Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Keira’s Room

For a moment, time itself seemed to stop for Kai.

Derrick’s cold words kept echoing in his mind, ringing in his ears over and over..

Late stage... of the Physical Strengthening Realm?

Kai’s eyes went wide with pure terror, all the color draining from his face until he looked pale as a ghost.

No... Impossible! his mind screamed, panic surging through him. That’s completely impossible!

Did Keira lie about his age?

Was this guy secretly some old monster disguised as a kid?

How could someone younger than him, an utter nobody from god knows where, be a late-stage cultivator?

Kai was a true heir of the grand Chen family, showered with top-tier resources and high-grade pills since he was a child, yet he was still stuck in the middle stage.

How could a nobody he did not hear about before beat him out like this?

Deep down, Kai knew Derrick wasn’t bluffing.

The way Derrick had dodged his full-power strike without even breaking a sweat, letting the blade pass by an inch, proved his terrifying skill.

BUT!

A sudden, desperate spark of delusion lit up in Kai’s trembling heart.

That doesn’t mean he can beat me! I have a Grade 1 Artifact right here! He’s empty-handed and dumb enough to look down on me! With this spear, I can still end him!

Time seemed to have returned to normal, snapping right back to the current moment.

Kai opened his mouth to roar, straining every muscle to twist his hips, break Derrick’s grip, and drive the green-glowing blade straight through the arrogant bastard’s neck.

He didn’t even get the chance to move an inch.

Before Kai could even react, a brutal blur of movement cut across his vision.

Everything flipped upside down, the garden, the trees, and the estate were completely defying gravity.

Crash!

"Ugh!!" The wind was knocked right out of his chest in one crushing blow.

Kai was flat on his back in the dirt, gasping frantically for air like a fish out of water, staring up at the blue sky in dead silence.

He hadn’t even felt how he was thrown, nor did he understand when or how he had hit the ground.

Up on the third-floor balcony of the mansion, Chen Weian stood in silence, watching the whole fight unfold below.

His eyes went ice-cold as he took in Derrick’s effortless, lightning-fast moves and the humiliating ease with which his son was slammed into the dirt.

Crack.

The delicate porcelain teacup in his hand shattered into dust, hot tea dripping through his fingers onto the stone railing.

Without saying a word or even looking back at his groaning son, Weian turned on his heel and disappeared down the dark hallway.

The moment he stepped back, Keira tilted her head slightly, her gaze flicking up to the empty balcony.

A cold smirk played on her lips as her eyes narrowed.

Just what are you planning, my nasty uncle? she thought to herself.

Down below, the fight was far from over—at least in Kai’s mind.

"I’ll kill you! I’ll fucking slaughter both of you!" Kai screamed, his pride crushed into dust.

His mind was a swirling mess of pure hatred.

How dare this nameless slum rat lay a hand on him?

And Keira? That condescending bitch! Standing there laughing like he was a joke?

I’m going to ruin you, Kai cursed in his head, his eyes bloodshot with malice. I’ll tear that arrogant bastard limb from limb, and then I’ll make that fucking whore watch every single second of it.

She thinks she’s untouchable just because of her power and influence? I’ll drag her straight down into the gutter!

"I—" Refusing to accept such a pathetic loss, Kai scrambled up from the dirt with a foul snarl and charged at Derrick again. "Will—RAGHHH!!"

He swung the sword wildly, flailing with pure anger instead of any real technique.

To Derrick, his moves were even easier to read than before.

Pivoting casually to dodge a heavy slash, Derrick’s hand shot out, locking onto Kai’s wrist once more.

"Argh..." With a quick twist, he forced Kai to drop the sword onto the grass before planting a hard kick right into the boy’s chest.

"Stop—don’t! Help!"

Kai flew backward, hitting the dirt with a loud thud and coughing heavily as he clutched his ribs.

Seeing their young master get handled so easily, the four bodyguards panicked and moved to rush in and take Derrick down.

Before they could take a step, a blur crossed the distance.

Keira appeared right in front of them, her eyes flashing with a chilling glare.

"Take this trash away if you don’t want this situation to escalate," she warned, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

The guards gritted their teeth, but facing Keira, they had no choice.

Trembling under her pressure, they bowed in fear and hurried to drag the groaning, cursing Kai off the garden grounds.

With that headache out of the way, Keira turned back to Derrick.

"Let’s go."

Leaving the mansion behind, Keira called an automated self-flying cab.

In just a few short minutes, the cab glided down toward a towering, hyper-modern skyscraper rising high above the skyline like a column of black glass and gold.

The whole place just dripped wealth, right from its grand entrance down to the gleaming marble lobby visible through the massive glass walls.

As the cab doors slid open, Derrick’s eyes caught a familiar sight over at the front desk.

Standing there with a smooth, perfectly practiced smile was a holographic receptionist.

It was Risa, the exact same AI assistant he had run into back in his own city.

Neither of them stopped to chat with the AI. But the holographic woman passed a faint creepy smile upon seeing them.

Keira just walked right past the desk, scanned her access badge, and guided him straight into the private express elevator.

A few seconds later, the doors opened into her second apartment.

"Whenever I am in the capital city, I live here. But it has been ages since I came here."

The air had that quiet, untouched feel of a place nobody had set foot in for months.

Yet it was completely spotless, thanks to automated cleaning systems keeping every single surface free of dust.

Keira led him down a wide hallway and pushed open a pair of heavy doors into her private office.

"Here we are."

Tucked away in the corner of the room was a whole wall of liquid-cooled supercomputers.

The compact black towers pulsed with a faint, steady glow, looking so sleek that you could easily mistake them for high-end art pieces instead of raw processing power.
