I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 310: Twelve Swords of Royal Power — Mirage!
Deep within the treasury, gem-like Totem Stones of various colors sat in neat rows, including several Gold Grade Totem Stones. Hundreds of Artifacts lay in heaps alongside them—an archaic bronze shield, a crown radiating iridescent light, a sword faintly echoing with the roar of a dragon...
While Su Mu lost himself in the riches of the Blood Moon Treasury, his teammates found themselves in dire straits.
You City.
Dongfang Yuan panted heavily, his breathing ragged. Five Gold Blood Clan members had him completely surrounded.
Sikong Zhen had also lost his previous ferocity. Caught in a pincer attack by two Blood Clan members, he could only parry awkwardly, his body already marked with bloody gashes.
Of the three Gold powerhouses who had accompanied them, two were severely injured and the third had been knocked unconscious and captured alive. Their situation was equally grim.
A battle involving double-digit Gold powerhouses unleashed unimaginable devastation upon the terrain. By now, the entirety of You City had been reduced to ruins. The very earth had split open into massive rifts that spewed geysers of magma, transforming the city into a hell on earth.
Their mission was already complete. They wanted to flee, but escape was utterly impossible. Too many Gold Blood Clan reinforcements had rushed to the scene, trapping them completely.
Barring the unexpected, they would all die here. Dongfang Yuan might just barely manage to slip away, but the others were undoubtedly doomed.
Imperial Capital Core District.Specter was in the midst of a frantic retreat. A swarm of Gold Blood Clan members spread their bat wings, relentlessly chasing and trying to intercept him. Yet, he paid them little mind. He had survived this long as the leader of the Revolutionary Army without being eradicated for one simple reason: he was exceptionally fast.
Propelled by his Psychokinesis, he could launch his body like a missile, reaching speeds that far exceeded those of ordinary Gold powerhouses.
His true concern was the woman dogging his every step. She wore purple lipstick, and her delicate face was covered in a network of scarlet, vein-like patterns. Her speed was so terrifyingly fast it bordered on teleportation.
Worse still, every time this woman struck, she caused the blood in his veins to flow backward. If he hadn't used his Psychokinesis to forcibly suppress the effect, he would have already exploded in a shower of blood.
Blood Moon Law Enforcement Bureau.
"Search everywhere! Don't miss a single suspicious spot! That Provisional member of the Seven Deadly Sins is heavily injured; he couldn't have gotten far!"
Countless Blood Clan members in enforcer uniforms scoured the streets and alleys, frantically hunting for any trace of Lin Canyang.
Meanwhile, Lin Canyang was hiding in a cold, foul-smelling sewer, clinging to his life. His chest heaved rapidly, his face was deathly pale, and his body was caked in blood.
He desperately cupped the filthy sewer water in his hands, scrubbing away the bloodstains on his body. The Blood Clan had an exceptionally keen sense of smell for blood; he had to use this putrid water to mask the metallic scent.
Remembering the awe-inspiring sight of his five teammates descending from the sky earlier, and then looking at his current wretched self, hiding in a sewer like a rat, he let out a heavy sigh.
"Sure enough, I still have a long way to go before I can become a full member."
Just then, the dense clatter of footsteps echoed from directly above him.
"There seems to be the smell of blood over here! Come quickly!"
Several Blood Clan members rushed over to investigate. Lin Canyang's expression shifted drastically. He didn't want to die. He had finally been given a new lease on life, a bright future—how could he die here like this?
He was the dignified Provisional Third Seat of the Seven Deadly Sins. To die in a filthy sewer would be the ultimate humiliation.
Gritting his teeth, he ignored the dead rats, loose feces, and other foul matter floating in the murky water before him. He threw himself flat, submerging his entire body in the vile sewage.
Blood Bank.
Taoist Priest Xuanqing laughed wildly. "Hahaha... This poor Daoist is truly brilliant! I picked the safest spot of all. To think this place is only guarded by a few members of the silver blood clan! Hahaha..."
Still cackling, he wantonly smashed everything in sight, completely trashing the Blood Bank.
He marched deeper into the Blood Bank as if entering an uninhabited realm. Suddenly, he heard the faint sound of crying.
Driven by curiosity, he followed the sound deeper, ultimately arriving at a massive dungeon divided into countless cramped cells.
Every single cell was packed with people. They were covered in filth and their hair hung in tangled, disheveled mats, making it impossible to even make out their faces. Every pair of eyes staring out from the darkness was filled with hollow numbness and utter despair.
The crying came from a baby in one of the cells. The infant was clutched in the arms of an emaciated mother. He seemed starving, desperately suckling at his mother's breast, but the painfully thin woman had not a single drop of milk left to give.
The mother looked at her child in heartache. Slowly, she placed her hand on the baby's neck. She hesitated, withdrawing her hand and extending it again several times, as if trying to make a horrific decision.
Taoist Priest Xuanqing fell silent. He was by no means a good man. In his youth, he had killed quite a few people to use as human sacrifices in service to the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity. Yet, even so, witnessing the hell on earth before him made his chest feel heavy.
"Even a rotten bastard like this poor Daoist wants to cry at this sight. The Blood Clan truly deserves to die!"
Slash!
A flash of sword light swept past, and the chains on the cells crashed to the floor, startling the numb people inside.
Many people blankly lifted their heads, a Silver-White Mask entering their vision.
"You are all free."
The prisoners remained frozen in place, not showing a single hint of reaction.
Taoist Priest Xuanqing furrowed his brows. "Hey! I said you're free! Hurry up and run!"
At his loud shout, emotion finally rippled in their eyes. However, what they revealed was fear—fear carved into their souls.
Taoist Priest Xuanqing stared blankly and thought, My mask is Lust. It just looks a little perverted. Is it really that terrifying?
Just as that thought crossed his mind, a suffocatingly thick stench of blood suddenly drifted from behind him. It was accompanied by an overwhelmingly terrifying aura of pressure.
Taoist Priest Xuanqing froze. He felt something staring at him from behind. Under the weight of that gaze, every cell in his body trembled, and the fear engraved in his genes was faintly stirred.
Danger, danger, danger!!
All his cells were sounding the alarm!
"No... my luck can't possibly be this bad..."
Moving as stiffly as a robot, he turned his body. The moment he looked, his soul nearly shot out of his body in terror!
...
...
"As expected of the Blood Moon Treasury. The collection is indeed rich, but it seems the absolute top-tier treasures aren't here," Su Mu thought silently.
While the treasures here were precious, the vault lacked truly unique, world-shaking rarities. He refused to believe that the dignified Blood Moon Empire, one of the Seven Great Empires, couldn't get its hands on items of that caliber. The only possibility was that the most valuable treasures were kept on the Undead King himself.
For example, a Royal Power Artifact.
Of course, he didn't mind too much. Emptying the treasury was enough; there was no need to be overly greedy.
He collected everything as he walked. Before long, the previously dazzling treasury had been completely emptied. Just as he reached the deepest depths, his gaze was involuntarily drawn to a sword.
It was a crystal sword suspended on the wall deep within the treasury.
This sword was incredibly peculiar. Its blade was so slender it was practically transparent, looking like a piece of crystal artwork that would shatter at the slightest touch.
Its true peculiarity lay in the fact that it didn't seem physical. It existed between reality and illusion, shimmering like a mirage.
"This is..." Su Mu recognized the sword. "One of the Twelve Swords of Royal Power... Mirage!"
