Chapter 102: The Farm Is Gone

’Oh, she can tell?’ Magna was quite surprised hearing Rowena’s words.

He had felt lucky so far that no one had realized he was using a defensive spell, but it looked like Rowena was about to figure it out.

Fortunately her interest seemed to vanish in an instant, she turned to Celeste. "Let’s go now while Sable is gone. I don’t have much mana left to keep fighting."

Having partially succeeded in their mission to find the children and capture the Faceless Witch, they didn’t want to risk their lives any further.

Though still feeling that something was wrong with Sable’s sudden disappearance, Celeste nodded in agreement.

It was already a miracle that no one on their side had died, so keeping it that way was the best possible outcome.

However, Renna’s next words caught them off guard for a moment.

"Grandmother, we found something while trying to escape from here. There is a big Golden Sunberry farm a little further ahead," she said, pointing in its direction.

"A Golden Sunberry farm?" Rowena and Celeste locked eyes for a moment, both realizing the exact same thing.

Why Sable had suddenly vanished, even leaving her Shadow behind, finally had an answer.

"How big is the farm exactly?" This time Celeste joined the talk.

"Probably bigger than our Marrow-Weed Larvae farm."

Her answer suddenly made the two Witches realize the scale of the situation.

Rowena didn’t even stay for another word as she just said "Corvo stay here." then she started to rush outside in the direction of the farm.

Celeste also leaving Titus behind with the children, followed behind.

It wasn’t greed that was driving them to rush like that, but a resource field that huge couldn’t be left to enemy hands.

At least they had to destroy all of them rather than let them be in Sable’s hands.

"We are late." Rowena spat with her brows furrowed, her eyes full of anger.

What she was looking at at that moment wasn’t any farm but a massive void standing in front of them.

The entire Golden Sunberry farm was completely gone, looking as if it had been uprooted and carried away along with its soil, leaving only a huge pit behind.

"Do you think she can keep the farm active in another place?" Celeste asked the 11th Trial Witch who was more experienced in these matters.

Rowena thought for a bit.

The farm was already big, as even its immediate yield could be used as a massive resource. But if Sable could place the farm somewhere else and find a way to continue farming without the products spoiling, it would be a perfect profit without losing a constant resource source.

"She is specialized in plant spells so it’s not impossible. But also not something that could be done easily and without cost." Rowena was quite sure if the person was the 12th Trial Witch, there was definitely a way she could find to just relocate the whole farm’s place without any loss.

"How could we not realize this place was here for so long?" Celeste felt her head start to ache, partly because her serene state had been active for too long, partly because of the annoying farm matter.

The place was especially close to Winterborn lands, even counted as inside them, but despite this, the enemy had somehow found the area and turned it into a huge farm without anyone hearing a soul.

She even started to blame herself for the fact that in her mother’s absence, she was actually the one who allowed this to happen.

"Don’t blame yourself for nothing." Rowena took a deep breath, suppressing her anger as she comforted her.

"Even if Lady Seraphina were here, it would be hard for her to detect a Time Witch’s barrier. It’s just Sable, as we all know, a sly and clever Witch. No one would guess she just found and hired a Witch from the outside."

There were a few families that followed the Matriarch of Time inside the two opposing alliances, but they were all under surveillance, so when they did something, the opposing alliance would find out immediately.

Just that the Faceless Witch was never under their radar and came secretly was the main point of how they succeeded in such a plan.

"Let’s go back. This is a big matter, so we should report it to the council." Rowena lastly said as she turned and started to walk.

Celeste gave one last look at the giant pit as she turned and followed her as well.

"How long has he been in this state?" Corvo, looking at Magna’s condition, asked with curiosity.

His facial features couldn’t be seen under his mask, but it was apparent he looked quite dumbfounded by the state of the boy in front of him.

"1 hour maybe?" Renna said with a pained expression. Just thinking he was under this kind of torture for that long was enough to make her feel more guilty and depressed.

"That sick Witch... Even her spells are all about torture." Titus spoke this time, his voice was calm thanks to the frost helmet he was wearing, but a slight anger could be felt from it.

If it was a spell to kill the boy, it would be better, as casting just a second spell to keep him alive during the process was definitely something a sick mind would do.

He was already angry at the Witch because of Faye, now seeing Magna’s condition, he just wanted to go to that ice block and shatter it to instantly kill the Witch right there.

While they kept watching him, the yellow mist was already in its last moments, slowly diminishing.

And at last, the last floating particles disappeared as well, then Magna finally deactivated his spell too.

"Ahhh I thought I was going to die." He immediately stretched to relax his whole stiff body.

He was also trying to act like a scared, terrified child who had just survived death, making his face look scared.

Though he couldn’t keep that face long as suddenly Renna rushed to him and hugged him tightly. "You are really fine..."

It was quite a surprise for Magna to suddenly be hugged this way as he gave an awkward response. "Yeah. Lucky? I guess?"

"Renna, be careful, the spell seems to not be completely ended." Corvo with a tone of slight worry reached out his hand, putting it on her shoulder and pulling her away from the boy.

Titus was also thinking the same thing. "His eyes still haven’t turned back to normal."

What were normally dark brown eyes were now completely golden in color, as the cause for them could only be the effect of the spell.

Renna paused for a moment, not knowing what to say, as she just looked at Magna like that to let him speak.

Magna didn’t know what to say either, so he just said in a slightly surprised tone, ’My eyes turned gold? Cool.’’

He just wasn’t sure yet if it was time to reveal the secret he told Renna.

If possible, he preferred that only Celeste and Titus learned it first, as Corvo was still a stranger he couldn’t trust.
