Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 154: Two New Monsters, Joining the Battle
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Two New Monsters, Joining the Battle
Seraphina Sullivan focused her gaze, getting a clear look at the two teams fighting a running battle.
In one of the teams, a man with an agile figure was particularly eye-catching.
He wielded a longsword of ancient design, but in his hands, it was like a living creature, able to change its size and length at will.
At times, it shrank to a short dagger for nimble parries. At others, it extended like a spear to thrust at distant foes. His techniques were fluid and ever-changing, allowing him to skillfully handle the various night monsters pouncing from all directions.
Even though the monster horde chasing them included several ferocious new species that Seraphina Sullivan had never seen before—and these new species clearly possessed Special Abilities—the man showed no signs of panic.
And Seraphina Sullivan recognized this man.
He was the Player she had briefly teamed up with in the bloody, unique apocalyptic instance: the Animal Slaughterhouse.
Dustin Sullivan!
At this moment, Dustin Sullivan was leading the two teams, struggling to break through the encirclement.
Seraphina Sullivan quickly activated her Eye of Resume, scanning the group of people.
Besides Dustin Sullivan himself and a girl casting spells beside him, who were both identified as Players, everyone else was listed as Native People.
Seraphina Sullivan focused her gaze on the girl, and her information instantly appeared:
[Name: Coco Sullivan]
[Gender: Female]
[Level: Level 2]
[Professional Skills and Talents: Flame Magic: Can use spiritual power to gather and cast basic Flame Magic.]
[Weaknesses: Fear of cold.]
Orange-red flames danced in Coco Sullivan’s hands as she continuously hurled them at their pursuers. Although their power seemed limited against the monster horde, they provided precious light and harassment in the absolute darkness, complementing Dustin Sullivan’s unpredictable swordplay.
Seraphina Sullivan then shifted her gaze to two especially conspicuous new species within the monster horde.
The first was a lizard-like monster the size of a small calf. Its skin resembled dark reef rock, and the patterns on its back emitted an eerie glow.
[Name: Night Demon Lizard]
[Gender: Male]
[Professional Skills: Corrosion Energy: Can spew dark Energy Balls from its mouth. Targets hit will suffer physical impact and continuous corrosive damage.]
[Weaknesses: Abnormally sensitive to electricity. Electrical attacks inflict extra damage and can cause paralysis.]
The second was a canine monster with bulging muscles and protruding fangs, its eyes burning with a bloodthirsty green light.
[Name: Night Demon Hound]
[Gender: Male]
[Professional Skills: Highly Poisonous Fangs: Its fangs contain a potent neurotoxin. A bite can cause rapid paralysis and even death.]
One lizard and one hound—two brand-new types of monsters. They were far from docile pets; they were out-and-out night Hunters, born and bred for the slaughter.
Their presence made the escape path for Dustin Sullivan’s group all the more perilous.
Nicholas Jensen stared at the two ferocious, never-before-seen monsters in the distance.
The Night Demon Lizard spewing corrosive Energy Balls and the Night Demon Hound with venom dripping from its fangs made him suck in a sharp breath.
"Damn! What are these new species? The monsters in this instance just keep getting scarier!"
He instinctively glanced at Seraphina Sullivan. He was still seriously injured, his combat effectiveness severely diminished. Whether they fought or fled was entirely up to the "temporary captain’s" decision.
Seraphina Sullivan completely ignored Nicholas Jensen’s pathetic little gasp.
She calmly scanned the horde of monsters pursuing Dustin Sullivan’s team, assessing their numbers and threat level. Then she glanced at the silent Sean Chandler beside her and asked curtly, "Can you handle them?"
Sean Chandler cracked his neck, his joints letting out a soft pop. A beastly glint of battle-lust flashed in his eyes. "Shouldn’t be a problem. Perfect. A good chance to test out some combat techniques I’ve recently developed."
Hearing Sean Chandler’s steady reply, Seraphina Sullivan nodded. "Good."
Although she was anxious to make contact with the Native People to complete her main quest, she placed great importance on Sean Chandler, currently her only heavy hitter and puppet.
He was a crucial combat asset, and she couldn’t afford to lose him here.
Once she confirmed he was confident, Seraphina Sullivan relaxed.
"Then let’s move!"
Nicholas Jensen hadn’t even processed it. "Huh?"
But Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler gave him no time to hesitate.
Like arrows loosed from a bow, the two shot out from their hiding place and plunged into the chaotic fray!
"ROAR—!"
Sean Chandler let out a low wolf’s howl. As he ran, his body swelled and warped, instantly transforming into a terrifying Werewolf with knotted muscles and bristling fur!
He charged directly into the most densely packed area of monsters. The terrifying Power from his Werewolf Form, combined with his Monster Power Talent, turned him into an efficient killing machine.
With a single swipe of his claws, a Night Rat that was trying to pounce on one of the Native People was torn in half!
Meanwhile, Seraphina Sullivan activated her Bounce Skill. Her body soared lightly through the air, and she landed precisely on a broken wall.
With a flick of her wrist, her Poisonous Python Black Whip shot out like a living black serpent, carving a vicious arc through the air.
She utilized the whip’s three Abilities to their fullest potential.
Its Free Stretching and Shrinking made her mid-range attacks unpredictable. The Binding effect ensnared a Night Demon Hound, immobilizing it. Then, the whip’s tip activated Poisonous Fang Stabbing Kiss, injecting a Highly Poisonous toxin in an instant!
Their seamless coordination and formidable combat strength immediately relieved the pressure on Dustin Sullivan’s team, and they began to efficiently slaughter the night monsters.
Dustin Sullivan and Coco Sullivan, startled by these sudden reinforcements, immediately looked over with caution.
When Dustin Sullivan saw the iconic, frenzied, yet efficient Werewolf Form, a spark of joyful surprise lit up his eyes.
He instantly recognized the figure he had fought alongside in the Animal Slaughterhouse.
Then, his eyes caught sight of the agile Seraphina Sullivan, wielding her long whip.
Although Seraphina Sullivan was using a Transformation Ring, she hadn’t changed her appearance since they had last worked together.
Seeing the two of them, Dustin Sullivan couldn’t stop the corners of his mouth from turning up in a relieved smile.
’It’s them!’ Dustin thought, feeling a surge of relief. ’I can’t believe we ran into each other again in this apocalyptic instance. This is great news!’
Coco Sullivan, who had been wary of the strange Players suddenly joining the fight, couldn’t help but feel puzzled when she saw the unconcealed joy and relief on her brother’s face. While maintaining her Flame Magic, she asked in a low voice, "Bro, you know them?"
Dustin Sullivan nodded quickly, replying in a hushed tone, "We’ve worked together before. They’re reliable—consider them on our side. They must have recognized me and decided to help. That’s enough talk. Focus on ending this fight quickly!"
Hearing this, Coco Sullivan’s doubts vanished, and she nodded.
She understood this wasn’t the time for a long chat. She immediately poured more spiritual power into the flames in her hands, and a Fireball went whistling toward a Night Demon Lizard attempting a sneak attack.
