"A slacker will always be a slacker. You lose patience the moment there's a little extra reading."

"You!" Yang Dongqing flared up. He knew Su Mu was looking down on him again, but getting angry was all he could actually do.

"Daoist, what's a Mithril Bullet?" he whispered to Jun Wushang.

Jun Wushang patiently explained, "Mithril is the hardest metal in the world, and it has a suppressing effect on transcendents. Ordinary bullets can't break through Heart of Steel, but Mithril Bullets can. I've heard some powerful transcendents even forge weapons out of Mithril."

Yang Dongqing's heart immediately burned with desire. To think such a good thing existed! If he'd had a Mithril Blade today, would Tie Feng have been able to break both his arms?

But Jun Wushang's next words dumped a bucket of cold water over his head.

"I'd love to have a Mithril Longsword. It's a pity Mithril is so expensive—at least ten thousand a gram. The bullets Brother Su just fired were probably around ten grams each. That's a hundred thousand! A hundred thousand a shot! A full three shots! Three hundred thousand!

"And that was with Tie Feng blinded. If he could see, it would be incredibly hard to hit him. You could throw a million at him and still miss completely.

"This is a toy for nobles. Ordinary transcendents can't even afford to touch it."

Yang Dongqing's burning heart went instantly cold. In his poverty, he couldn't fathom a metal being so obscenely expensive. Ten thousand a gram?!

He suddenly locked his eyes on Tie Feng's corpse and trotted over, wanting to pry the Mithril Bullets out of the body. Unfortunately, with both his arms broken, he had to call Jun Wushang for help.

The two spent ages prying out three ruined Mithril Bullets.

"Two for me, one for you," Jun Wushang preemptively declared.

Yang Dongqing wasn't having it. "Why do you get two?"

"Because I dug them out with my sword!"

"You..." Yang Dongqing was about to argue, but he suddenly remembered Tie Feng had also taken a shot from Sonic Kid earlier. He hurriedly told Jun Wushang to dig that one out too.

In the end, they got two Mithril Bullets each, beaming with delight.

"We just made four hundred thousand?!"

"We definitely won't get four hundred thousand. These are used Mithril Bullets, after all, so there's bound to be some loss. Plus, the scrap value can't match the retail price. I'd guess we'll be lucky to walk away with two hundred thousand."

"A hundred thousand each is still worth it. At least I can buy Jasmine a dress. I misunderstood her last time, so I need to buy her one to apologize."

"Jasmine is your girlfriend? Not bad, Brother Yang. You don't even have hair, yet you've got a girl. Unlike me, who can only take this hundred thousand and go enlighten myself in the art of foot massage."

"I'm not fucking bald! My hair got burned off twice and just hasn't grown back yet!"

While the two of them dug for the Mithril Bullets, Su Mu walked up to the Statue. He carefully examined the Angel Statue before him. Because he was one of the Angel Believers, an angel was the only thing he could see.

At this moment, the Angel Statue radiated a holy white light. Its facial features were soft, brimming with a compassionate Divinity.

However, Su Mu knew this was all a facade. Gods never pitied mortals; he and the others were nothing but collateral damage in the struggle between angels and demons.

Now that the Demon Faction had been completely wiped out, the angel within the Statue should be able to suppress the demon. He suspected there would be new changes.

Things went exactly as he expected. The holy light on the Angel Statue grew softer and brighter, and the Statue itself seemed to come alive, its Divinity-filled eyes gazing at Su Mu.

The next moment, the angel truly came alive!

The Statue stretched its limbs, the eight holy wings on its back trembling as it stepped straight down from the altar.

Su Mu narrowed his eyes. He wasn't sure what the angel planned to do. Out of caution, he left an illusion clone in his place while his true body quietly retreated behind it.

However, the previously infallible Myriad Phenomena seemed to fail in this moment. The angel completely ignored the clone, walking straight toward his true body with its arms open as if for an embrace.

Click!

A Silver-White Rose Bullet was chambered and aimed straight at the angel's head.

"If you want to thank me, a few Transcendent Potions will do. There's no need for a hug."

"Devout believer, return to the embrace of God!" A grand, ethereal voice echoed from the angel's mouth, making one irresistibly yearn to obey God's command.

Bang!

Su Mu didn't hesitate in the slightest. He fired straight at the angel's head.

However, the Mithril Bullet capable of breaking Heart of Steel couldn't harm the angel in the slightest. It couldn't even leave a mark.

Not far away, Yang Dongqing and Jun Wushang jumped at the gunshot as they wiped down their Mithril Bullets.

"Why is he shooting again?"

"Another fifty thousand?!"

The two looked toward the sound and instantly paled in shock; the Angel Statue was bearing down on Su Mu step by step.

Unsure of what was happening, the two were just preparing to run over when they saw the angel transform into a beam of holy light and drill straight into Su Mu's body.

...

...

Darkness. A darkness like being adrift in the starry cosmos.

Su Mu felt as if he had fallen into a cold, dark sea. His body sank continuously, further and further down, as if there were no end.

Just then, an invisible giant net, brilliant as the starry sky, suddenly appeared above the endless dimensions. It was the Bronze Law!

An incandescent star was embedded at every node of the Bronze Law, radiating starlight. Suddenly, the Law turned, and a sun-like star appeared in Su Mu's field of vision!

It was completely different from the other stars. It was dozens of times larger and entirely bathed in holy light!

The warm holy light drove away the surrounding darkness, allowing Su Mu to see his surroundings clearly.

A sea of blood. A boundless sea of blood. He was right in the middle of it, surrounded by countless unconscious people frozen in falling postures.

Soon, the holy light fell upon his body, and a surge of enlightenment rose in his mind.

Bronze Law—Primal Angel!

Bang!

The surrounding environment shattered in an instant. When Su Mu's vision returned, what met his eyes was a dim, dilapidated room. A rocking chair sat inside, and outside was a faintly brightening dawn sky.

The little girl, Tingting, stood quietly in front of him, tilting her head with a look of sheer curiosity.

"Big brother, were you sleeping standing up just now?"

Su Mu narrowed his eyes, carefully scrutinizing the Tingting in front of him. What's going on? Did time rewind? Why am I back in the Nightmare World?

Countless questions surged into his mind. He felt no fear of the unknown, only a thirst for pleasant surprises. This sudden turn of events constantly stimulated his nerves.

To him, this feeling was like a girlfriend handing him a mysterious gift on a day that wasn't a birthday or a holiday, just waiting for him to open it.

He thought back carefully. His memory stopped at the Angel Statue transforming into holy light and crashing into him. Then he had fainted, and after waking up, he was back in the Nightmare World.
