I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 367: Pride Appears at the Seven Kings Council

  • Next Chapter

"Millions?" the King of Red Lotus chuckled. "That's not so many, is it? Roughly equivalent to a single city in my territory?"

King Chi's eyes darkened. Perhaps hostility sparked more easily between those of the same sex, because from the very beginning of the Seven Kings Council, she had felt the King of Red Lotus harboring an inexplicable animosity toward her.

"That's different. The millions I am talking about are not ordinary people. They are millions of Transcendents wielding an extraordinary power known as Primal Divine Magic!"

"The most terrifying of all is the Pope of the Primal Divine Cult. His strength is unfathomable. He once instantly killed a Gold Grade nightmare monster with a single strike..."

"Instantly kill a Gold?" the Dragon King sneered, a crooked smile on his face. "I ask you, who among us here cannot do that? Oh, I almost forgot. Her Highness, the newly ascended King Chi, might find that a bit difficult, no?"

He ignored King Chi's furious gaze and continued self-importantly, "I haven't had a worthy opponent in this world for a long time. Now that a suspected Gold King has appeared in the Nightmare World, things are finally getting interesting. At least I won't be bored."

"Hmph. And what about Pride?" King Chi sneered. "If you add Pride to the mix, can you really fight two Gold Kings at the same time?"

The Dragon King replied unhurriedly, "That would be even more amusing. I'd gladly give it a try."

"Is that so? You want to try?" an indifferent voice suddenly rang out from directly behind the Dragon King.

At the sound of this unfamiliar voice, the expressions of every Gold powerhouse who had accompanied the Seven Kings drastically changed.

They all stared in horror at the tall, slender figure standing behind the Dragon King.

The air froze!

Dressed in a deep black tailcoat, a pair of white-gloved hands rested elegantly upon a gentleman's cane. A top hat sat on his head, and beneath its brim was a cold Silver-White Mask!

A contemptuous smile was carved into the mask, as if silently mocking everyone in the room.

The Head of the Seven Deadly Sins... Pride!

No one had expected someone to brazenly intrude upon the Seven Kings Council—a gathering of the world's absolute pinnacle combatants. Moreover, this intruder was the very target they had gathered to crusade against.

Seven terrifying auras erupted simultaneously, vast as the abyss, causing the entire island to tremble violently.

As the gazes of the Seven Kings locked onto Su Mu, the air around him grew immeasurably heavy.

The Dragon King abruptly turned around and stared coldly at Su Mu, letting out a soft chuckle. "You are Pride?"

His tone was incredibly dismissive. He was practically more arrogant than Pride himself.

Looking at the twelve-year-old boy in front of him—who only reached his waist—Su Mu didn't answer. Instead, he reached out a hand to measure the height difference, then turned to the crowd and asked, "Whose kid is this?"

The moment he said this, dead silence fell over the hall!

Everyone in the world knew the Dragon King despised anyone mentioning his height and age. Yet Pride had just touched both of his reverse scales at once.

Dark clouds gathered on the Dragon King's face as a thunderous fury brewed within him.

"Bastard!"

He roared and thrust out his short right hand. In an instant, his arm was covered in dense golden dragon scales as tough as black iron, pulsing with apocalyptic power.

The dragon claw slashed viciously toward Su Mu, attempting to tear him to shreds.

The void tore open like fragile paper, leaving a massive rift in the air. But Su Mu's body was like flowers in a mirror and the moon in the water, completely untouchable.

"Dragon King, it's just a phantom," the Undead King, who had suffered at this trick before, reminded him.

The other Gold Kings extended their senses, sweeping the surroundings to locate Su Mu's true body, but found absolutely nothing.

King Chi didn't make a move. Instead, her expression shifted slightly. Beneath her wide, dark-gold sleeves, her slender, pale fingers subconsciously rubbed the False Supreme Heaven.

Supreme Heaven was indeed in Pride's possession!

Through her resonance with the False Supreme Heaven, she was absolutely certain that the one who had taken Supreme Heaven from the Abyss was none other than Pride!

Everyone's attention was locked on Su Mu, so no one noticed King Chi's unusual reaction. And it was impossible for King Chi herself to reveal this information.

As the ultimate artifact of the Chiyan Empire, if word ever got out that Supreme Heaven was lost, the consequences would be catastrophic.

"Hmph! What Head of the Seven Deadly Sins? You're just a cowardly rat hiding your face. Before me, you only dare to show yourself as a phantom!" the Dragon King snapped angrily.

An indifferent voice echoed from beneath the Silver-White Mask: "You are nothing but ants peering at the sky from the bottom of a well. Do you really think you are worthy of gazing upon a God?"

"What did you say!?"

"I said you are ants. Of course, that wasn't directed solely at you. What I mean is... everyone sitting here is an ant."

The faces of the seven Gold Kings instantly turned cold, astonishing killing intent flashing in their eyes. A King was not to be insulted so lightly!

Ignoring those seven terrifying, profound glares, Su Mu continued indifferently, "Foolish mortals. You always use your ridiculous logic to fathom a God, even vainly attempting God-Slaying. Little do you know, whenever humanity thinks, the gods laugh."

The expressions of the Seven Kings grew increasingly ugly. In this entire world, no one had ever dared to despise them so openly.

"Enough nonsense!" the Undead King suddenly sneered. "Pride, even if you are an avatar of a God, so what? As far as I know, a God cannot descend into reality at all. You think a God who can't even show himself can bluff us?"

"Hmph!" the Dragon King sneered with a crooked smile. "And what if you do show yourself? You're just a false God! Even if your true body descends, I can still achieve God-Slaying!"

Hearing the Dragon King's words, Su Mu almost laughed. The other party truly exemplified what it meant to be a frog at the bottom of a well. His worldview was entirely confined to this false realm; because he had become the strongest here, he assumed he had reached the absolute peak. He had no idea that in front of a God, a Gold King couldn't even be called an ant.

It was time to let these arrogant ants, drowning in their own delusions, witness the cruel truth of this world.

"Heh..." A contemptuous laugh drifted from beneath the Silver-White Mask. "Commendable courage. Since that is the case, I will grant you the privilege of witnessing a God. That is, provided you can survive my little pet."

Little pet?

The Dragon King sneered, "It's merely a Nightmare Creature. Such trash, I can..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he abruptly choked on his words and stared at Su Mu in sheer disbelief.

At some unknown point, a massive, bottomless rift resembling the Abyss had torn open beside Su Mu. Inside the rift, endless darkness writhed like a mass of insects.

An aura of absolute terror emerged from the rift, seeping out in wisps and threads like a materialized nightmare.

Bzzzt, bzzzt...

The lightbulbs illuminating the grand hall began to flicker wildly, and a violent gale suddenly swept over the island.

As the cold wind carrying this aura washed over them, everyone felt a piercing, bone-deep chill. It was as if a freezing gale straight from the deepest depths of Hell could bypass their clothing and skin, cutting directly to the bone!

At the same time, an indescribable sense of oppression crashed down upon them like a collapsing mountain. Every person in the hall felt as though a massive, invisible hand had seized their hearts in a death grip, reducing their breaths to rapid, shallow gasps.

Even someone as powerful as the Dragon King felt his blood run cold. The draconic bloodline coursing through his veins was frantically screaming in warning.
