Bronze Coffin Company.

Murong Mengli paused her pen mid-paperwork. A blank look flashed across her eyes, followed immediately by a surging flood of fragmented memories.

The next moment, the color drained from her face. She shot to her feet and rushed out the door.

She remembered. She remembered everything. The Bronze Coffin Company had once employed over twenty people, as well as a Transcendent named Jun Wushang. He was from the Longevity Daoist Temple, not a Nightmare Apostle, and his Bronze Law was Sequence 98: Peerless Sword Dance!

Jun Wushang was a lovestruck fool. It had taken almost no effort to recruit him back then; even with Han Yu obstructing him at every turn, the man simply refused to be driven away.

She had once sent Jun Wushang and a group of ordinary Nightmare Apostles into the Abandoned District to search for clues regarding the Eye of Gold. And then... there was no "then."

That was where her memory had cut off. Mistakenly believing the company lacked any Transcendents, she had begun searching vigorously, eventually recruiting Yang Dongqing and Su Mu.

Once Su Mu and the others reached the Abandoned District, her memories of them had vanished too. Only now did she realize she had sent people into the Abandoned District multiple times. Every single time she would forget, only to repeatedly send more people to their deaths.

"Damn it! Why would The Unrememberable be in the Abandoned District? Susu..." Worry was written all over Murong Mengli's stunning face. She wasn't just worried about Bronze Coffin taking a massive hit to its strength; she was genuinely worried about Su Mu.

He was the only man she hadn't disliked since she was young, and the only man whose eyes held not the slightest trace of lust when looking at her.

She recalled their conversation over drinks that day.

"Miss Mengli, I've always thought we were friends."

"Friends?"

Murong Mengli had never had friends. Her status dictated that she would be looked down upon by the nobles and fawned over by the commoners.

"Notify the armed forces to assemble! Get the cars ready! We're going to the Abandoned District!"

"Go to the basement safe and bring up the black box."

"Also, if I haven't returned by midnight tonight, send someone to... the Murong Family to ask my father for help."

Murong Mengli's expression was cold and stern as she methodically issued order after order. Although she knew her memory had recovered only because The Unrememberable was already dead, she still prepared for the worst. After all, The Unrememberable wasn't the only nightmare in the Abandoned District.

Moreover, she refused to believe Su Mu could have killed The Unrememberable. That was a nightmare even Silver-tier experts feared.

She guessed another powerful nightmare had killed The Unrememberable. Su Mu and his group were likely already dead.

But she needed to see them if they were alive, or see their corpses if they were dead. Su Mu was her last hope. She was out of time to recruit other Transcendents, and it would be incredibly difficult to find anyone stronger than him.

Soon, the large force finished assembling. Over a dozen armed armored vehicles parked outside the Bronze Coffin Company. Murong Mengli had shed her CEO attire for a custom black leather outfit, her long flaxen hair flying in the wind.

"Move out."

Just as she prepared to get into her car, the roar of a speeding vehicle approached from the distance.

Murong Mengli paused. She recognized that car—it was the one Su Mu and the others had driven away earlier.

Screech!

The vehicle slammed on its brakes, drifting to a halt in front of the Bronze Coffin Company and leaving a thick black tire mark on the ground.

Bang!

The driver's side door flew open. Jun Wushang leaned half of his body out and looked at the valiant Murong Mengli in sheer delight. "Boss, did you come out just to welcome me?"

"Where are the others?" Murong Mengli demanded rapidly.

"In the car."

She rushed forward and yanked open the car door. There, lying weakly against the seat, was Su Mu, his face as pale as paper.

"Susu! Are you alright?" A wave of worry swept across Murong Mengli's face.

Su Mu smiled gently. "Thanks for the concern. I'm fine for now."

"Someone, bring me my medical box."

A black metal box was handed to Murong Mengli. She popped it open, revealing an array of colorful potions inside, each neatly labeled.

She hurriedly pulled out a bottle filled with vibrant green liquid, uncapped it, and pressed it directly to Su Mu's lips.

"This is a Vitality Potion from the Federal Pharmaceutical Company. It's a type of Transcendent Potion with miraculous healing effects."

Without waiting for a response, she tipped it back and made him drink.

As the bottle of Vitality Potion slid down his throat, Su Mu immediately felt a radiant warmth spread all over his body, as comforting as returning to a mother's embrace. At the same time, his body rapidly recovered, brimming with fresh vitality.

"Do you have any more of this potion?"

"Two more bottles."

Su Mu slowly sat up. "Convert the bonus for this mission into Vitality Potions for me."

"Mm-hm, we'll talk about that later. The Vitality Potion can't heal you entirely. The company has a professional medical team inside. Come with me and get properly treated first."

"Miss Murong, actually, I also..." To the side, Yang Dongqing raised his fractured arms, staring enviously at the remaining Vitality Potions.

"Mr. Yang, I've already promised these two bottles of Vitality Potion to Susu. Your injuries don't look too severe, and you have a body of steel. Standard medical procedures should be enough for you." After saying her piece, Murong Mengli ignored Yang Dongqing and followed Su Mu upstairs.

Yang Dongqing: "..."

He suddenly missed Jasmine a little.

"Brother Yang, are the boss and Brother Su relatives?" Jun Wushang asked hopefully.

"Why do you ask?" Yang Dongqing gave him a surprised look.

"I heard the boss call him Susu. They seem awfully close."

"Being close means they have to be relatives? Anyone can tell you're single!" Yang Dongqing finally got his sense of superiority back. He shot Jun Wushang a look of utter disdain before trudging upstairs with his two drooping arms, leaving Jun Wushang completely dumbfounded.

He stood there, thoroughly crestfallen, for a long time before suddenly snapping out of it. An expression of sheer heartache contorted his face. "Sigh, all those flowers were sent for nothing! If I had known, I would have given them to Number 8... What a waste!"

...

...

Inside the medical room.

Murong Mengli's beautiful face was covered in frost, her fair little hands clenched into tight fists.

"Susu, your suspicions make sense. The mastermind behind this definitely can't escape ties with the eldest young master of the Murong Family. Even Qian Zihao might be involved. This was clearly a setup.

"I tried multiple times before to get Han Yu to go to the Abandoned District as well, but he kept making excuses, saying things like my father ordered him to stay and protect me. Thinking back on it now, he likely knew the inside story all along.

"Murong Yun. Qian Zihao!"

She squeezed so hard that her delicate, slender nails dug right into her fair palms.

Su Mu looked at Murong Mengli's hate-filled face. He knew exactly what she was thinking. She had finally gotten the chance to establish her own company, but before she could even stretch her wings, she was schemed against by her eldest brother, causing her company to suffer devastating losses.

The struggles between nobles were just like this. Where was there any sibling affection to be found? They were even more ruthless toward their own brothers and sisters than they were to outsiders.

"It seems the Eye of Gold is indeed difficult to find. This eldest young master of the Murong Family appears to have given up long ago. Instead, he plans to forge a new path by simply eliminating his competitors."
