Li Yangyang heard Zhang Yi's address and didn't get angry, merely covering her mouth with a smile.

"I'm a girl! Lord Chaos, you really do love to joke."

He hadn't expected Li Yangyang to come along with the Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits this time. She wasn't one of their members, and he didn't know what purpose her presence served on this trip. But he figured Shengjing wouldn't do anything without reason.

Zhang Yi rubbed his nose and unconsciously put some distance between himself and Li Yangyang.

It wasn't that he discriminated against her or anything. He just thought that with his dashing charm, it wouldn't be good if she ended up falling for him.

After all, he didn't have that kind of preference, and getting tangled up with her would only invite a mess of trouble.

Zhang Yi didn't know what to talk about with her either. He had experience dealing with men, and he had experience dealing with women.

But dealing with a human somewhere in between the two, that was the one thing he had no experience in.

Li Yangyang seemed to understand Zhang Yi's awkwardness, so she took the initiative to speak: "Lord Chaos, it's rare for me to visit Tianshui City. Could you let me go see [Heavenly Peng]?"

She blinked at Zhang Yi. She had deliberately used the codename to address Fatty Xu here.

Zhang Yi took a deep breath. Thinking of that fellow who yelled "forget love" every single day, he said: "Of course. This is a personal matter between the two of you, I won't get involved. If you want to go find him, then go. You're Fatty Xu's friend, which makes you our friend too."

In front of outsiders, Zhang Yi gave Fatty Xu plenty of face.

Li Yangyang smiled and nodded: "Then thank you very much!"

Li Yangyang left gracefully, and Zhang Yi turned his attention back to Dai Sheng, memorizing every spatial coordinate node he had inscribed throughout Tianshui City.

He didn't believe for a second that so many spatial coordinate nodes were all just preparation for the coming war.

Still, out of goodwill, he took a moment to send a communication to Fatty Xu.

"Hey, Fatty! Your old flame is here."

Fatty Xu, who was at home madly inhaling potato chips with Big Dragon Cat and Frog, was instantly stunned by these words.

"What old flame?"

"That 'bro' from Shengjing!"

Zhang Yi said with a grin, emphasizing the last part.

Fatty Xu's expression changed on the spot, and his entire body tumbled toward the floor with a loud "thud!"

"Oh man, why is she here! Boss, what do I do?!"

On the other end of the line, Zhang Yi shrugged: "How would I know what to do? This is your personal problem, please don't bring it into our shelter's collective work! Figure out a way to handle it yourself."

"But I... I haven't even gotten mentally prepared yet!"

Fatty Xu was on the verge of tears.

Zhang Yi's expression turned a little impatient. "Idiot, why are you so useless? Either date her, or just cleanly cut ties. What are you hesitating for?"

"But... but she's beautiful, and she treats me so well. I've never met a woman like this in my entire life. I can't bear to let her go."

Zhang Yi gritted his teeth: "Then date her!"

Fatty Xu was practically crying: "But she's missing the key part."

"Then there's nothing I can do. Anyway, you figure it out yourself!"

Zhang Yi had no way to deal with this guy, all hesitation, wanting to have his cake and eat it too, but where in real life did such a good thing ever exist?

Zhang Yi was about to end the call when Fatty Xu's weak voice came through again.

"Boss, what if I see her and she forcefully pins me down? When that happens, who's on top?"

"Click!"

Zhang Yi hung up immediately. He had nearly crushed the communicator in his grip. He was truly speechless at that damn fatty.

How would he know anything about matters of the heart?

A man as outstanding as him had always relied on his powerful charisma to conquer a woman's heart. Where was there room for all that pretentious nonsense?

A sigma male never falls into a woman's trap.

Ah, and it was the same for men who looked like women.

...

Neon Harbor, Colombia Ocean Fleet Base.

After being ravaged by the Mist Valley forces, the entire port was basically in a state of ruins.

The vast majority of warships had been destroyed, and the elite warriors had suffered heavy casualties.

The colossal sea beast had summoned waves to directly strike the port, and the buildings along the coast had also taken massive damage.

Fleet Commander General Douglas had long since relocated to a safe area, remotely controlling everything from there and ordering the engineering corps to repair everything as fast as possible.

Looking at the devastated naval base, Cadillus, the strongest fighter of the Ocean Fleet and the [Lord of the Seas], had eyes full of gloom.

He sat atop the main cannon of an abandoned warship, both hands clasped together under his chin, and in one hand he still held a black lace bra.

It was a gift from his military lover, Marilynna.

But in this war, Marilynna and her husband had both died in the crossfire.

Cadillus had been very fond of Marilynna. He had once boasted in front of her that with his protection, the entire naval base would become the strongest, most impregnable fortress in the world. Life here would be utterly safe, and no one could ever harm her.

But now, she had become a cold corpse.

There was a trace of sadness in Cadillus's heart, but more than that, it was the fury of being offended.

"Those underground mongrels!"

Cadillus cursed viciously under his breath.

Not far away, Canero, clad in black battle armor with his helmet removed and a black sniper rifle slung across his back, walked toward him.

"Cadillus, why are you still here? General Douglas said for us to head to the temporary command post and protect the naval higher-ups."

Cadillus lifted his head and glanced at Canero, sneering: "Is this a retreat? Abandoning everything we worked so hard to build here!"

He extended a hand toward the port. "This naval base has existed for over a hundred years! And now, just because those underground mongrels showed up, we're supposed to give up this place? Give up the most powerful naval base in Colombia's history?"

Canero clenched his teeth, following Cadillus's hand to look at the ruined base.

After being scoured by seawater, this place would be difficult to rebuild in a short time.

"There's no choice! The enemy is simply too strong. But thankfully, we still have an alternate base we can use."

"Those mongrels, one day we'll carve our way over there and wipe every last one of them out!"

Cadillus said through gnashing teeth.

"There will be such a day."

Canero replied flatly. He coughed once, then quietly added: "Maybe."

If such a day truly came, the one who went would be him, Yasin Canero, not Cadillus.

As the Navy's most prized genius, Canero's future held infinite possibilities. But Cadillus, whose potential had been drained early on by drugs and all manner of technological products, had both his potential and his lifespan squeezed to a brutal degree.

If Professor [Da Vinci] hadn't intervened, his body would have originally died within seven years at most.
