The silver rings expanded until they covered the entire mountain range, their surfaces reflecting countless overlapping images of the surrounding world. Lin Yuan could see the ancient trees, the broken mountains, and even the three enormous demonic corpses reflected within them, yet the images were not simple illusions.

Each ring represented a different spatial relationship, and as they rotated, the distance between every object in the clearing began to change according to a pattern that Lin Yuan had never encountered before.

The mountain beneath his feet suddenly seemed both near and impossibly distant. The three demonic corpses, which had been lying only a short distance away, appeared to stretch toward the horizon, while the ancient trees behind them grew so large that their branches seemed to extend beyond the boundaries of the Sacred Grounds.

Lin Yuan remained where he stood, allowing his Dao Fruit to circulate as he examined the phenomenon, but his deep purple eyes gradually narrowed when he discovered that the distortions were not spreading randomly.

Sha Luo had not created an ordinary spatial domain. She was using the existing spatial structure of the Sacred Grounds as the foundation of her technique, connecting different regions through the ancient laws that still survived beneath the damaged realm.

Rather than imposing her own arrangements upon the world, she was identifying relationships that already existed and changing how those relationships interacted, allowing her to manipulate the distance between objects without directly destroying the space separating them.

This was a fundamentally different approach from the techniques employed by her younger siblings. Xie Luo had forced spatial coordinates into the surrounding laws, Hei Zang had attempted to bind those coordinates, and Mo Yan had hidden himself within the shadows produced by the resulting distortions. Sha Luo, however, was not fighting against the spatial structure of the Sacred Grounds at all, and the realization made Lin Yuan’s expression considerably more serious.

"Interesting," Lin Yuan murmured, watching one of the silver rings pass through a mountain without disturbing a single stone. "Your younger brothers treated space as something they could manipulate, but you seem to understand that the space around us already possesses its own arrangements. You are not creating new connections, nor are you simply forcing existing coordinates to obey your will. Instead, you are changing the relationships between the connections themselves."

Sha Luo’s crimson eyes flickered with a trace of surprise. She had expected Lin Yuan to recognize that her technique was different from those of her siblings, but she had not anticipated that he would identify its underlying principle after observing it for only a few breaths. Nevertheless, the surprise disappeared almost immediately, replaced by the same cold composure she had displayed when she first arrived, and the silver rings around her wrists began to rotate faster.

"Your comprehension is certainly as extraordinary as the reports claimed," Sha Luo replied, raising her right hand until her palm faced the sky. "However, understanding the structure of a technique does not mean that you can overcome it. My younger brothers relied upon their individual abilities, and each of them had weaknesses that could be exploited by someone with sufficient insight, but I have spent countless years studying the spatial foundation of the Hollow Beyond and the Nine Provinces."

She slowly closed her fingers, and the silver rings immediately changed direction. "The space you inhabit is not something you can simply destroy and replace, Lin Yuan. It is a structure composed of countless relationships, each connected to another through laws that existed long before either of us was born. You may understand a portion of those relationships, but unless you can perceive the entire structure, you will never escape the domain I have established."

The moment her words ended, the world around Lin Yuan folded inward.

There was no explosion, nor did a violent spatial storm appear above the mountains. Instead, the distance between Lin Yuan and Sha Luo abruptly ceased to follow its previous arrangement, causing the two figures to become separated by an immeasurable stretch of space despite remaining only a few hundred feet apart.

The silver rings rotated once, and the ground beneath Lin Yuan’s feet seemed to slide away from him, carrying the surrounding mountains and forests into a different spatial relationship.

Lin Yuan’s body remained perfectly still, but his expression changed. He could sense the spatial coordinates beneath his feet shifting continuously, and every time he attempted to establish a stable connection with the surrounding environment, Sha Luo altered the arrangement before his technique could take effect.

It was not that she had sealed his ability to move, as Hei Zang had attempted to do, but that she was constantly changing what his movements would mean.

If Lin Yuan stepped forward, the distance he crossed would be added to the distance separating him from his destination. If he stepped backward, the space behind him might fold inward and return him to his original position.

Even teleportation would be dangerous, because the coordinates he selected could be rearranged before his body completed the transition, leaving him vulnerable to the spatial turbulence between two incompatible locations.

Sha Luo watched him calmly from the other side of the distorted landscape. "Do you understand now? Your movement techniques rely upon identifying a destination and establishing a relationship between your current position and that destination. My technique changes that relationship before you can complete the movement, meaning that the faster you try to escape, the more opportunities you give me to interfere with your trajectory."

Lin Yuan did not immediately respond. Instead, he closed his eyes for a brief moment and allowed his Dao Fruit to circulate more deeply, causing silver-blue rain and golden-purple thunder to spread through his perception.

He was not attempting to force his way out of the domain, because doing so would require him to confront an opponent whose understanding of the spatial structure was considerably more advanced than his own, and he had no intention of repeating the mistakes that had led to his earlier enemies’ deaths.

The first thing he examined was the relationship between Sha Luo’s silver rings and the surrounding environment. Each ring corresponded to a different arrangement of spatial connections, but the arrangements were not completely independent, because the changes made by one ring affected the possibilities available to the others.

Whenever a ring altered the distance between two locations, the surrounding rings adjusted to accommodate the change, creating a continuous circulation that allowed the domain to remain stable despite its constant transformations.
