Chapter 372: The Faceless Angel, Dead!

  • Next Chapter

Bang!

A sharp crack tore through the air.

The Faceless Angel appeared before the Nether King in a flash. Gray light suddenly flared across its massive, flawless wings as they slashed down like a longblade.

The Nether King's expression shifted. He tried to dodge, but it was too late. The razor-sharp wing cleaved viciously into his chest. Yama of the Ten Halls held out for only a fraction of a second before a massive rift tore through it.

Squelch!

Flesh and blood splattered from the Nether King's chest. The wound carved deep into his bones, nearly cleaving him in half.

Despite the horrifying injury, the Nether King continued to resist. The two clusters of ghost-fire behind his pitch-black visor flared violently as his arms clamped down in a death grip on the Faceless Angel's right wing.

"Do it!" the Nether King shouted.

The Heavenly King instantly drew his bow. Starfall Heavenly Punishment erupted with endless starlight, instantly condensing into an ethereal, glowing arrow.

Whoosh!

The arrow of starlight tore through the sky like a falling meteor, streaking straight toward the Faceless Angel.

Pinned in place, the Faceless Angel couldn't dodge in time. It tried to block the strike with its left wing, but it had underestimated the sheer power of Starfall Heavenly Punishment.

With a single strike, the starlight pierced cleanly through the creature's left wing.

The attack landed, but the Heavenly King's face showed no joy. Instead, his already pale skin turned completely ashen, and his chest heaved violently. Drawing Starfall Heavenly Punishment had clearly drained a massive amount of his strength.

The injury enraged the Faceless Angel. It threw a brutal punch, blasting the Nether King off its wing. Yama of the Ten Halls caved in instantly, spiderweb cracks fracturing across its surface.

The creature then brought its hands together in a triangle. Gray light carrying an aura of absolute annihilation surged into its palms, eventually coalescing into a small, pulsing gray sphere.

Sensing the terrifying power welling up within that gray sphere, the expressions of the Seven Kings changed instantly.

A split second later, the gray sphere shot toward the fallen Nether King.

Although the Faceless Angel was a Nightmare Creature, it still possessed some level of intelligence. It understood the principle that injuring ten fingers was never as effective as completely severing one.

Despair flickered across the Nether King's face. While Yama of the Ten Halls boasted incredible defense and the trait of absolute adaptation, adapting took time. The Faceless Angel's attacks were growing stronger with every strike, leaving him with absolutely no time to adjust.

If this strike landed, Yama of the Ten Halls would undoubtedly survive—it could repair itself—but the man inside it certainly wouldn't...

Just then, the King of Red Lotus moved. She raised the Red Lotus Heaven-Seizing Gourd in her hand and parted her crimson lips. "Seize!"

The exquisite little red jade gourd in her hand instantly expanded to the size of a normal gourd. A bizarre red mist surged from its mouth, spewing out like a ribbon of silk to completely envelop the gray sphere.

The gray sphere trembled violently, struggling to break free from its bindings, but the red mist held it down. The Red Lotus Heaven-Seizing Gourd released a massive suction force, dragging the mist and the trapped sphere straight into its mouth with a sharp whistle.

"Go!"

The King of Red Lotus aimed the gourd squarely at the Faceless Angel. Then, a miraculous sight unfolded—the same gray sphere that had just been swallowed shot back out of the gourd, hurtling directly toward the Faceless Angel.

The Faceless Angel tried to dodge, but the Saint King, having waited for the perfect opening, struck. From the palm of the Left Hand of God, a diamond-shaped golden gemstone fired billions of golden beams of order.

The beams wove together in midair, forming countless golden chains that crisscrossed through the void, completely locking down the space around the Faceless Angel.

The Faceless Angel struggled frantically. Crack, crack... The golden chains began to snap one by one. It was on the verge of breaking free, but the annihilating gray sphere had already arrived.

Boom!

The gray light detonated against the Faceless Angel. The blast eroded more than half of its towering body, almost entirely wiping out its waist and abdomen. A massive, gaping circular hole was left behind, with only the outermost edges keeping the creature's upper and lower halves connected.

