Immortal Ascension Through Marriage: Investing in My Wife Get Returns
Chapter 394 - 393
A young woman in a pale blue gown stood upon the back of a Golden Immortal Beast, wielding a dark bow that radiated the terrifying light of the sun. Every time she released an arrow, a demon fell, and the space around her became brighter as the accumulated solar energy consumed the surrounding miasma.
Beside her stood Lin Yuan.
The young cultivator in crimson robes appeared almost completely relaxed. He was not unleashing any elaborate technique or desperately defending himself against the incoming enemies.
He was simply watching his wife fight.
Emperor Tianxu’s golden eyes widened.
"That aura..."
He could sense the extraordinary power radiating from the Sun Shooting Bow, but what truly astonished him was the way Bai Qingyue controlled it. Her cultivation remained at the Core Formation realm, yet she was destroying Void Refinement Demon Kings with an efficiency that even he could not easily reproduce.
More astonishingly, her fortune seemed to guide the course of every battle.
Attacks that should have struck her missed by narrow margins. Demons that attempted to evade her arrows repeatedly found themselves moving into unfavorable positions, while their defensive techniques failed at precisely the moments when they needed them most.
It was as though the battlefield itself had begun favoring her.
Emperor Tianxu swallowed.
"She is only at the Core Formation realm..."
Nearby, Emperor Nanheng wiped the blood from her cheek and stared upward in disbelief.
"That cannot be right," she murmured. "Even if the bow is a Divine-grade artifact, controlling it should require an extraordinary foundation. How can she unleash such power without suffering a backlash?"
Emperor Beiming, whose Black Tortoise barrier had nearly collapsed moments earlier, slowly lowered his hands.
"The weapon appears to have accepted her completely," he observed. "Its power is circulating through her without disrupting her spiritual Qi. Whatever method she used to bind it, the result is far beyond ordinary weapon synchronization."
He paused, his expression growing grave.
"If she can continue firing at this pace, she may be able to change the situation around the Grand Court. But we should not assume that the demons will allow her to keep attacking freely."
His words proved correct almost immediately.
The surviving Demon Kings had stopped charging blindly.
They were still furious, but their earlier arrogance had been replaced by caution. Several had witnessed their companions perish beneath the solar arrows, and none of them wished to become the next target.
One of the larger demons emerged from the distant ranks.
Its body was covered in thick black armor, and a pair of enormous horns curved backward from its skull. The demonic aura surrounding it was considerably denser than that of the enemies Bai Qingyue had killed so far.
It did not immediately attack.
Instead, it stared at the Golden Immortal Beast, its blood-red eyes fixed upon Bai Qingyue and the Sun Shooting Bow.
"That weapon is troublesome," it growled.
Another Demon King approached from the side.
"We should surround her. If we attack from multiple directions, she will not be able to focus on every target."
"And what if she destroys us before we get close?" the first demon replied coldly.
The second Demon King fell silent.
Their hesitation was understandable.
The Sun Shooting Bow had already demonstrated enough power to threaten Void Refinement experts, and Bai Qingyue’s fortune made it difficult to predict the outcome of any direct confrontation. A careless attack could result in another Demon King dying before it had a chance to use its strongest abilities.
Yet they could not simply retreat.
The Ten Thousand Devil Kill Order had been issued by Bai Sha, and the rewards for killing Lin Yuan and Bai Qingyue were extraordinary. Failure would bring consequences of its own, while success could grant them power and status far beyond what they currently possessed.
The demons needed another approach.
Finally, one of them spoke.
"We will force her to divide her attention. Attack the Golden Immortal Beast, and target the monk and the crimson-robed cultivator. If she attempts to protect them, we will find an opening."
The other Demon Kings exchanged glances.
It was a dangerous plan, but it offered a possibility of success.
They immediately began spreading out, preparing to launch coordinated attacks from several directions. Demonic energy gathered around their bodies, and the sky darkened as their combined pressure spread across the battlefield.
Lin Yuan noticed the change.
His expression remained calm, but the golden-purple thunder around his fingers became brighter. Silver-blue rain gathered in the air, responding to the subtle movement of his Dao Fruit.
The demons had finally begun to understand that Bai Qingyue was not an easy target.
That meant the next stage of the battle would be more dangerous.
Bai Qingyue sensed the shift as well. She tightened her grip on the Sun Shooting Bow, while the Weapon Spirit’s voice rang through her consciousness.
Master, they are changing their formation. Several powerful enemies are preparing to attack from different directions.
Bai Qingyue’s gaze swept across the approaching demons.
How many can we handle?
The spirit paused for a brief moment, apparently examining the surrounding battlefield through the bow’s perception.
If we conserve our energy and choose our targets carefully, quite a few. However, we should avoid wasting the accumulated solar resonance on weaker enemies.
Bai Qingyue nodded.
She understood that the spirit was right. Although the Sun Shooting Bow possessed extraordinary destructive power, she still needed to manage its energy efficiently. The demons could continue sending enemies toward them for as long as their numbers remained overwhelming.
She could not afford to waste every arrow.
Instead, she would target the most dangerous opponents first.
Bai Qingyue raised the bow once more.
The dark star-iron glowed beneath her fingers, and the ancient runes began to shine with a steady solar radiance. Behind her, Lin Yuan watched silently, his expression carrying a trace of pride.
His wife had already proven that she could stand against enemies far above her cultivation realm.
Now, with the Sun Shooting Bow awakened and the Weapon Spirit assisting her, she possessed the means to turn that ability into something even more terrifying.
