Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies
Chapter 1647: Newton
The two of them were chatting on the abandoned warship, which was now only half its original size, when suddenly the sound of surging seawater reached their ears.
A low howling sound, like the deep roar of a leviathan from the ocean depths, slowly approached along the vast sea surface, and the sound gradually grew louder.
The two of them turned their heads simultaneously to look at the sea, only to see the seawater suddenly parting to both sides in a bizarre manner, as if some enormous creature was emerging from within the ocean.
All the soldiers along the coast also stopped what they were doing, nervously picking up their weapons and aiming them at the sea surface.
Cadillus and Canero wiped the smiles off their faces and stared seriously ahead.
They saw the light in the air distort, and then an enormous steel bow suddenly emerged from the transparent air, bearing down toward the coast and directly smashing through the thin layer of ice.
"BZZZZ!!"
A massive horn blast echoed across the entire coastline, and the enormous steel bow docked at the harbor like an island, gradually revealing its full appearance.
It was actually an incredibly huge and strange vessel!
Among the entire Colombia Ocean Fleet, not a single active warship was even one-third its size!
Its volume was comparable to a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier!
But compared to an aircraft carrier, its entire body was wrapped in thick armor, making it look less like a warship and more like an enormous submarine!
A submarine of unprecedented scale, the largest class ever seen!
"The Nautilus."
Canero said softly. Of course they recognized this submarine, because it was the secret weapon of the Colombia Navy.
On the eve of the apocalypse, Colombia's astronomical center had already realized that this disaster was coming, so among numerous contingency plans, they chose a plan of sinking into the deep sea to cope with the new ice age.
The prototype of the Nautilus was a survival base in the ocean.
But after the apocalypse, through complex modifications, the birth of Transcendents led to a massive increase in productivity, and the Nautilus had now been converted into a super battleship-submarine!
This was the trump card of the Colombia Navy, now dispatched to Neon Harbor.
The docking of the Nautilus drew a crowd of navy personnel to watch. Its existence was a secret, and not everyone knew about it.
But this super submarine comparable to an aircraft carrier was still the first time they had ever seen one in their lives, so the coast was now packed with people.
"HISS!"
The hatch at the front of the submarine suddenly opened, and a squad of fully armed soldiers appeared before the navy personnel.
Even though the soldiers of the Ocean Fleet were already Colombia's finest warriors, when faced with this group of soldiers before them, they still felt an intense sense of oppression.
There were only about a hundred of them, their entire bodies wrapped tightly in pitch-black combat suits, not revealing even an inch of skin, with black tactical helmets even on their heads.
In their hands were uniformly black standard-issue anti-Transcendent firearms, black pistols holstered at their waists, grenades hanging on their chests, sharp mariner knives strapped to their thighs, and every pocket, large and small, on their bodies was filled, stuffed with all the supplies needed for combat.
This was one of Colombia's most powerful special forces units, the Sea Wolf Assault Team.
When the Ocean Fleet's navy faced them, a trace of retreat instinctively appeared in their eyes.
The special operatives of the Sea Wolf Assault Team were soldiers among soldiers.
And after the apocalypse, they were even the elite among Transcendents. Every member of the Sea Wolf Assault Team possessed the strength of a thousand men!
Without considering special weapons, just these hundred people alone could massacre an entire large-scale military base.
Cadillus and Canero only glanced at them before looking behind them.
"That bastard Newton always likes to show off when he makes an entrance! It's really annoying."
Cadillus leaned close to Canero's ear and said: "What I hate most is that poker face of his. It makes me want to punch him right in the face!"
Before his words had even faded, the Sea Wolf Assault Team split apart from the middle, then neatly formed ranks and opened a path.
From within the Nautilus's hull, a pair of black combat boots stepped onto the alloy floor, walking toward Cadillus and the others.
This was a tall, slender man, wearing a custom black combat suit, with a pair of specially made tactical glasses with a greenish tint on his eyes.
His narrow face was somewhat pale, giving off a sickly feeling, and his height of nearly two meters gave off a natural sense of oppression.
His right hand held a strangely shaped hand cannon, carried in reverse. The hand cannon was thick and bulky, its length exceeding half his body height. There were twisted pipe-like patterns on the barrel, the middle section semi-transparent, and both ends pitch-black. As the tall man walked, the hand cannon seemed to have a life of its own, making slight pulsating movements.
Reinforcements from Colombia's homeland, a member of the Natural Science Association, code name Newton.
Newton walked down from the Nautilus, with the members of the Sea Wolf Assault Team behind him following closely like a group of emotionless machines.
After Newton landed, he raised his head and swept his expressionless gaze across the ruined naval base, then he reached up and adjusted his glasses:
"The situation is even worse than we imagined."
Cadillus looked at him. "Those guys we encountered really do have some strength. Although I can hold off their leader, I couldn't stop them from destroying the harbor base."
Newton said coldly: "We've calculated this battle, the strength displayed by the Star Island Underground Civilization. Considering the underground creatures' incompatibility with the surface world, they can only take military action for a short period."
"Even so, the strength they've displayed is enough to contend with any major power on the planet!"
"Their primary target this time is Huaxu Nation, not you. Otherwise, the Ocean Fleet would no longer exist."
Cadillus stared fixedly at Newton and asked in a deep voice: "What do you mean by that? Does the Franklin side intend to abandon the Ocean Fleet?"
"It's not abandonment. It's that at present, before we've figured out the strength of the Star Island Underground Civilization, recklessly rebuilding a naval base in the surrounding waters is meaningless."
Newton looked at Cadillus and said coldly: "Franklin's decision is that in the upcoming war, the Ocean Fleet is not to join the war against the Underground Civilization. You will first relocate to the inland regions of Neon and bide your time."
Cadillus's brows immediately furrowed tightly, and he flew into a rage: "Does that mean we're supposed to be cowardly turtles hiding in our shells? I absolutely cannot tolerate such humiliation! What those bastards did to us, I will repay a hundredfold!"