Yet, instead of killing it, this horrifying injury only awakened the Faceless Angel's deepest ferocity.

Roar!!

The Faceless Angel let out a piercing shriek. Spreading its wings violently, it shattered the remaining golden chains crisscrossing the void.

The Saint King let out a muffled groan and coughed up a mouthful of blood, his body stumbling backward out of control.

The Faceless Angel's massive wings trembled, as if rapidly siphoning energy from the surrounding heaven and earth.

Gray light gathered. At first, it flickered around the creature like a faint, ghostly fire, but it rapidly intensified, surging outward like a raging tide that dyed the surrounding space a deep gray.

It raised its arms as if moving to embrace something. The gray light channeled from its wings into its arms, creeping up its neck until it finally gathered on that perfectly smooth, featureless face.

A swirling gray halo of light took shape over its face. Within that glow, stars seemed to shatter and all creation fell silent. The entire world appeared to tremble beneath the weight of the power it was about to unleash.

"Stop it! I'm almost ready!" the Dragon King shouted, his eyes splitting with rage. He hadn't joined the fray; instead, he gripped his scabbard in a death grip, frantically pouring every ounce of his power into it.

A murky, indistinct glimmer of sword-light flickered at the mouth of the scabbard, straining to burst free.

In a flash, the remaining six kings swarmed forward.

They threw everything they had at the Faceless Angel, diving into brutal combat and risking devastating injuries just to interrupt it.

Suspended in midair, Su Mu watched the fierce battle with surging interest. It wasn't every day you got to see the Seven Kings fight a Saint Grade entity. Such a spectacular showdown was incredibly rare.

He felt quite satisfied with his choice to summon the Faceless Angel. It was the weakest Saint Grade nightmare he could find, deliberately handpicked because he was afraid of accidentally wiping out the Seven Kings in one fell swoop.

As the strongest seven individuals in the Divine Dream World, the Seven Kings represented more than just peak combat prowess—they were a symbol.

If the Seven Kings all died, the people of the Divine Dream World would completely surrender to despair and just sit back, waiting for death.

He just hadn't expected this generation of the Seven Kings to be so pathetic. To think they would be pushed to such a miserable state by a single Saint Grade entity—and that was even while wielding the Artifacts of the Seven Kings.

While some of their weakness came from the natural dilution of inherited bloodlines, the bigger issue was that the Seven Kings had grown far too comfortable. Su Mu didn't know about the other six, but he knew King Chi perfectly well. She spent every day in the Imperial Palace eating potato chips and reading indecent magazines. With a routine like that, it was impossible for her strength not to decline.

It was the same logic that applied to elite athletes—stop training for a while, and maintaining peak condition became impossible.

It was a good thing he hadn't summoned the Evil Buddha, otherwise the world might have truly ended today.

Su Mu lowered his eyes slightly, shifting his gaze back to the battlefield.

By now, apart from the Dragon King who was still charging up his ultimate attack, the other six kings were all injured to varying degrees. The Undead King had it the worst—in just a few short moments, he had already been battered to death more than a dozen times.

Just as Su Mu was about to subtly step in and help them, the Dragon King's attack was finally ready.

"Get out of the way!" the Dragon King roared, violently swinging the scabbard in his hand.

Shing!

A dazzling beam of sword-light erupted from the sheath. The sword qi blazed like a sun across the sky, carrying a peerlessly domineering sword intent as it tore through the void and pierced the heavens!

The Faceless Angel seemed to sense the fatal threat. It tried to dodge, but there was nowhere to run. The sword-light eclipsed the sky like a massive sun—it was utterly unavoidable!

It violently crossed its wings in front of itself in a desperate attempt to block.

But when the sword-light struck its wings, it sheared straight through them like a blade cutting through a paper canvas. It cleaved cleanly through the wings, and through the Faceless Angel's towering body right along with them.

The already heavily wounded Faceless Angel made no further sound. Severed cleanly in two, with a cut as smooth as a mirror, its massive body crashed heavily to the ground.

With its death, the raging ocean gradually settled into calm. The dark clouds blanketing the sky quietly scattered, and blinding sunlight poured down, breaking through the gloom that had shrouded the world!
