Chapter 155: Chapter 155: News, the Night Tide

With the powerful addition of Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler, the tide of battle turned in an instant.

Sean Chandler, in his Werewolf form, tore through the monster horde like a meat grinder, while Seraphina Sullivan’s Poison Whip picked off any stragglers with deadly precision.

Even Nicholas Jensen, who had been slacking off in the back, felt he couldn’t just coast by any longer. He discreetly pulled several Flying Knives from his Space Necklace and used his Metal Control Ability to send them spinning through the air, occasionally launching a sneak attack on a monster.

"Take that! Let’s see you dodge my Flying Knives!"

Thanks to their teamwork, the troublesome horde of night monsters was quickly and utterly defeated.

The air was filled with the sound of heavy breathing and the stench of blood from the monster corpses.

Dustin Sullivan’s gaze swept past Seraphina Sullivan, landing on Nicholas Jensen, who was sneakily collecting monster blood behind her.

But his attention quickly returned to Seraphina Sullivan. "Sullivan, I didn’t expect to run into you here."

With several Native People from this world nearby, Dustin Sullivan chose his words carefully, indicating they were acquainted without revealing too much.

"Sullivan?!"

Nicholas Jensen, who had been crouched on the ground collecting a Night Demon Lizard’s blood in a test tube, jerked his head up and stared at Seraphina Sullivan in shock.

"Your name is Sullivan, too?"

He stood up and scrutinized the unfamiliar woman before him, searching for any trace of familiarity.

Seraphina Sullivan then remembered. ’Back before I got the Transformation Ring, when I first saved Nicholas Jensen, I think I casually told him my name was Sullivan.’

’His memory isn’t half bad.’

Seeing everyone’s eyes on him, Nicholas Jensen scratched his head in embarrassment and explained, "Uh... someone saved me before, and her name was Sullivan, too."

As he spoke, his gaze returned to Seraphina Sullivan. He added with a hint of complaint, "Of course, that Sullivan wasn’t nearly as... kind-hearted as you. She scammed me out of a ton of good stuff. A really awful, nasty woman!"

Standing nearby, the "nasty woman" herself, Seraphina Sullivan, almost let her smile falter.

Seraphina Sullivan’s lips twitched. Her tone was flat, but it carried an imperceptible chill. "Is that so? Then I’d say you’re pretty lucky to have run into me this time."

Nicholas Jensen went, "Huh?"

Standing at Seraphina Sullivan’s side, Sean Chandler keenly sensed the sudden drop in temperature. He glanced at Nicholas Jensen, who was still complaining nonstop about the "nasty Sullivan," and held a three-second moment of silence for him in his heart.

’Buddy, you have no idea you’re courting death right now... You’re finished.’

Nicholas Jensen had absolutely no idea what was in store for him.

Meanwhile, Dustin Sullivan paid no mind to Nicholas Jensen’s little drama. He turned to the still-shaken Native People and said reassuringly, "Alright, we’re safe for now. We’ve shaken off those monsters."

Coco Sullivan chimed in at the right moment, her voice urgent. "We have to leave. The strong smell of blood will attract more trouble soon."

The Native People audibly sighed in relief, but their gazes toward the unfamiliar faces of Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler remained wary and probing.

Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler exchanged a look, and Sean understood at once.

Under the cover of darkness, he silently activated his Sapphire Space Bag, swiftly collecting several of the more intact monster corpses from nearby.

The blood inside was a quest item, and the corpses themselves could be fed to Flora. Nothing could be wasted.

The group quickly retreated from the blood-soaked battlefield, soon finding a relatively concealed spot to rest behind some ruined walls, temporarily out of earshot of any monster roars.

In the distance, the faint, sporadic sounds of combat and explosions could still be heard, but those were no longer Seraphina Sullivan’s concern.

She turned her gaze to Dustin Sullivan and made a concise proposal:

"Trade intel?"

Having cooperated before, Dustin Sullivan had no objections and nodded decisively. "Alright."

In truth, even if Seraphina Sullivan hadn’t suggested it, he would have sought her cooperation anyway.

His sister, Coco Sullivan, had a prophetic item that revealed a terrifying piece of information about this instance.

On the final day of this instance, a terrifying cataclysm is set to erupt.

He had to gather as many reliable Players and as much Power as possible to have any hope of surviving a disaster of that magnitude.

With a silent understanding, the two of them moved to the side, away from the Native People who were resting and tending to their wounds.

Seraphina Sullivan took a strangely shaped item from her Space—a Mysterious Whisper Sticker. She activated it, and an invisible, soundproof barrier silently enveloped them.

Dustin Sullivan was briefly surprised to see the familiar anti-eavesdropping device. Then he recalled using one himself in front of Seraphina Sullivan before, and a knowing smile touched his lips.

Seraphina Sullivan went first, her voice clear.

"The monsters in this instance are strong, and they come in different types with varied Abilities. So far, I’ve encountered Night Rats, Night Bats, and just now, Night Demon Lizards and Night Demon Hounds. The Night Rats have sharp claws and are highly destructive, capable of tearing through buildings with ease. The Night Bats can unleash invisible Wind Blades and launch sneak attacks in the dark, which makes them very tricky."

Dustin Sullivan listened intently, his brow furrowing.

This information corroborated what he had encountered.

"The system’s side quest requires us to collect the blood of ten different types of monsters,"

he added. "That alone implies there are at least ten types, probably more. What we’ve seen so far is likely just the tip of the iceberg."

Seraphina Sullivan nodded in agreement.

Dustin Sullivan then shared his key information.

"Coco and I found a small Shelter earlier, but unfortunately, a huge horde of night monsters destroyed it just before we could get inside.

These Native People with me are the survivors from that Shelter. According to them, there should be another, larger Shelter with a higher security Level nearby. We can follow them there to complete the second main quest."

A glint appeared in Seraphina Sullivan’s eyes when she heard Dustin’s information about the Shelter.

’This is without a doubt the key to completing the second main quest.’

"Excellent," she replied succinctly. It was indeed good news.

However, Dustin Sullivan’s tone turned grave. "But I have bad news, too. And it directly concerns whether or not we’ll make it out of this instance alive."

Hearing this, Seraphina Sullivan frowned slightly. "That serious?"

"Yes," Dustin Sullivan said, nodding grimly. His gaze swept over to his sister, Coco Sullivan, who was resting nearby, and he lowered his voice.

"The girl with me is my sister, Coco Sullivan. The moment she entered this instance, a special prophetic item she was carrying automatically activated."
