Immortal Ascension Through Marriage: Investing in My Wife Get Returns
Chapter 315 - 314: Ten Demon Kings (2)
"Lin Yuan?"
"The cultivator who killed three Demon Kings?"
"Wasn’t he supposed to be in the Sacred Grounds?"
"Then why haven’t we seen him?"
The questions spread through the gathering, but nobody could provide an answer.
Far away, beyond the region where the ten Demon Kings had appeared, the ancient laws continued to circulate through the Sacred Grounds.
The realm itself remained vast and mysterious, its preserved mountains and rivers stretching across countless spatial layers. The pressure that had descended from the Nine Heavens Ward had not reached every region equally, and many cultivators were still unaware that ten terrifying enemies had entered the area.
However, the ten Demon Kings were not searching blindly.
They had already obtained information about their targets.
They knew that Lin Yuan and Bai Qingyue had entered the Sacred Grounds. They also knew that the ancient realm contained numerous spatial pockets, some of which were connected through coordinates that could not be detected by ordinary spiritual sense.
The problem was finding the correct one.
The Sacred Grounds were not a simple realm with a single entrance and a fixed interior.
They were the remnants of an ancient Dongtian, a preserved world whose spatial structure had been damaged during a catastrophe so old that even the surviving records of that era contained only fragments of the truth.
Over countless years, its damaged foundations had developed countless distortions.
Some regions overlapped without physically touching. Others were separated by layers of space that appeared identical to the naked eye. There were places where a person could walk through a forest for an entire day and return to the same tree without realizing that they had crossed the boundary between two different spatial layers.
Even Void Refinement experts could become lost if they entered without sufficient understanding of spatial laws.
Finding a particular person within such a place was difficult enough.
Finding someone who possessed extraordinary comprehension and knew how to conceal himself within an ancient domain was another matter entirely.
That was why four of the ten Demon Kings had chosen to work together.
They were siblings.
Although they had inherited different appearances and cultivated different techniques, their bloodlines originated from the same ancient spatial demon. Their powers complemented one another, and when they worked together, they could locate spatial distortions that even other Demon Kings overlooked.
The eldest was a woman named Sha Luo.
She had long black hair, crimson eyes, and a pair of silver earrings shaped like crescent moons. Her cultivation had reached the Late Stage of Demon King, and her mastery of spatial laws was profound enough that she could cross enormous distances without leaving behind a clear trace.
The second sibling, Hei Zang, was a lean man with pale skin and a pair of dark blue eyes.
The third, Mo Yan, appeared to be a young man dressed in white, but the aura around him was cold and oppressive.
The youngest was named Xie Luo.
He possessed a slender build, dark green hair, and a pair of narrow eyes that resembled the eyes of a venomous creature. Unlike his siblings, who had focused on spatial movement and concealment, he had devoted himself to the laws of distortion, allowing him to twist the space around his body and conceal even his most dangerous attacks.
Together, the four siblings had earned a reputation within the Hollow Beyond as the Four Spatial Calamities.
They had once trapped an entire army of cultivators inside a collapsing spatial domain and left only a handful alive. They had also infiltrated several heavily guarded territories without triggering a single defensive formation.
Their greatest strength was not their individual cultivation.
It was their ability to cooperate.
When the four siblings departed from the region where the Nine Heavens Ward had cracked, they did not immediately scatter in different directions like the other Demon Kings.
Instead, their bodies flickered simultaneously.
The space around them folded inward, creating a narrow tunnel that swallowed their figures before the surrounding laws could fully react.
Within the tunnel, light and shadow flowed together.
Countless spatial coordinates appeared around them like stars scattered across a dark sky. Some were bright and stable, while others flickered unpredictably, their positions changing whenever the surrounding laws shifted.
The tunnel itself was not a conventional passage.
It was a route constructed from the relationship between four different spatial techniques. Each sibling maintained a particular point of reference, and the four points formed a stable structure that allowed them to move through the damaged layers without being thrown into random regions.
At the center of the tunnel, Xie Luo sat cross-legged.
His eyes were closed, and his hands rested on his knees. Fine strands of dark green energy extended from his fingertips, weaving through the surrounding space and connecting with the coordinates that appeared before him.
His three siblings stood around him.
Sha Luo watched the shifting coordinates with a thoughtful expression.
"How long until we find the correct location?"
Xie Luo did not immediately answer.
His fingers moved slightly, and the tunnel trembled as several spatial layers shifted around them.
"Not long."
His voice was calm.
"Their location is difficult to trace because the Sacred Grounds contain numerous overlapping pockets. However, I have discovered something interesting."
Hei Zang folded his arms.
"What?"
Xie Luo opened his eyes.
"These pockets are not independent."
The other three siblings turned toward him.
Xie Luo raised one hand, and several faint lines appeared in the darkness. They formed a complicated network of interconnected points, each one representing a spatial pocket within the ancient realm.
"Look carefully."
His fingers moved, and the lines rearranged themselves.
"Most people who enter the Sacred Grounds believe they are traveling through a vast realm. They assume that the different regions are separated by distance, and that reaching another region requires crossing the space between them."
He shook his head.
"That is only partially correct."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"The spatial pockets are connected through direct coordinates. Some are linked by ancient passages, while others are connected through the underlying structure of the realm itself. The distance between two locations is not always determined by the distance we see."
Mo Yan studied the lines.
"You mean we can reach a distant region without traveling through the space between us?"
"Precisely."
Xie Luo pointed toward a cluster of dim coordinates.
"These locations are separated by thousands of kilometers according to their visible positions, yet their foundational coordinates are almost adjacent. If one understands the relationship between them, crossing the distance is as simple as stepping through a doorway."
Hei Zang’s expression changed.
"Then the people who constructed this realm must have possessed terrifying mastery over spatial laws."
"That is one possibility," Xie Luo replied. "Another is that the realm itself developed this structure over countless years. A damaged Dongtian can produce strange spatial relationships when its foundations no longer function as intended."
Sha Luo looked at the network of coordinates for several breaths.
"And you have found the location of our targets?"
"Not yet."
Xie Luo’s answer was immediate.
"However, I have narrowed the possibilities."
He extended his fingers, and the network contracted until only a few dozen coordinates remained visible.
"These are the regions where the ancient laws are most complete. If Lin Yuan possesses the comprehension reported by our sources, he would not waste his time in an ordinary region. He would choose a place where the laws are sufficiently stable to support his cultivation."
Mo Yan nodded slowly.
"That makes sense."
Xie Luo’s eyes narrowed.
"More importantly, the two of them are not alone. The woman possesses a karmic connection to Lin Yuan, and their Heaven and Earth luck appears to be intertwined. Searching for the man alone may not reveal their location. It would be better to search for the combined fluctuation of their foundations."
Sha Luo’s gaze sharpened.
"You can distinguish their connection?"
"I can distinguish the spatial disturbance created by it."
Xie Luo spread his fingers.
A faint image appeared before them.
It was incomplete, formed from overlapping shadows and broken lines of light, but it revealed a region of ancient mountains surrounded by a vast network of spatial coordinates.
The image flickered several times before stabilizing.
Xie Luo’s expression gradually became serious.
"There."
