With a notification, my character appeared in the middle of a huge open lot.

Not knowing what I was supposed to do here, I just clicked anything, and I was fascinated.

Oh, looks like you can summon anything.

Zombie Village is a game where Siege War and PVP matter a lot, so you can summon not just buildings, but even gigantic boss zombies.

On top of that, it was fascinating that I could test not only my class skills, but even the alliance-territory weapon—the cannon—so I spent a long while clicking around, checking out what the training ground could do.

Oh right. My class first!

Before anything else, I needed to get familiar with my class. After a few clumsy swipes, I finally managed to open the class window.

Class Info

Class Name: Necromancer (Necromancer)

Trait: A dark-type class that fights by controlling flesh.

—Necromancer-only firearm. Uses soul fragments as bullets; on hit, the corpse is processed as a “mark.”

—A marked corpse (normal monster) becomes subordinate to the Necromancer and can later be revived. Bosses and above have a certain chance to trigger “Spirit Shock.”

Secondary Weapon (Summon): Skeleton

—Acts as a shield in the front line according to the master’s orders. Or focuses on close-range defense / counters.

Skills (Recommended skill tree is currently applied)

(Fold)

When I unfolded the skill window, a long list dropped down.

I tapped them one by one. Simple descriptions popped up, but they weren’t exactly kind.

There are so many things I can choose.

Out of all those skills, the ones I could actually use were limited, so picking was unbelievably hard.

I don’t know anything. There are way too many options.

Normally, the moment you change classes, you build your skill tree and run your character properly—but Mo Yeonhoo, who didn’t even know the game well and only got carried, had no way he’d allocated them right.

Mo Yeonhoo hurriedly searched on YouTube. And then he was startled.

“They use it completely differently?”

When he looked it up online, not a single Necromancer player was using the recommended skills.

He even found out there was an order you were supposed to use the skills in, and his mouth fell open.

Defense shred, attack shred, this amplification... what are they even saying? What is this?

Each skill had its own unique properties. It seemed like you had to build things so those properties linked smoothly.

Just—pick them.

Mo Yeonhoo copied a skill tree people said was commonly used these days, then diligently distributed his stats and tried running it.

Of course, that only made Mo Yeonhoo’s already pale face go even paler.

What am I even looking at?

Because running the damage rotation was harder than he’d expected—no, far harder.

There was so much to do as a Necromancer. I tracked the skill list with my eyes, decided this wasn’t going to work, and played a video, but it was worse than not listening at all.

—Alright, alright, first you throw a wide-area mark on the trash mobs~ then you put a targeted mark on the boss with Death Shot! Oh, it landed, right? Then don’t slack off—watch the timing and apply your stun skill! If you break the pattern and pop Shock, our DPS dealers get to pour damage in, right? Now there’s no time to breathe~ before the dead bodies disappear, shoot the subjugation skill~ when your cooldowns are back, call the legion!

“......?”

And that still wasn’t the end.

—And every time you see it, use Chain to bind the mobs and deliver them, and when your health drops, gulp down your legion! Big drain, fill your HP~ ah right, your body’s paper-thin, so even if your Skeleton protects you, you need to put up your own shield and survive, okay? If you do this a bit, your cooldowns come back. Then you throw marks on the trash mobs again.......

“......??”

Mo Yeonhoo thought:

Was the Necromancer not one person, but a group?

Wouldn’t it feel like this if you tried to sing a six-member idol group’s song all by yourself?

I couldn’t just sit here despairing. If I’d come to the training ground, I had to try.

With slow hands, fumbling around, Mo Yeonhoo ditched the recommended skills and refitted himself with the latest skill setup people were using these days.

Then he slowly wrote it down by hand and stuck the memo next to the monitor.

“So the order is Q, S, Q, A, D, R, E, Shift, A, W......?”

But then—why, when you restarted sometimes—

“Why does S show up?”

Confused, Mo Yeonhoo started memorizing the keys anyway.

Well, of course it was hard. Necromancer had a lot of chained skills, and you had to calculate every cooldown, too—its damage rotation was notoriously complex.

And you’re telling me I’m supposed to lure zombies with this [N O V E L I G H T] toy gun?

On top of that, it was horrifying to learn that this gun—the one with terrible handling, the one you couldn’t believe didn’t have BB pellets in it—was incredibly important to a Necromancer.

“The gun is subjugation, aggro, stun.......”

A Necromancer’s gun could leave a mark on a boss to apply debuffs, or pull aggro.

And if you wanted to lure a boss’s legion into becoming your legion, you had to land shots with this gun to make that happen, too.

But then what was the point if—

(Notification) miss! miss!

“Wow. I can’t hit a single shot.”

How was that even possible?

At an aim skill so astonishing it felt like art, Mo Yeonhoo couldn’t help but sigh.

But if that were all, he wouldn’t be this desperate.

(Notification) Skeleton (Lv.80) is waiting for orders.

(Notification) Skeleton (Lv.80) uses “Memory’s Sunset”!

(Notification) Skeleton (Lv.80) is in combat-rest state.

(Notification) Skeleton (Lv.80) is waiting for orders.

(Notification) Skeleton (Lv.80) is waiting for orders.

The Skeleton kept chirping at him to give it commands, and he had to cycle his skills in order, so his head was spinning—

(Notification) HP is low! Recover blood immediately!

(Notification) HP is low! Recover blood immediately!

(Notification) Warning! Vitality is below 10%. You may die to the next attack.

(Notification) Warning! Vitality is below 5%. You may die to the next attack.

On top of everything, he had to refill his HP, and he had to use shields to defend.

Mo Yeonhoo smashed keys like a madman, beating on monsters, then stared at his already-dead character with a face gone chalk-white.

He’d heard on YouTube that Necromancer was the class people picked only after they’d stagnated so hard they’d rotted, and now he finally understood why.

“This is abuse....”

Necromancer was a class you could only play if you were basically an octopus.

Shoot the gun, control the Skeleton, spam skills like crazy—and once you went into a raid, you had to deal with patterns, too.

Everything was hard, but the biggest problem was the gun.

The main thing for a Necromancer was shooting zombies to apply marks and turn them into your underlings, and he couldn’t do it.

Of course, Mo Yeonhoo didn’t know this, but the Necromancer gun was infamous.

When are they ever going to change our gun?

But honestly Necros are gross lol if you can’t shoot so you can’t apply synergy it’s infuriating.. and when you grill them they always use the gun as an excuse lol the guns are all the same, isn’t it just a skill issue?

Is there anyone who lands this 100 out of 100 (except the YouTuber “Corpse” )???

⤷ fffoff replies

Not “Corpse,” even if a pro came, they couldn’t

With a gun that brutal.

Even without reading the post, wasn’t there something you could feel?

Mo Yeonhoo was a little slow, sure, but ever since he was young, he had an uncanny talent for measuring the exact moment it was time to cut something off.

Can I not change my class?

This felt like that moment.

It was obvious this character didn’t fit his aptitude.

Even so, he wondered if it was right to keep going—but then he set his jaw with a serious expression. What else could he do?

[(Alliance) Miu: yeah yeah, you got this]

My aptitude is Ms. Miyoung.

If I wanted to win a beautiful love, then hardships like this were something I obviously had to overcome......

“Ah—wait, just a second. Just a second, I’m only going to use W, just W! Just let me use it once, okay? Please! If I just use this once...!”

......Or not?

And so, the fourth day—the day I was supposed to go on the raid—dawned.
