Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Repeated Provocations

"Xiaoyue, are you running a background check on him?"

Gao Fei’s girlfriend teased with a smile, "You only just added him on WeChat and you already want to know this much? You’d think this was a marriage interview."

The others heard this and joined in the teasing:

"Senior, you’re not thinking big enough. Yueyue has probably already picked out names for their kids."

"Gotta say, I think Junior Xiaoyue and Old Gu are a great match. One is tall and handsome, the other is petite and cute. It’s the perfect adorable height difference."

"Senior Gu, our Yueyue has tons of guys after her. You’d better not miss your chance."

The teasing remarks came one after another, echoing endlessly.

But Gu Qing was completely unbothered. He felt nothing at all as he smiled nonchalantly and said:

"I’m a Hai City local. My specific address is Jiangbei County, Nanshan Street, Qianhua Island District, Phase One, Building 3, Apartment 404."

"As for family, it’s just a normal family of four."

"Besides my parents, I have a younger sister who’s a senior in high school."

Well, he answered dutifully, and in great detail at that.

The only small imperfection was that the home address was a complete fabrication.

’After all, a home address is extremely private information. How could I just tell it to anyone?’

No one there knew his real address, so no one knew he was lying.

Huang Xiaoyue gave a sweet smile.

"Senior, I’ve memorized your address. When we have a break and I have some free time, I’ll come visit you in Jiangbei County. I hope you’ll welcome me then."

"Of course."

Gu Qing replied politely with a smile.

After their interaction ended,

the next round of spinning the bottle started soon after.

This time, it landed on Chen Zijie.

He didn’t hesitate for a second. His gaze locked onto the female junior in jeans across from him, and he chose to interact with her.

"Junior Lin Xiao, will you choose Truth or Dare?"

"Senior Gu chose Truth every time, so I’ll do something different. I choose Dare."

The junior in jeans said with a faint smile.

Seeing that she’d actually chosen Dare, Chen Zijie was incredibly excited.

He pretended to think for a moment, then said with a smile:

"Junior Lin Xiao, how about we feed each other some cake?"

"I’ll feed you a bite first, then you feed me a bite, until the whole piece of cake is gone."

"This small piece right here."

As Chen Zijie spoke, he reached for the chocolate cake beside him and placed it between them.

The junior in jeans smiled, not minding at all.

"No problem. I chose Dare, so I’ll do whatever you say."

’The main reason was that Chen Zijie wasn’t ugly; you could even say he was a little handsome.’

’If it had been that fat senior, Qian Duole, she felt she probably would have minded.’

Seeing the junior in jeans agree so readily, Chen Zijie was ecstatic.

He quickly picked up the cake, scooped up a small piece, and held it out to her.

"Junior Lin Xiao, please have some cake."

The junior in jeans, her face slightly flushed, opened her mouth and ate it.

Then it was her turn. She picked up the cake, scooped a small piece, and brought it to Chen Zijie’s lips.

"Senior Chen, have some cake."

Chen Zijie stared at the fork that the junior had just had in her mouth, so excited his heart was pounding wildly.

As he opened his mouth and took the fork, he felt like he had ascended to heaven on the spot.

’Ahhh—!’

’This is what a junior tastes like!’

’So sweet!!!’

Seeing the two of them acting all lovey-dovey, Gu Qing couldn’t help but think of his ex-girlfriend, Bai Ningyu.

Back when they were in their honeymoon phase, he and Bai Ningyu often fed each other, too.

College life had been so wonderful back then. It felt like he woke up every day with something to look forward to.

A pity.

Love in college is always as fragile as a toothpick; it breaks under the slightest pressure.

Many college couples whom everyone envied would often break up right after graduation and go their separate ways.

’And my relationship with Ningyu was even more fragile. It broke before we even graduated...’

Just thinking about it made Gu Qing miserable.

He still savored the memory of Bai Ningyu’s flawless, fair skin. But sadly, he could never touch it again.

At least, not anytime soon.

