Incubus Lord: Lust Harem System
Chapter 333: Thorns and Bile
Chapter 333: Chapter 333: Thorns and Bile
The second Thousand Poison Pavilion fighter stepped onto the sand.
She was tall, lean, her arms covered in glowing green runes that pulsed with each heartbeat. Her eyes were hollow, her expression blank.
She looked like someone who had already accepted death and decided to take others with her.
Grand Marshal Vane raised his hand.
"Fighters ready?"
Alena Terra gripped the Verdant Genesis Staff and nodded.
The woman raised her arms.
The runes on her skin flared.
And a thousand ghost-needles materialized in the air around her.
They hung there, suspended in a translucent halo, each one coated in a faint green film. The crowd gasped. The needles were thin, almost invisible, like strands of light given form.
Alena’s eyes narrowed.
"Corpse-Lily Bile," she said quietly. "A paralytic derived from the stamens of the Corpse-Lily flower. It induces complete muscular lockup within three seconds of entering the bloodstream."
The woman’s eye twitched.
"You think you know my poison?"
Alena smiled.
"I know all of them."
The woman screamed.
The needles fired.
A thousand streaks of green light shot toward Alena, a cascading wave of death that filled the entire arena.
Alena slammed the Verdant Genesis Staff into the stone.
"Ironwood Brambles."
The ground erupted.
Thick, gnarled vines burst from the stone, twisting and weaving together in a dense wall that rose ten feet high. The wood was dark, almost black, its surface textured like ancient bark. The needles struck the wall and embedded themselves, their venom unable to penetrate the iron-hard wood.
The crowd roared.
The woman stared, her jaw slack.
"That’s... that’s impossible. Ironwood takes years to cultivate. You can’t just—"
Alena stepped out from behind the wall, completely unharmed.
"I didn’t cultivate it," she said. "I synthesized it. On the spot. Using the mineral content of the arena stone and the ambient Qi in the air."
The woman’s face paled.
"That’s not... that’s not alchemy. That’s—"
"Knowledge," Alena said. "That’s what alchemy is."
She walked forward, her staff tapping against the stone.
"Your Corpse-Lily Bile is structurally unstable. Did you know that? The molecular bonds break down when exposed to high-frequency vibrations."
The woman’s eyes widened.
"What?"
Alena raised her staff.
"Like this."
She tapped the staff against the stone once.
A low hum resonated through the arena.
The needles embedded in the ironwood wall began to vibrate. Then they began to glow. Then they began to dissolve, their venom breaking down into harmless particles that drifted away on the wind.
The woman stumbled backward.
"No. No, that’s not possible. I spent years perfecting that formula. Years."
Alena’s expression softened.
"I’m sure you did. But you relied on tradition. On what your elders taught you. You never questioned the foundation."
She pointed the staff at the woman.
"I did."
The woman’s composure cracked.
She screamed and raised her arms, preparing to fire another barrage, but Alena was faster.
"Entanglement."
Thorny vines erupted from the stone beneath the woman’s feet.
They wrapped around her ankles, her knees, her waist, her arms. They coiled around her body, their thorns piercing her skin, injecting a mild sedative directly into her bloodstream.
The woman struggled, but the vines only tightened.
Her Qi began to drain.
Not stolen. Not absorbed.
Drained.
The vines were feeding on her energy, using it to grow stronger, thicker, more constrictive.
The woman’s struggles weakened.
Her eyes grew heavy.
Her body went limp.
She hung there, suspended in the vines, unconscious.
Grand Marshal Vane’s voice boomed.
"Azure Dragon Sect leads. Two to zero."
The crowd erupted.
Alena turned and walked back toward the dugout, her staff resting on her shoulder.
She didn’t look back.
The third Thousand Poison Pavilion fighter was already stepping onto the sand before the vines had fully retracted.
He was a large man, bald, his body covered in scar tissue that looked like it had been melted and reformed multiple times. He carried no weapons. He didn’t need them.
His body was the weapon.
He raised his hands.
Green liquid began to bubble from his pores, coating his skin in a thick, viscous layer. It dripped onto the sand, where it hissed and steamed, eating through the stone.
Acid.
The man smiled, his teeth yellow.
"You want to play with poison, little girl? Let me show you what real poison looks like."
He slammed his foot down.
A wave of green acid spread across the arena floor, bubbling and hissing as it ate through the stone. It moved fast, covering the entire surface in seconds.
Alena didn’t move.
She stood there, watching the acid approach, her expression calm.
The crowd held its breath.
The acid reached her feet.
And stopped.
A thin layer of mist surrounded Alena’s body, a faint floral scent rising from it. The acid touched the mist and sizzled, but it didn’t burn through. Instead, it neutralized, turning into harmless steam that rose into the air.
The man’s smile faltered.
"What... what is that?"
Alena’s voice was calm.
"Alkaline floral mist. A simple countermeasure."
She raised her staff.
"Acid works by breaking down organic matter through proton donation. Alkaline solutions neutralize acids."
She pointed at the man.
"You rely on brute force."
The man snarled.
"You think that mist can stop me? I’ll melt through your precious mist and your body and everything you love and—"
Alena raised an eyebrow.
"You talk too much."
She swept her staff in a wide arc.
And the mist around her body exploded into a cloud of floral essence.
The man’s acid began to crystallize, turning into solid chunks that fell to the ground.
He stared at her, his mouth open.
She was immune to his poison.
She was immune to everything he could throw at her.
And she knew it.
The man’s rage boiled over.
"ENOUGH!"
He charged, his body coated in acid, his fists raised.
Alena sighed.
"You never learn, do we?"
She raised the Verdant Genesis Staff.
And the arena floor erupted.
A forest of thorny vines erupted from the stone, wrapping around the man’s legs, his arms, his torso. He tried to fight through them, but they were too thick, too fast, too many.
He screamed as the vines tightened.
The acid on his skin began to neutralize as the alkaline mist enveloped him.
He collapsed.
The crowd went silent.
Grand Marshal Vane’s voice cut through the noise.
"Azure Dragon Sect leads. Three to zero."
Alena turned and walked back toward the dugout, her staff clicking against the stone.
She didn’t look back.
The man lay there, unconscious, his body covered in thorns and bile.
