I'm Already a God, and You're Only Now Telling Me There Are Monsters?
Chapter 127 - 106: Tag Attribute Transformation
Chapter 127: Chapter 106: Tag Attribute Transformation
They didn’t chat much longer.
Gu Qing soon left the pet shop.
He headed toward his own residential complex.
After crossing the street.
And entering the complex.
Just as he was about to reach his apartment building.
Gu Qing spotted a familiar figure up ahead.
It was his little sister, Gu Yao, just coming home from school.
The young woman wore her hair in a single ponytail, dressed in a light blue sailor-style school uniform with pristine white stockings on her legs. Her steps were light and energetic, and she softly hummed an unknown tune, the sound sweet and pleasant.
As she walked, her posture was graceful and fluid, perfectly embodying the air of a campus goddess.
A mischievous impulse took hold of Gu Qing. He tiptoed up behind his sister, suddenly covering her eyes with his hands, and teased with a laugh, "Guess which handsome guy I am?"
Gu Yao just chuckled. "Heh, I’d say you’re more like a big potato."
Gu Qing dropped his hands and moved to walk beside her. Glancing down at the sailor uniform and white stockings she wore, he couldn’t help but ask in confusion:
"Why aren’t you in your school uniform?"
"We had graduation photos at school today."
Gu Yao’s face lit up with a joyful smile, her voice soft. "I brought my sailor uniform specifically to take lots of super cute pictures with my roommates."
As soon as she finished, she turned to her brother and asked, "Are you just back from your university?"
"I got back on Wednesday."
"Huh?"
Gu Yao was puzzled. "Don’t you have classes?"
"I obviously took a leave of absence from the university."
Gu Qing added, "The classes are a total joke anyway, it makes no difference whether I attend or not. I was missing Mom and Dad a bit, so I took some time off to come back and be with them."
Gu Yao saw right through his act; it was certified fake. She sneered, "Big potato, stop pretending. It’s so obvious, even a fool could see it. You definitely came back to hit on Sister Zhiyi. You want to be the rebellious disciple who seduces his master."
"And if I’m not mistaken, you just came from Sister Zhiyi’s pet shop, right?"
As she spoke, Gu Yao pressed her nose against her brother’s clothes and started sniffing furiously, like a puppy, trying to detect any lingering scent of a woman’s perfume.
Liu Zhiyi usually wore makeup and a bit of perfume, a scent Gu Yao would recognize instantly.
"Are you a dog or something?"
Gu Qing took several steps back, dodging his sister’s lethal sniffing frenzy. With a look of exasperation, he said, "I’m not your stinky feet, you can’t just sniff me whenever you want. Get your dog nose away from me."
The moment she heard those two words, "stinky feet."
His little sister flew into a rage out of pure embarrassment, her face flushed. She balled her little fists and started pummeling her dear brother, yelling as she hit him:
"You’re the stinky one! You’re the stinky one! You’re the biggest, stinkiest potato of all!"
"My feet smell good!"
"If you slander me again, I’ll beat you to death!"
"..."
Gu Qing didn’t even try to dodge, just let his sister’s fists land squarely on him, and even chuckled mockingly:
"Silly Yao, have you not eaten today?"
"Is that all the strength you have?"
"Are you trying to give me a massage?"
"..."
Being mocked like that by her own brother completely drained Gu Yao of her energy. She couldn’t swing another punch.
It couldn’t be helped. Her brother was too tough; she was no match for him.
Her little fists on his body were like an egg hitting a rock. He was completely fine, while her own fists were throbbing with pain.
...
「A short while later.」
The siblings arrived home.
They sat in the living room and played on their phones for a bit.
Dinner was ready.
The family of four sat around the table for dinner.
Before they started eating, Gu Qing found an exquisite glass food container and packed a portion of the meal for Liu Zhiyi.
His mother, Wen Wanyi, asked with suspicion, "Who are you packing that food for?"
Gu Yao, sitting across from him, answered first. "Isn’t it obvious? It’s for his Sister Zhiyi, of course."
’Sister Zhiyi?’
’Her son’s former high school English teacher?’
Wen Wanyi frowned.
But that was all she did.
She didn’t say anything more.
She had suspected that Gu Qing had recently gone through a breakup, and for the past two days, she had been treading carefully around him, afraid of accidentally reopening a wound.
So, even though she disliked Gu Qing getting too close to this "Sister Zhiyi" who was six years his senior, she held her tongue.
In less than three minutes.
Gu Qing finished his meal.
Wiped his mouth.
Rinsed his mouth.
He immediately grabbed the glass container and headed out the door to deliver the meal to Liu Zhiyi.
Seeing her son wolf down his food in a rush just to deliver a meal to some woman, Wen Wanyi couldn’t help but complain:
"I’m speechless with this kid. There are so many young, beautiful girls to choose from, but he just has to fixate on a woman six years older than him."
"I think it’s great."
Gu Mingbo said with a smile, "An older woman is more understanding and knows how to care for someone."
Wen Wanyi shot him a look. "You’re overthinking it. An old leftover woman has nothing but flaws, no redeeming qualities at all."
...
「Inside the Little Fairy Pet Shop.」
Liu Zhiyi was eating the food Gu Qing had brought, praising it from the heart. "I have to say, your mom’s cooking is delicious. It’s even better than what many five-star restaurants serve."
Gu Qing smiled. "Since you like my mom’s cooking so much, Sister Zhiyi, how about this? From now on, whenever I’m home, I’ll pack a portion for you."
Liu Zhiyi didn’t stand on ceremony with him, a slight smile playing on her lips. "If you’re willing to bring it, I’d be more than happy to eat it."
