All the alliance members were thinking the same thing. The last time Miu had been in a good mood felt like...

(Group) FUNK: he’s still like that?

(Group) 1Poop1: yeah...

(Group) FUNK: im seriously asking bc this is weird why is Miu in such a godawful mood

(Group) MouseTrap: omg right?? it’s not just me noticing, right T_T??

(Group) KimFactory: oh dear;;; my leader..

(Group) CheersInMyEyes: LOLLOLLOL T_T

...a past life.

When FUNK, who had just logged in, asked cautiously, the other alliance members immediately understood what he meant and used the nodding interaction. They were talking in a hastily made group chat that excluded Miu.

Miu, the leader of alliance <47>. He was a blunt man, a quiet man, a man whose reactions usually weren’t that big to begin with, but there had once been a stretch of time when he’d played the game in a distinctly good mood.

But starting the very next day, his mood had slowly sunk lower and lower, and now...

—BANG! BANG!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

(Group) GoodLuck: lordy~ he’s not even sniping he’s just...just blasting away?

(Group) KimFactory: my leader.. he’s not even zooming in... at that point isn’t that basically a pistol...

Whenever Miu practiced shooting in the alliance territory, he normally went for headshots only. But right now, he wasn’t even properly aiming his sniper rifle, just unloading on the scarecrow like a madman.

As if he were taking his anger out on it.

(Group) ShinJadu: he did start looking more and more upset yesterday...

Yesterday was when Miu’s mood had bottomed out completely.

All day long, people had called for him and he’d only stayed gone, not saying much of anything, so they’d had a bad feeling—and sure enough, his behavior had been strange too.

As if he intended to kill every zombie that spawned anywhere near him, he’d suddenly run off by himself and wiped them all out. He’d even beaten some player he met in the field half to death, badly enough that it got posted on the public shame board.

(X-1211) Posting proof of rude player Miu/<47>

Author: SwordWithWill

I was quietly farming and he suddenly rushed me, killed me, and took everything

And as if that wasn’t enough, I don’t even know how he figured out my respawn spot, but he followed me there and kept killing me, isn’t this too much? Posting proof

what exactly did I do?

LOL for real this is basically gather-round tattletale club

Of course, it really wasn’t a big deal. The person gathering had mistaken Miu—who was killing zombies nearby—for another gatherer and said something snide, and Miu, seeing that, had responded by chasing the guy around like a lunatic and killing him over and over without saying a single word.

This was the X-1211 server. Something like this was nothing. Even the mood on the board was more along the lines of wasn’t the author the one in the wrong?

(Group) FUNK: these days he usually doesnt care enough about other people to do that tho

(Group) KimFactory: my leader really must be in a bad mood;;

(Group) ShinJadu: nothing serious happened to him right..?

Maybe in the old days, sure, but lately Miu had been the type to let that kind of thing slide.

So the alliance members who had watched his behavior all this time could tell Miu had been in a bad mood lately. Just as the members chatting secretly in the group DM were starting to get a little worried—

(Alliance) 0momo0: helloooo!~!

0momo0 appeared.

(Alliance) ShinJadu: hello Momo

(Alliance) MouseTrap: hiii!!!

(Alliance) FUNK: hi hi hi

(Alliance) 1Poop1: hello

0momo0 bounced in cheerfully. He was still suspected of being a spy, but by now he’d blended into <47> pretty well.

And, as always, the moment 0momo0 showed up, he charged straight at Miu.

(Alliance) 0momo0: Miuuuuu

(Alliance) 0momo0: >_<

The alliance members wondered whether they ought to warn 0momo0 that Miu was in a bad mood today, but it was already too late.

(Alliance) 0momo0: are you practicing your shooting??

Mo Yeonhoo ran over to the range, pattering forward, and—as always—latched himself right beside Miu, who was sexily firing his gun.

But Miu didn’t answer. Watching his profile as he kept aiming at the target without a word, Mo Yeonhoo tilted his head.

—BANG! BANG BANG!

He snuck a glance ahead. Miu was always someone who aimed with exquisite precision, but right now he was just blasting away at the scarecrow.

(Alliance) 0momo0: wow is this a new technique?!

(Alliance) 0momo0: it’s so cool!!!

(Alliance) 0momo0: it’s not a sniper rifle it’s like a shotgun!!

