I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 368: The Faceless Angel Descends
The terrifying aura of the Saint Grade nightmare creature erupted outward. Dark clouds instantly blotted out the sky above the island, plunging the world into eternal darkness.
Everyone present stared fixedly at the massive rift beside Su Mu, seemingly forgetting to breathe.
They had never felt such overwhelming power. It was a terrifying aura that far surpassed a Gold King, feeling as though it stood above the entire world.
Suddenly, a leg stepped out from the pitch-black rift. Taller than a man, its muscles were smooth and perfectly defined, every contour finely sculpted beneath stone-gray skin.
When the foot landed in the great hall, the smooth floor seemed utterly incapable of bearing its terrifying weight. Dense, spiderweb-like cracks instantly fractured outward from the point of impact, shattering the stone.
The fissures continued to spread, covering almost the entire hall.
Seeing the cracks reach their feet, many Gold experts reeled in horror, subconsciously stumbling back a few steps.
Soon, more of the entity emerged from the darkness: a thigh, a torso, arms, wings, and finally, a head!
The darkness receded from this terrifying entity like a retreating tide, revealing its full form.
It was a towering, humanoid angel several zhang tall!Where its face should have been, there was only a smooth, featureless surface. It was like a mirror, capable of reflecting all the fear and desire in the world.
A Saint Grade nightmare creature—the Faceless Angel!
The Faceless Angel seemed to have squeezed itself out of the abyssal rift. It stood in the center of the hall, its massive wings slowly unfurling. They were so large that the palace could barely contain them. As they spread, their terrifying shadow slowly swallowed everyone present.
The moment its wings fully extended—Buzz!
An eerie hum resonated through the air, ringing like a death knell from the deepest depths of Hell.
Beneath his Silver-White Mask, Su Mu was a little surprised. Was this the Saint Grade? It even came with its own background music?
Thanks to the mask, no one could see his surprise. To the crowd, Pride was standing there like a demon god, accompanied by a "little pet" that was terrifying beyond imagination.
Even the Dragon King, who had been clamoring just moments ago, was shocked speechless. His dark golden vertical pupils were filled with grave caution and dread.
Only now did these seven peak experts of the world truly understand what a God was.
They still did not know exactly how powerful a God was, but they knew that the "little pet" casually summoned by one was already unimaginably strong.
The stronger a person was, the more clearly they could sense the Faceless Angel's terrifying nature. Its aura completely eclipsed that of a Gold King, leaving even the Seven Kings trembling.
They were simply not on the same level!
...
...
Nightmare World.
The Pope's bloodshot eyes were inches away. A dark gleam flashed deep within his pupils as he greedily scanned Su Qing's delicate body.
Feeling more and more of the Pope's memories flooding her mind, Su Qing began to panic. She considered abandoning her consciousness in this clone entirely, but seeing her unconscious teammates beside her and thinking of Su Mu in the Abyss, she hesitated.
Having spent all her time in the Imperial Palace, she had no real friends. A King did not need friends. She disliked her life as King Chi; instead, she found genuine joy in adventuring with companions on equal footing.
She didn't know if she could call these people her friends, but deep down, she didn't want them to die—especially Su Mu.
Think of something! Come on, brain, work!
Right at that moment, Su Qing noticed the shadow beneath the Pope's feet move!
A shadow?
Could it be...
Suddenly, the Pope's shadow rippled like water. It surged upward like a fountain, rising higher and higher until it formed a humanoid silhouette. It was a humanoid entity completely encased in Shadow Armor.
Su Qing was instantly overjoyed. Is it Bubai?
Is Su Mu here?
Realizing what was happening, she shot a nervous glance at the Pope, only to find him completely oblivious.
Of course. The Pope's soul was currently transferring into her body. His own physical form was rapidly becoming an empty vessel, severely dulling his perception—not to mention he had his back turned to Bubai.
Behind him, the humanoid shadow silently raised its hand.
Displaying a rare burst of quick thinking, Su Qing struggled to sit up, hoping to make some noise and distract the Pope. But her efforts were useless; she couldn't muster a single ounce of strength.
Desperate, she suddenly shouted, "Wait! I need to use the bathroom!"
The Pope paused. Looking at Su Qing's flushed face, he gave a sinister smile. "Don't worry, I'll go for you in a moment. You just have to wait—Argh!"
The Pope let out a sudden, miserable shriek. He looked down, only to see a massive hand made of shadows bursting through his chest.
Bang!
The holy light connecting Su Qing and the Pope violently shattered, bursting into a flurry of glowing fragments that drifted like willow catkins. The Pope's eyes rolled back, his soul wavering on the brink of collapse.
"Go!" Su Mu's voice rang out from beneath the Shadow Armor.
Swoosh!
A shadow enveloped Su Qing, Lin Lingling, and the others, instantly teleporting them toward the shadows outside the palace.
"Su Mu! You're still alive!" the Pope roared in fury. Endless holy light erupted from his body as he prepared to strike, but he staggered and nearly collapsed. He managed to catch himself on the circular platform, barely steadying his footing.
The dancing fragments of holy light rapidly flowed back into his body. It was his soul power.
Seizing the opening, Su Mu rapidly chained shadow jumps, fleeing Holy Brilliance City at top speed.
Within the Shadow Space, Su Qing looked at Su Mu in delighted surprise.
"How are you here? Didn't you go to the Abyss..."
Su Mu focused intently on the outside world. Keeping his profile turned to Su Qing, he said calmly, "It's a long story. Let's get somewhere safe first."
He continuously controlled Bubai to shadow jump, causing the outside scenery to blur past in a rapid shift of environments.
Realizing this was no time for conversation, Su Qing obediently shut her mouth. She admired Su Mu's side profile for a moment before turning her gaze toward the Shadow Space's only window to the outside world—Bubai's eyes.
The outside environment flickered continuously until it finally settled on a modern city swarming with zombies.
Su Mu finally came to a halt, and the Shadow Space enveloping them slowly receded.
Turning her head with difficulty, Su Qing took in their surroundings. She realized they were on the rooftop of a skyscraper, the occasional roar of a zombie echoing from the streets below.
"Where are we?" Having recovered a sliver of strength, she struggled to her feet. But before she could even steady herself, her legs gave out, and she plummeted straight toward the hard concrete.
Just then, a strong arm wrapped around her slender waist, catching her.
Su Qing looked up, her eyes immediately drawn to the sharp, handsome contours of Su Mu's profile.
At the same time, a clean, masculine scent drifted into her nose. Su Qing's cheeks flushed crimson, and her already hazy mind seemed to grow even more muddled.