Gu Qing said, "Then it’s settled."
As the two were talking.
Gu Yao, having just finished her own dinner, walked into the pet shop with light steps.
The moment she entered, she heard her brother promising to bring food for Sister Zhiyi every day, and she couldn’t help but raise her slender, pretty eyebrows.
She immediately pulled out her phone and sent a report to her parents in the family group chat:
[It’s all over! Father Emperor, Mother Empress, your Crown Prince is dead set on being the disciple who seduces his master! And it looks like he’s about to succeed! You two can probably expect to be grandparents soon!]
...
Time ticked by, second by second.
In the blink of an eye, it was eleven o’clock at night.
For the past three-plus hours.
Gu Qing had ignored his sister, Gu Yao, and spent nearly the entire time training the budgerigar with Liu Zhiyi.
His sister, for her part, didn’t go over and act as a third wheel. She sensibly sat on the sofa studying. When she got tired of studying, she would play with the cats and hamsters, her main goal being to entertain herself.
When the cumulative training time reached three hours.
A series of familiar text prompts popped up before Gu Qing’s eyes, right on schedule.
[You have trained an animal with your friend Liu Zhiyi for over an hour] x3
[Beast Language Ability +1] x3
[Beast Taming Skill +1] x3
[Accumulate 100 points in Beast Taming Skill to obtain the Attribute — Essence Blood Enslavement]
[Current points obtained: 20]
’Finally hit 20 points.’
’I wonder if my Beast Language Ability has undergone another qualitative leap, like it did when I first hit 10 points.’
’I need to find a hamster that can’t speak human and test it out.’
Gu Qing dismissed the text boxes before him, got up, and walked over to a nearby hamster cage, stopping to poke one of the little hamsters inside.
Seeing a man’s hand poking it, the small hamster immediately squeaked in displeasure:
[fuck you bro!]
[don’t touch me, bro!]
[stay off me, bro!]
’What the hell?’
’What’s with all the "bro"s?’
’Is that a West Coast bro accent?’
Gu Qing found it hard to keep a straight face.
He then wondered if his Beast Language ability translating a hamster’s squeaks like this counted as a qualitative leap.
’I guess it should?’
’After all, it definitely seems more vivid and more human-like.’
’Speaking of which, my Beast Language ability is already this amazing with only 20 attribute points accumulated.’
’I can’t imagine what kind of outrageous leap it’ll take when it hits 100 points... ’
Gu Qing’s heart filled with anticipation.
Just then, Liu Zhiyi stood up from the blanket on the floor and said, "Gu Qing, it’s getting late. I’m going to close up for the night. You and your sister should head home soon."
"OK."
Gu Qing turned and responded.
In the few minutes that followed, he and his sister, Gu Yao, helped tidy up the shop.
After they were done cleaning, Liu Zhiyi looked at the two siblings and said:
"I have something to do tomorrow, Saturday, so I won’t be opening the shop for the rest of the weekend. Don’t you two make a wasted trip."
Saying that, she walked over to the shop’s refrigerator, took out a container of durian, and handed it to Gu Qing:
"This is durian flesh I prepared myself from a fresh durian I bought last night. It’s been frozen in the fridge, so it’s still very fresh. Take it home and eat it."
"Thanks, Sister Zhiyi."
Gu Qing took the proffered durian.
Gu Yao also chimed in sweetly, "Thank you, Sister Zhiyi."
Liu Zhiyi smiled faintly. "Don’t mention it. I just ate a meal your mother made. Consider this container of durian a return of courtesy."
After speaking, she urged them with a smile, "It’s very late now. You two are still students, so hurry back and get to sleep. Don’t get into the bad habit of staying up late."
"Alright, we’ll head back now. You get some rest too, Sister Zhiyi."
"Sister Zhiyi, bye-bye!"
The siblings said one after the other.
...
After leaving the Little Fairy Pet Shop.
And returning home.
Gu Yao grabbed a white dress and went into the bathroom to take a shower.
Yes, just a dress, and nothing else.
After all, she was at home, where comfort was key.
Gu Qing waited for his turn to shower, idly sitting on the living room sofa and playing on his phone to kill time.
After a short while, he remembered that Liu Zhiyi’s pet shop would be closed tomorrow, which meant he wouldn’t be able to grind for attributes all day.
Based on the principle that time is money, he didn’t want to waste the entire day.
So, he opened WeChat, tapped on his junior’s profile picture, and sent her a message.
[Gu Qing: Junior, change of plans. I’m free tomorrow, Saturday, as well. I was thinking of visiting your place for both Saturday and Sunday. Would that be convenient?]
His junior replied almost instantly.
[Xia Shuran: It’s convenient, it’s convenient! Senior, are you coming tomorrow morning?]
[Gu Qing: Yep. Barring any accidents, I should leave around eight in the morning by taxi and get to your place around nine.]
[Xia Shuran: Okie-dokie! I’ll get up early tomorrow then. I want to make breakfast for you myself, Senior.]
[Gu Qing: OK, see you tomorrow then. Go to bed early, don’t stay up late.]
[Xia Shuran: You should get to bed early too, Senior.]
[Gu Qing: I will, right after I shower.]
After sending that last message to his junior.
Gu Qing put down his phone, feeling very excited about visiting his junior’s home tomorrow.
’I wonder what kind of person the unfathomable ancestor of my junior’s family really is.’
’I’ll have to get a good look tomorrow.’
’I hope that mysterious Xia Family ancestor, who has lived for several hundred years, can give me a surprise.’