Well, so what. Wasn’t this Miyoung too? Even the way he reloaded and then started firing like a madman looked cool. But Miu still gave no response while Mo Yeonhoo babbled one ridiculous compliment after another.

Thinking that, for some reason, today felt especially strange, Mo Yeonhoo cautiously asked,

(Alliance) 0momo0: do you remember we were gonna do Sky Terror today??

(Alliance) 0momo0: my promise with you..>_<!!!

That chat made Miu react. He stopped firing, stood tall, and this time didn’t reload again.

Mo Yeonhoo brightened at once, thinking they were about to head out now.

(Alliance) Miu: We promised we’d do Sky Terror, right

(Alliance) 0momo0: yep!!! a promise~~!!

(Alliance) Miu: Right, a promise

(Alliance) Miu: Because it’s a promise

(Alliance) Miu: Promises are meant to be kept, right?

(Alliance) 0momo0: yes exactly!!

(Alliance) 0momo0: promises are precious!!!

(Alliance) Miu: Then

Answering obediently up to that point, Mo Yeonhoo blinked at the next line.

(Alliance) Miu: what do you think of people who make promises and don’t keep them

Was it his imagination, or did it feel like he was putting extra weight on the word promise?

Mo Yeonhoo found it a little odd, but he answered without thinking much of it. He just assumed Ms. Miyoung must have felt like making small talk today.

(Alliance) 0momo0: maybe they had a reason!!

(Alliance) Miu: A reason?

(Alliance) 0momo0: yes!

(Alliance) Miu: But you said promises are precious

Something about this conversation was...

(Alliance) Miu: No matter what other reason there is, if promises are precious then you should keep them

(Alliance) 0momo0: but still.... if there’s like a reason then maybe listen first..

(Alliance) Miu: What if you can’t hear it?

(Alliance) 0momo0: then... you should still ask properly...?

(Alliance) Miu: What if they make it so you can’t even ask?

(Alliance) 0momo0: uh.......

(Alliance) Miu: What if they don’t give you the chance???

It was starting to feel like this was going somewhere a little strange.

When Miu fully turned his attention toward 0momo0 and spoke, Mo Yeonhoo seriously scanned through the chat window.

And the conclusion he came to was:

Does he not want to go on the raid?

The more he looked at it, the more that seemed to be the answer. Sure, there were parts that felt a little suspicious, but other than thinking Miu was trying to come up with excuses because he didn’t want to go on the raid, nothing else came to mind.

If he doesn’t want to go, we don’t have to go.

Mo Yeonhoo rubbed his cheek awkwardly with his fingertips. He had spent the last four days working himself to the bone, training necromancer day and night and even looking up raid videos, all so they could go do Sky Terror together, but—

(Alliance) 0momo0: do you want to rest today, Miu??

(Alliance) 0momo0: I’m okay not going!!

Still, he had no intention of forcing someone who didn’t want to go.

Mo Yeonhoo fluttered around Miu’s side as if telling him not to feel pressured and said,

(Alliance) 0momo0: then let’s do Sky Terror when you feel like going!!!

(Alliance) 0momo0: I’ll just keep harvesting corn in the meantime!!!

He could just keep picking corn until then, or whatever.

Maybe Ms. Miyoung isn’t feeling great.

Even someone as slow to read the room as Mo Yeonhoo could tell Miu was different from usual right now.

Better to back off at times like this. If your cooking skill was high enough, it looked like you could make colorful popcorn instead of just plain popcorn—should he ask BBQ to make some and gift it to Ms. Miyoung?

He was a little disappointed they couldn’t go on the raid, but games were something you could play anytime, weren’t they? Thinking that, Mo Yeonhoo hummed to himself and started to step away so he wouldn’t get in Miu’s way, and then—

(Alliance) Miu: ♥♥

(Alliance) Miu: What do you mean, “when I feel like it”

Miu suddenly cursed, making him freeze.

(Alliance) Miu: Don’t you think about the person waiting?

(Alliance) Miu: How long am I supposed to wait?

Soon, Miu—who had already dropped out of combat stance without anyone noticing—slung his gun across his back, stared straight at Mo Yeonhoo, and sent him an invitation.

My baby rabbit...

Miu has invited you to the <Sky Terror> dungeon party. Would you like to accept?

YES

NO

(Alliance) Miu: Accept the invite

(Alliance) Miu: I’m keeping my promise

Had a big group maybe made a reservation at the café and then no-showed...?
