I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 289: A Single Cloud-Piercing Arrow Is Shot, and a Thousand Armies and Ten Thousand Horses Come to Meet

The intense pressure almost suffocated everyone. Even Su Qing looked horrified, her petite frame struggling to stay upright.

The others had long since collapsed. Pinned by the statue's gaze, they couldn't stand at all as a primal terror—one seemingly engraved into human genetics—surfaced.

"It's over... We're done for..." The heavily injured Zhou Hui stared in despair at the approaching bishop, tears sliding uncontrollably down her cheeks.

In stark contrast, the surrounding Twisted Ones were incredibly fanatical. Under the gaze of the God, they raised their weapons high, standing tall and proud as they surrounded the group.

The only one who maintained his calm under this intense pressure was Su Mu.

He stood tall, facing the bishop from a distance, his composure unwavering. He even took a moment to smooth down a corner of his shirt that had been ruffled by the wind.

He parted his lips. "Judging by the time, they should be here."

As he spoke, the Black Fog at the edge of the nightmare silently surged. Figures in holy white robes rushed out from the dark mist. Their numbers multiplied rapidly—a hundred! A thousand! Ten thousand!!

Eventually, they formed a tidal wave, surging forward like a white flood.

The bishop's expression abruptly changed. "The Primal Heretics! Damn it, are you trying to start a war with my Twisted Divine Cult?"

However, the tens of thousands of Primal Cultists completely ignored him. Instead, they stared fanatically at Su Mu. When they saw the God's Eye between his brows, they trembled with excitement.

"We greet the Lord Divine Envoy!!"

The fanatical voices of over ten thousand people practically pierced the clouds!

They devoutly dropped to one knee, their gazes burning with fervor.

"Divine... Divine Envoy..." The bishop was instantly horrified, staring at Su Mu in disbelief.

He wasn't the only one; Su Qing and the rest were equally appalled. They stared dumbfounded, as if seeing Su Mu for the first time. They couldn't begin to understand why people from the Nightmare World would call him a Divine Envoy.

And where had all these people come from?

Only Su Mu knew the truth. Back when he first arrived in the territory of the Twisted Divine Cult, he had taken a precaution: he tossed the emblem of the Primal Divine Cult, along with a strand of his own hair, into the Black Fog.

He had injected the emblem with Primal divine power and left a message inside it, giving it a fatal attraction for the Primal Cultists. The strand of hair, naturally, allowed them to cast a Divine Art to track him down.

This was the Middle Hell, the territory of the human race. As the largest faction in the Middle Hell, the Primal Divine Cult could swiftly rally after sensing the Divine Envoy.

Su Mu had been waiting these past few days exactly for this—the Primal Divine Cult!

Through the resonance of his Primal Divinity, he had confirmed that the Primal Cultists were already nearby.

"Rise," Su Mu said indifferently, putting on the airs of a Divine Envoy.

The tens of thousands of Primal Cultists immediately stood. An old man in red robes tremblingly stepped forward, holding the cult emblem high with both hands. "O Great Divine Envoy, this lowly one is named Hongye, a red-robed archbishop of the Primal Divine Cult. I have arrived late; please forgive me, Lord Divine Envoy."

Su Mu casually retrieved the emblem he had tossed out earlier. "You are indeed guilty."

Hongye shuddered violently, pressing his head firmly against the ground. "Please punish me, Lord Divine Envoy!"

"Your punishment shall be to atone for your crimes through service. The Twisted Heretics sought to harm this Divine Envoy—they must be executed!"

Flames of rage abruptly flared in Hongye's eyes, an anger mirrored by all ten thousand Primal Cultists. They were already hostile toward the Twisted Divine Cult, and now that these heretics had dared to offend the Divine Envoy, this was a fight to the death.

"Yes, Lord Divine Envoy! Even if my bones are ground to dust, this lowly one will annihilate these heretics!"

He shot to his feet and roared to the Primal Cultists, "Believers! The time for the Lord Divine Envoy to test us has arrived! These heretics dared to offend the Divine Envoy; we must incinerate their sins with holy fire! Kill!!"

Led by Hongye, the tens of thousands of Primal Cultists madly charged the Twisted Cultists.

The clash instantly escalated into a massive war.

Su Qing and the others watched, dumbfounded, their minds reeling from the shock.

Suddenly, Su Qing seemed to realize something. Staring fixedly at the emblem in Su Mu's hand, she remembered that on the very first day he arrived, he had thrown this exact item into the Black Fog.

What in the world was that thing? It was just like the saying—a single cloud-piercing arrow is shot, and a thousand armies and ten thousand horses come to meet.

These highly experienced Silver Grade Nightmare Apostles were stupefied. It wasn't that they had never seen high-ranking bigwigs rally countless followers with a single call, but that only happened in reality!

Just who was their captain?!

To actually command such a massive faction in the Nightmare World.

With tens of thousands of Primal Cultists joining the fray, the battle turned into a one-sided slaughter against the Twisted Divine Cult.

There was a good reason why the Primal Divine Cult was the most powerful faction in the Middle Hell. Although the twisting power of the Twisted Ones was eerie, it couldn't withstand the Primal Cultists' suicidal tactics.

These zealots shouted praises to the Lord Divine Envoy before igniting blazing holy flames across their bodies. Plunging into the enemy ranks, they acted as human bombs, detonating in showers of fiery sparks.

However, the battle between Hongye and the Twisted Bishop was exceptionally grueling. It wasn't that Hongye lacked strength—as a red-robed archbishop, he was also at the Gold Grade—but this was the Twisted Divine Cult's home turf. With the God's statue anchoring the area, he was naturally at a disadvantage.

As resplendent holy flames clashed with twisting power, Hongye steadily lost ground. Under the statue's gaze, he couldn't unleash his full strength.

"Hahaha... The great Twisted God is invincible! Today is the perfect day to wipe out all you heretics in one fell swoop!" The Twisted Bishop looked maniacal. Even though his flesh had been scorched black by holy flames, his fighting spirit raged on because the Twisted God was watching him.

At that moment, Su Mu stepped into the fray. "Hongye, only a God can deal with a God. Offer your power to me."

Hongye was ecstatic. The mere thought of witnessing a God's power made him tremble with excitement.

He roared, "Believers! The Lord Divine Envoy needs you!"

"For the Primal Angel! Sacrifice!!"

Countless Primal Cultists fanatically drew their daggers, plunged the blades viciously into their own hearts, and collapsed to the ground.

Motes of holy light drifted from their corpses, streaming continuously into the God's Eye.

As the surrounding light madly surged into the God's Eye, it grew increasingly resplendent, its gaze blazing fiercely.

Gradually, Su Mu's body was enveloped in holy light. He looked like a God, an eerie chorus of praise echoing all around him.

Boom!!

Holy light blasted out from the God's Eye, instantly illuminating the world as bright as day. Absolutely everything was swallowed by the radiance, the extreme brilliance making it impossible for anyone to open their eyes.

All sound was similarly devoured, leaving only that eerie chorus of praise to resound through the air.
