Immortal Travel of Longevity
Chapter 603: The Demon Sword on the Mountain, the Black Pagoda Below
Chen Changsheng gazed at that Demon Sword, then stopped walking forward.
The countless skeletons below the mountain, the bloody moonlight drawn by the Demon Sword – all revealed its eerie nature without exception.
‘Most likely, this Demon Sword is the personal sword of the Summoning Demon Divine Monarch.’
‘But why is this sword here?’
Chen Changsheng frowned. Could it be that Yu Xuan hadn’t come here?
That shouldn’t be.
The Summoning Demon Divine Monarch was already dead. There was no reason for Yu Xuan to leave this sword behind.
Whatever the case, this sword definitely held secrets. Chen Changsheng still didn’t dare act recklessly.
He was certain that a cultivator as mad and crazy as the Summoning Demon Divine Monarch, splitting his soul countless times, was the strongest opponent he had ever encountered.
Chen Changsheng thought for a moment, then summoned the Black Pagoda again.
“Got something for you.”
The Black Pagoda was confused, but he froze as he felt a massive surge of Devil Qi.
“What is this?!”
The Black Pagoda exclaimed, his gaze fixed on the Demon Sword, a tingling sensation spreading over him.
His attention was completely captured by that Demon Sword.
“Wow…”
The Black Pagoda muttered, saying: “Incredible, truly incredible…”
He even let out a slight hiss.
This Demon Sword had shocked him greatly.
At least until now, he had never encountered anything with such immense Devil Qi.
Chen Changsheng said: “I want you to diminish the Devil Qi within this sword.”
The Black Pagoda paused. “Me? Here? But what about you?”
Chen Changsheng replied: “I have other matters to attend to.”
The Black Pagoda asked: “What? You’re leaving me in a place like this?”
“Do you know how many years it would take me just to absorb some of its Devil Qi? At least twenty or thirty! It won’t come down otherwise!”
Chen Changsheng stated: “Weren’t you sealed inside my sleeve for twenty or thirty years too? Besides, I’m not asking you to drain it dry, just absorb a portion.”
This way, it would provide some assurance when he made his move later.
“And you have the nerve to say that?!”
Chen Changsheng said: “I won’t make you work for nothing.”
“Hmm?”
Hearing this, the Black Pagoda paused. “Make it something solid. Forget about promising me freedom.”
“I can’t think of anything right now. You suggest it.”
“Um…”
The Black Pagoda hummed thoughtfully, pondering.
He hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Alright. I’ll help you with this sword. In return, you help me break the first seal on my Pagoda body.”
“A seal?” Chen Changsheng paused.
The Black Pagoda explained: “It’s that circle of Ancient Script outside the Pagoda. I want your help, but don’t ask me why, and I won’t tell you. You know me, I know you. We both keep things hidden… things that can’t see the light.”
Chen Changsheng narrowed his eyes upon hearing this.
The Black Pagoda was startled. He faintly felt a trace of killing intent radiating from Chen Changsheng.
Different from before, this time it was calm, but that made the Black Pagoda even more afraid. He knew Chen Changsheng was genuinely serious this time.
In a moment of silence, the killing intent quickly disappeared.
Chen Changsheng said: “I agree.”
The Black Pagoda also breathed a sigh of relief.
Chen Changsheng sensed his Soul Flame was about to go out and spoke: “Formation…”
Just as he was about to use the Decree Art, he suddenly froze.
Heaven and Earth could not resonate here.
A slight pause crossed Chen Changsheng’s mind. He’d have to use another method.
“Thankfully, I learned a bit about sealing Formation Arrays from Friend Xiao.”
Chen Changsheng then drew a circle of Ancient Script in the air with his finger.
He lifted the Black Pagoda. Immediately, he heard the Black Pagoda’s terrified voice: “Hey! What are you doing?!”
Chen Changsheng answered: “Taking precautions.”
Then, the Black Pagoda was sealed beneath the mountain where the Demon Sword stood.
The Black Pagoda yelled: “Chen! You are absolutely shameless!!”
Chen Changsheng laughed. “Work hard. I will come back for you later. And what I promised, I will keep.”
“Get lost!”
The Black Pagoda looked over.
He saw Chen Changsheng’s figure suddenly become hazy and insubstantial.
Within that hazy figure, specks like Grain of Sand drifted out before dissipating completely.
The Black Pagoda was stunned. “What kind of… Divine Ability is that?”
He didn’t understand, but didn’t think too deeply.
His gaze returned to the Demon Sword atop the mountain, staring for a long time.
The Demon Sword stood high on the mountain.
The Black Pagoda sat deep below.
It felt like… they were old acquaintances reunited after a long time.
…
Qingshan City, Chuanfeng Lane.
The orchids in the courtyard were blooming beautifully.
Ruyi squatted in front of a potted orchid, frowning. “So strange… Spring orchids flowering in this season…”
Yun Xiang stood nearby, holding Lihua. She said, “Ruyi, you should learn about flowers and plants when you have the time. It’s useful.”
Ruyi stood up and smiled. “I’ll definitely learn when I have time.”
She immediately grabbed Yun Xiang’s hand. “Sister Yun! Come here! I want to show you this new thing I’ve been practicing! It’s so powerful!”
Yun Xiang covered her mouth with a laugh and let herself be pulled along.
However, Ruyi’s clumsy moves weren’t anything impressive.
Lihua watched Ruyi’s awkward punches and kicks and couldn’t help but yawn.
“Lihua! No yawning! Watch properly!”
“Not watching. Ruyi is clumsy.”
“?”
Ruyi thought she wouldn’t bring fish for Lihua tomorrow.
Lihua glanced at her and yawned again.
Yun Xiang watched the girl and the cat bicker, her own heart warmed by joy. Everything was peaceful.
Ruyi continued her practice.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded outside the gate, stopping right at the entrance.
Yun Xiang turned and saw a figure standing in the doorway, dressed in tight black martial attire and wearing a wide bamboo hat.
The person stepped inside and reached up to remove the hat.
Revealing sharp features, sword-like brows, and stars for eyes – a handsome young master.
Ruyi was stunned. “Who are you looking for?”
The visitor’s gaze moved to the potted orchid in the courtyard. “My flower is here.”
“Your flower?”
Ruyi caught on. “Ah! You… You’re the Master Uncle Chen found for me?”
Lan Ting looked at her. “So you’re the one to teach?”
“Ah…”
Ruyi nodded dumbly, then blurted: “But… Uncle Chen said my Master was a woman?”
Lan Ting looked at her and smiled. “I am a woman.”
“Ah?”
Not only Ruyi was shocked, Yun Xiang was stunned too.
A woman?
It was seriously hard to tell!
Only Lihua kept staring at Lan Ting. Coming to its senses, the cat moved closer to Yun Xiang’s ear and whispered a few words.
Yun Xiang seemed to understand after hearing them and stepped forward. “Greetings, Lady Lan Ting.”
Lan Ting’s gaze shifted to the cat. “I’ve heard about you from Zhusheng. Do you want to follow me?”
Lihua shook its head. “Lihua can follow anyone. But no one can make Lihua follow them.”
Lan Ting chuckled. “I like cats like you. I’ll teach you something too, if there’s a chance.”