She had blocked him on WeChat and vanished without a trace. He didn’t even know if she was dead or alive.

Just as he was lost in his melancholy,

a few boys in matching soccer uniforms walked onto the soccer field, talking and laughing.

They were members of the school’s soccer team. Because they had recently lost an important match, their coach had punished them by making them find time to practice every evening.

One of the boys had his hair in a single ponytail and had an artistic air about him.

He was holding a soccer ball, just about to start juggling it to warm up.

Suddenly, his attention was drawn by the commotion from the social gathering near the goal.

He heard a very familiar voice coming from that direction.

Following the familiar voice with his eyes,

he saw the scene of Chen Zijie and the junior in jeans feeding each other cake.

His face instantly darkened.

The junior in jeans was his ex-girlfriend.

The two of them had just broken up the day before yesterday.

’Only two days after our breakup, and she’s already feeding cake to another guy? Does this mean she was cheating on me all along?’

The guy with the ponytail was burning with rage.

He immediately strode over, staring daggers at the junior in jeans on the picnic blanket, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Lin Xiao, you’re so ’pure,’ aren’t you?"

"You broke up with me the day before yesterday, and today you’re already feeding cake to some guy."

"The most faithful girl at Hai University, I see."

An unexpected guest had suddenly crashed their gathering, and everyone present was a little stunned.

Everyone first glanced at the guy with the ponytail, then all eyes turned to the junior in jeans, waiting for the person in question to respond.

Under everyone’s gaze, the junior in jeans frowned slightly and said:

"Zhao Yu, we’ve already broken up! Who I hang out with is my business, it has nothing to do with you!"

"Nothing to do with me?"

The guy with the ponytail laughed in anger. "You just broke up and you’re already this desperate to hook a new guy. You’re just a fucking slut I got tired of, rushing to find your next guy!"

As soon as he said that,

the atmosphere instantly froze.

The junior’s eyes immediately turned red, and she trembled with anger.

’He was clearly the one who cheated first. The only reason we broke up was because she caught him flirting with another girl.’

’And now he had the nerve to come here and publicly call her a slut. This was just cruel.’

"Watch your mouth!"

Chen Zijie shot to his feet, pointing at the ponytailed guy and roaring furiously, "You’ve broken up, so show some damn respect! What gives you the right to talk to her like that!"

He’d been single his entire twenty-one years of life.

His sexual frustration was through the roof.

He was driven crazy by his desire for a girl every single night.

Tonight, he’d finally had some intimate contact with a junior, and she hadn’t resisted. There was a chance for something to develop.

Now some jackass had shown up out of nowhere to ruin his chance at love. How could he possibly stand for that?!

The guy with the ponytail looked Chen Zijie up and down.

Seeing his dyed blond hair, his eyes filled with disdain. "What? You think you’re hot stuff because of your cheap dye job? Why don’t you go take a piss and look at your own reflection? You think you have what it takes to steal my girl?"

Chen Zijie’s face flushed with anger. He clenched his fists, ready to charge forward and fight.

Gu Qing quickly reached out and stopped him.

"Don’t be reckless. If a fight gets serious, you could get expelled."

Hearing Gu Qing’s words, Chen Zijie calmed down considerably.

The guy with the ponytail sneered but didn’t provoke Chen Zijie further. He turned and went back to practice with his teammates.

Chen Zijie also returned to the picnic blanket and sat down, comforting the junior in jeans.

Gao Fei’s girlfriend stepped in to take control of the situation, suggesting with a smile that they continue playing Truth or Dare to ease the awkward atmosphere.

As Truth or Dare started up again,

it wasn’t long before the lively atmosphere of the gathering returned, and everyone forgot about the little incident.

Meanwhile, the ponytailed guy practicing nearby saw that his ex-girlfriend was no longer upset and was once again talking and laughing with another guy. He was instantly pissed.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, and the angrier he got, the more he stewed. Finally, he came up with a way to get back at his ex-girlfriend.

He went up and spoke with a few of his teammates, telling them to come practice with him near the picnic blanket.
