Chapter 143: Chapter 113: Martial God

He then executed an Instant Step, his body becoming a streak of crimson light as he charged toward Xia Wuyuan.

At his side, Xia Shuran saw this and summoned her Dragon Spear with a thought, her figure flashing as she charged out after Gu Qing.

In a flash, Gu Qing was in front of Xia Wuyuan. His Tier Three power erupted as he swung a fierce punch at his head.

The punch was swift and ferocious.

But in the eyes of Xia Wuyuan, who had just reached Tier Four, its trajectory was perfectly clear.

He simply tilted his head aside, effortlessly dodging the incoming fist.

WHOOSH—!

An ear-piercing whistle split the air.

Xia Wuyuan had just dodged Gu Qing’s punch when, a second later, a sharp spearhead glinting with a cold light thrust fiercely toward his eye.

His expression remained impassive in the face of the sudden attack. With a simple lift of his hand, he slapped the spear tip away just as it reached his eye.

The instant the spear was deflected, Xia Shuran felt a tremendous whipping force travel up the shaft of the Bone Spear, flinging her through the air. She slammed onto the ground with a THUD and rolled several times.

The power of a new Tier Four was far too great; as a new Tier Three, she was completely unable to withstand it.

As Xia Shuran was sent flying, Gu Qing’s fist morphed into a knife-hand. Wreathed in a massive amount of scorching Qi Blood Power, it chopped toward Xia Wuyuan’s neck at a speed nearly invisible to the naked eye.

Just as the strike was about to land,

Xia Wuyuan’s head suddenly retracted into his torso like a turtle pulling into its shell. He instantly became a headless horseman, effortlessly dodging the blow.

Gu Qing’s strike hit nothing but air, leaving him completely stunned.

’What the fuck?!’

’What kind of Skill is this?!’

’How can he just retract his head like a turtle?!’

As he stood there in shock—

BAM!

Xia Wuyuan struck him in the abdomen with his palm, sending him flying back several meters.

The first exchange was over.

Gu Qing stared at Xia Wuyuan, his mind racing as he tried to figure out how to attack and overcome his superior opponent.

Just then,

Xia Shuran, who had been thrown aside earlier, struggled back to her feet, clutching her Dragon Spear in one hand.

Her breathing was ragged, and she felt as if her entire skeleton was about to fall apart.

Her power as a new Tier Three was still too weak. A single blow had left her severely injured, almost unable to get back up.

Gu Qing, in contrast, was just getting warmed up.

Pure Qi Blood was now coursing through his body.

His True Martial Arts Dao flowed like a gentle stream through his limbs and torso, rapidly nourishing his body.

"Shuran, can you still fight?"

Gu Qing asked Xia Shuran, his eyes still locked on Xia Wuyuan.

Xia Shuran ached all over, but she gritted her teeth and insisted, "Gu Qing, I’m fine! I can still fight!"

"Alright, then let’s go!"

The words had barely left his lips when Gu Qing’s figure blurred into an afterimage, shooting like lightning toward Xia Wuyuan.

Xia Shuran also pushed off, spear in hand, and charged her ancestor from the other side.

They attacked from the left and right, trapping Xia Wuyuan in a pincer.

As he charged,

Gu Qing used Qi Blood External Release to condense a Blood Crossbow in his hand, along with several Blood Arrows.

He immediately aimed and fired, loosing all the Blood Arrows with several WHOOSHING sounds, sending them straight for Xia Wuyuan’s torso.

Xia Wuyuan raised an eyebrow.

’Not bad, kid!’

’He only just learned Advanced Qi Blood External Release this morning, and he’s already skilled enough to form a crossbow and arrows!’

’What astonishing talent!’

VMMMM—!

The instant the Blood Arrows flew, Gu Qing dissolved the Blood Crossbow in his hand, recovered the Qi Blood Power, and abruptly accelerated, following right behind the volley of arrows as he charged Xia Wuyuan.

Xia Wuyuan twisted his body nimbly to dodge the Blood Arrows, but the movement left him momentarily immobilized.

Gu Qing seized this brief opening. The Qi Blood in his body instantly converged in his right arm as he threw a powerful punch at Xia Wuyuan’s chest.

’My last punch to the head was dodged when he pulled that turtle-in-a-shell trick.’

’This time I’m aiming for the chest. Let’s see how he dodges this.’

’He can’t just open a hole in his chest and let my fist pass through, can he?’

So Gu Qing thought.

The next instant,

a great cloud of blood mist erupted from Xia Wuyuan’s chest.

The moment it appeared, the mist instantly condensed into a large, blood-red hand that precisely caught his incoming fist.

Gu Qing’s eyes widened, his face a mask of shock and disbelief. ’That works too?’

Then, the blood-red hand violently flung him away, sending his body flying backward at high speed.

Gu Qing refused to be thrown. He unleashed a burst of Qi Blood, shooting two hard, blood-red stakes from his hands. With a double THUD, they stabbed deep into the floor, violently braking his momentum and bringing him to a halt.

Then, with another BANG,

Gu Qing stomped down hard. The floor cracked and exploded under the force.

In that instant, the powerful recoil launched him forward, sending him shooting toward Xia Wuyuan like a bullet from a gun.

Just then, Xia Shuran, who had been charging her ancestor, finally reached his side. Holding her Dragon Spear, she thrust it out with all her might, aiming straight for his lower body.

WHOOSH—!

The sharp spear tip pierced the air, trailing wisps of scorching Qi Blood Power.

’Slow. Far too slow...’

Xia Wuyuan paid the attack no mind. With a slight turn of his body, he easily dodged the incoming spear.

Her thrust having missed, Xia Shuran immediately halted its forward momentum, changing it into a powerful horizontal sweep with the Bone Spear aimed at her ancestor’s midsection.

She knew her own limits and never deluded herself into thinking she could actually hit her ancestor. She only hoped her attacks could restrict his movement and create a better opening for Gu Qing.
