Chapter 108: Chapter 108: The Golden Pill

"Any pill beyond the superpower realm is a grand treasure," Keira said, her gaze fixed entirely on his hand.

"A single pill at that level should shift the surrounding space and bend the natural air around it."

"It should leak terrifying amounts of raw, dense energy."

She looked up, meeting Derrick’s calm eyes.

"So why does this box look like a piece of cheap junk?"

"There isn’t a single fluctuation of energy coming off it."

"Not a ripple, not a scent, nothing."

Derrick looked down at the plain wooden box sitting casually in his palm.

The system had sealed every drop of power inside to prevent any energy leakage from destroying the room.

To an outsider like Keira, it just looked like a worthless piece of wood.

Before giving any further explanation, Derrick looked Keira in the eye and shook his head slightly.

"The space I accessed isn’t my own," Derrick said smoothly, keeping his tone measured.

"It’s a shared spatial vault owned by my master’s faction, and I only have permission to pull and store items within it."

"The moment you authorized the transaction, the pill was placed directly into that space for me to retrieve."

To settle her lingering doubts, he turned his phone toward her, showing her the live transaction history on his business account screen.

Keira leaned in to look.

The screen flickered for a fraction of a second, and then the five billion social credits she had just transferred completely vanished.

There was no outgoing transfer record, no flagged pending status, and no paper trail left behind.

It was as if five billion credits had simply dissolved into thin air, leaving the balance completely untouched by any trace of movement.

"How... how can that be?"

Keira gasped in genuine astonishment, her eyes wide as she stared at the blank log.

Even the highest-level financial networks in the realm couldn’t wipe a multi-billion transaction so cleanly in real time without leaving nothing behind.

She had never witnessed anything like this before.

Derrick lowered his phone and glanced down at the plain wooden box sitting in his hand.

"My master has his own ways of sealing things," Derrick continued, keeping his posture entirely relaxed.

"If the energy of a Divine Grade Golden Pill leaked out freely into the open air, every high-stage cultivator in this city would be knocking on your door within five minutes."

Keira went silent for a moment, processing everything she had just seen and heard. Her lingering doubts melted into sheer awe.

"Open it," she said softly, her breath catching in her throat. "Let me see it."

Derrick slid the lid of the plain wooden box back just a fraction of an inch.

The moment the seal broke, reality itself recoiled.

A dense, golden shockwave erupted from the wooden casing, ripping through the room like an atmospheric detonation.

The heavy air in the apartment instantaneously thinned out, sucked toward the box as if time and space were caving in on a central point.

The glass windows rattled violently inside their frames, and the surrounding gravitational pull shifted so drastically that heavy pieces of furniture hovered an inch off the floor.

Outside, the sunny afternoon sky instantly turned pitch black.

Thick, violent storm clouds swirled in a massive, swirling vortex directly above the building, laced with terrifying, bright golden lightning that roared across the clouds.

A pressure so immense and divine flooded the living room that the ambient energy choked the air, making every breath feel heavy.

Before the sky could crack open and alert the entire city, Keira’s hand moved like a blur.

SLAM!

She slammed the wooden lid shut herself, sealing the box tight.

The golden light snapped out of existence.

The furniture slammed back onto the floorboards, the windows stopped vibrating, and outside, the thick storm clouds abruptly dissolved into clear sky as if the anomaly had never happened.

Keira stood frozen, her chest heaving as she panted for air, her eyes wide with unadulterated shock.

"That..." she whispered, her hands trembling where they pressed against the wooden box. "That was really a Divine pill..."

"That’s why it costs five billion," Derrick said calmly, taking the box back from her hands. "It’s a hundred percent pure."

Keira stared at him, her eyes wide as the weight of those words finally crashed through her initial shock.

"A hundred percent... pure?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.

She had heard him say it earlier, but her mind had been too focused on the price tag and the sheer absurdity of saving her grandfather to register the impossibility of the phrase.

Now, having felt the terrifying, pristine force inside that ordinary box, the truth hit her like a sledgehammer.

"Derrick... how is that even possible?" Keira’s voice trembled slightly. "That defies everything the alchemy world knows!"

She took a step closer, her sharp composure completely shattered.

"Even for a basic, ungraded PED pill, the greatest grandmasters in the entire realm can only manage an eighty or ninety percent purity rate at best. There is always residual toxin! There is always impurity!"

She pointed an unsteady finger at the sealed box.

"And this is a Grade 3 Golden Pill Stage pill! Creating a zero-impurity Grade 3 pill isn’t just difficult—it’s supposed to be fundamentally impossible!"

She looked at Derrick as if she were looking at a ghost, her breath coming in shallow gasps.

"Who... who made this? What kind of existence is your master?!"

Derrick shook his head calmly.

"I can’t answer that," Derrick said, maintaining his composure. "My teacher explicitly forbade me from revealing anything about his existence to anyone."

Keira blinked and took a deep, steadying breath.

Years of elite training kicked back in, and her sharp, composed demeanor returned just as quickly as it had shattered.

She smoothed her clothes, her gaze lingering on the plain wooden box in Derrick’s grip.

"Will this pill be enough to cure your grandfather?" Derrick asked.

Keira nodded without a shadow of a doubt.

"It is more than enough," Keira said. "With zero impurities, the foreign energy in his system will be purged entirely without causing his compromised channels any further trauma."

While the two of them stood in the quiet apartment, the entire Capital City was thrown into utter chaos.

Despite the box being open for merely a single second, the brief manifestation of dark and golden clouds had triggered high-grade energy sensors across every major district.

Silent alarms blared in underground vaults.

Automated detection networks went completely haywire.

Deep within closed-door sanctuaries, ancient powerhouses abruptly opened their eyes.

From the top-tier noble houses to the heavily fortified gates of the Royal Family’s palace, every powerful faction in the city received the exact same atmospheric reading.

The verdict was indisputable.

A phenomenon of that magnitude could mean only one thing.

Somewhere within the city, someone had successfully forged or unsealed an absolute peak Grade 3 Golden Pill.

In a single instant, the quiet shadows of the Capital began to move as every faction scrambled to locate the source of the divine artifact.
