such powerful fire support at a moment’s notice was a treasure for any team.
As Nicholas Jensen took the lead and initiated the counterattack with a frenzied barrage of firepower, the other Players on the Wall no longer held back!
"Attack!"
Dustin Sullivan let out a low cry. The longsword in his hand instantly extended, transforming into a streak of silver light that precisely pierced a Night Demon Bat trying to lunge onto the Wall.
A cold smirk played on Julian Shaw’s lips. His eye flashed with an eerie light, and the gravity in a small area ahead of him suddenly intensified.
Several Night Rats climbing up were slammed back to the ground as if struck by a massive, invisible hand, their bones shattering on impact!
The other Players also revealed their unique skills. Frost, Flame, Wind Blades, Earth Walls... a dazzling array of strange and wonderful Ability lights flared up one after another on the Wall.
Their attacks interwove with the steady and efficient assaults of the Genetic Warriors, collectively forming the Shelter’s first line of defense.
Seraphina Sullivan flicked her wrist.
The [Poisonous Python Black Whip] shot out like a bolt of lightning.
Its [Free Stretching and Shrinking] Ability allowed Seraphina to easily attack the monsters trying to climb the base of the Wall. The tip of the whip sometimes swept horizontally like a staff, and other times thrusted straight like a spear.
From time to time, it would unleash a [Poisonous Fang Stabbing Kiss], injecting a Highly Poisonous toxin into the thick-skinned monsters.
Meanwhile, Sean Chandler had transformed into the most reliable of guards. In his Werewolf Form, he patrolled around Seraphina, relying on his terrifying speed and Power. With a swing of his sharp claws, he tore to shreds any monster that managed to slip through and get close!
The brutal battle for the Wall had officially reached a fever pitch!
As time went on, thanks to the cooperation between the Players and the Shelter’s Genetic Warriors, all the monsters were held back outside the Wall.
"Heh, I finally get why there was a reward like the Medicine Gift Package. Turns out it was all waiting for us to use right here."
Nicholas Jensen took out a Spirit Recovery Potion.
He drank it without hesitation.
The potion restored the energy he had expended from using his Skills and Talent over a long period.
The other Players also drank various enhancement-type reward potions during the battle.
Being at the Shelter had made it very simple to collect the blood of ten different types of night monsters.
So, this side quest was easy to complete.
Hearing Nicholas Jensen’s words, Seraphina also immediately took out a potion to strengthen herself.
Her Poisonous Python Black Whip coiled back like a living snake, crushing a Night Bat that tried to dive down for a sneak attack.
Seraphina panted slightly, raising a hand to wipe away the beads of sweat from her forehead.
She was just about to take a defense-enhancing potion from her Space when her gaze was drawn to a massive figure in the distance.
Her eyes pierced through the chaotic battlefield, looking into the deep darkness beyond the edge of the searchlights’ beams.
There, in the blurry zone where light and shadow met, an incomparably vast silhouette made Seraphina’s pupils suddenly contract!
It was a figure like a small mountain, roughly estimated to be at least over ten meters tall.
It resembled a giant, bipedal gorilla.
But this monster was covered in a jet-black, rock-like carapace, its muscles gnarled and filled with a sense of destructive power.
Just looking at it from a distance made her feel a suffocating sense of pressure!
Moreover, there wasn’t just one of these terrifying behemoths!
From the darkness to its left and right, two more equally massive figures slowly emerged.
These three monsters, labeled as [Night Behemoth] by her Eye of Resume, were even holding crude yet extremely deadly weapons.
One held a giant club carved from an entire mutated tree.
Another clutched a crude Stone Axe hewn from a single massive boulder.
The last one was dragging a huge Stone Blade!
They advanced step by step toward the Fireseed Shelter with heavy, slow strides.
Every time one of their giant feet landed, the ground shook violently as if from a small earthquake, causing even the sturdy Wall to tremble slightly!
Seraphina then examined the monster’s detailed information.
[Name: Night Behemoth]
[Gender: Male]
[Professional Skills: Monster Power: Possesses the terrifying Power to shatter mountains and split rocks. Its physical attacks have extremely high destructive and impact force.]
[Weaknesses: Low resistance to specific types of Highly Poisonous substances; maintaining its giant form consumes a large amount of Energy, and it will become weak if it cannot eat for a long time.]
Seraphina wasn’t the only one to witness the horrifying scene.
At almost the exact same moment, the perceptive Julian Shaw and Dustin Sullivan, who had been monitoring the entire battlefield, also turned their gazes toward the three moving "small mountains."
Upon seeing the Night Behemoths, both of their expressions instantly turned ugly.
And the experienced Drake Hayes, the moment he got a clear look at the behemoths, let out a shocked cry as if he were being strangled, completely losing his composure.
"H-How is this possible?! It’s a Night Behemoth! This kind of monster... this ’Siege Beast’... weren’t they completely wiped out by the joint forces at great cost over a decade ago?! Why do they still exist?! And three of them at once!"
His voice was filled with incredulous horror and despair.
"We’re done for... If we let monsters like that get close to the Wall, even the defenses of our Fireseed Shelter won’t hold for long! Their Power is enough to tear apart the alloy gates and smash the Wall to pieces!"
"We can’t let them get close! With their Power, the Shelter’s Wall won’t be able to withstand them for long!"
Seraphina also immediately recalled the hand-drawn monster manual she had gotten from Sean Chandler earlier.
In it, the monster called the "Night Behemoth" was heavily emphasized with trembling brushstrokes.
It was referred to as a "Siege Beast."
It was one of the greatest threats to large human bases during the early days of the darkness, famous for its unrivaled Barbaric Strength and devastating destructive power.
Just as everyone was reeling from the shock of this sudden, ultimate threat—
"ROAR—!!!"
One of the Night Behemoths threw its head back and let out a roar.
The sound wasn’t just loud; it contained a terrifying pressure, sweeping over them like a physical sound wave!
On top of the Wall, both the fighting Genetic Warriors and Players couldn’t help but freeze for a moment in the face of this roar, which was filled with an aura of destruction.
It was as if they had been Frozen by invisible ice. A primal fear rising from the very core of their being seized their hearts, making them forget to breathe!
The true crisis had only just begun!
Seraphina checked the time.
The final day of the seven-day survival had arrived.
