I'm the Only Magus in This Witch World
Chapter 121: Grinding Stat Points (Part 2)
As soon as they saw a bulky man approaching leisurely, his hands in his pockets, they bowed their heads and greeted him in one synchronized voice. "Lord Titus."
The oldest one among them took the responsibility to speak. "Young Lord is currently at the training area, exercising."
Titus had already shifted his eyes to the weapon shaft as he looked at him, narrowing his eyes against the sun coming from above. "How long has he been there doing that?"
He already looked quite surprised seeing him practice with two heavy maces using his dagger moves.
It was the first time he was seeing the boy train this eagerly and hard, as he was covered in sweat.
His surprise then turned to bewilderment at the answer from the maid.
"He has been practicing for around 1 hour. He just took a short break and returned to practicing again not too long ago."
"1 hour?" Titus raised his eyebrows, not quite able to believe it.
He was just taken aback, wondering how he could have that much endurance and stamina in his body to keep up heavy training like that for so long.
He decided to watch as well, to see if the maids were mistaken.
But as his training hit the 1 hour mark and even passed it, approaching 2 hours, Titus couldn’t believe his eyes anymore. ’What kind of body does he really have?’
He was quite sure he wasn’t this durable before.
Especially since he had watched him during Magna’s escape from the red lizards, when after running a little, his body had failed him, leaving him breathless until he could no longer run.
Now, comparing that time to what he was seeing now, he realized that compared to before, he now had at least 4, maybe 5 times more endurance.
Not even mentioning his strength, which let him move those heavy weapons so easily.
Also, Titus realized that as Magna kept moving the weapons, instead of getting more tired as time passed, he looked like the weights in his hands were getting lighter, moving them more and more comfortably.
’Hey, hey, don’t tell me his bloodline trait is actually similar to mine?’ Titus felt his view of the boy was gaining a new enlightenment.
A physical bloodline trait that strengthens the body over time was already rare, and Titus’s own was the type that gave him power as he grew older.
But looking at Magna gaining physical strength this fast was making his bloodline trait seem 100, even 1000 times stronger than what Titus had.
He saw Magna finally decide to take a rest, dropping the weapons on the ground and sitting down, so he started walking toward him.
"I see you finally decided to work your muscles." He called out casually as he approached.
Magna had already noticed his presence approaching and turned his head without surprise. "Yeah."
He watched as Titus came close, standing in front of him like a mountain, blocking out the sun.
He, without saying a word, just bent down and picked up the two maces from the ground.
’He’s not thinking of hitting me with those, is he?’ Magna felt slightly tense, watching the man move the two weapons in his hands as if measuring their weight.
Luckily, it wasn’t what he thought, as Titus put the weapons back down, a slight look of surprise on his face.
He then asked, looking down at him. "Do you want to practice with me? That way you can also improve your fighting."
Magna wasn’t surprised by his offer, since he would ask him to train from time to time.
But this time there was something strange in his behavior, as he was looking friendlier than before.
His behavior had actually been like that ever since Magna saved Faye.
Since that day, Titus never again looked at him with hate and disgust, but with a look that had already accepted his existence in the mansion.
Magna wanted to weigh this new change in him and replied. "Yeah, that would be good."
During his training his strength had already risen to 32, and even his stamina had risen by 1 more, which was a good surprise since it was already high.
Though his agility and reaction stayed the same, which made him realize he needed to change his training to make it suitable for those stats as well.
If he kept his weight training while now having someone he could fight against, he figured he would maybe start grinding those stats as well.
"Good." Titus smiled as he reached out his hand to help him rise to his feet from where he sat.
"You can keep using them, since it seems to work for training your muscles and stamina." He advised, also picking up the two maces from the ground and handing them to him.
Magna felt quite taken aback by his extra kindness this time, but just nodded without showing it.
After he stepped back a little, he said. "Come attack me while I defend myself."
He didn’t take any stance, but Magna didn’t wait for him to take one either, as he just took his own stance, holding the maces like two daggers, and attacked.
The extra weight in his hands didn’t seem to slow him much, as he rushed toward Titus quite fast and moved his weapons for a direct hit to his legs, which were currently his weak points.
"You really don’t know what a practice spar means, do you?" Titus laughed as he simply raised his leg slightly to meet the mace coming in fast.
He gave a slight kick to the heavy spiked ball, and a loud bang echoed through the training ground.
Magna, feeling his balance thrown off, was sent flying backward, almost falling to the ground before catching himself at the last second.
Looking at Titus’s still calm, smiling face, and the slight tear in his leather pants where the mace had landed, but not even a scratch on his skin, he realized once again one thing.
’Just how strong is this man?’ He wanted so much to see the full extent of the man’s physical strength.
