I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 235: King Chi Appears
"I've already mastered the Seven Halls Yama. When do we make our move?" a cold voice asked from within the cell. It was Yang Dongqing.
Specter turned to look at him, noticing a vicious, brutal glint hidden deep in his eyes. That was the Seven Halls Yama's influence. If he couldn't overcome it, Yang Dongqing would eventually become its puppet and lose his mind entirely.
He knew Yang Dongqing possessed relatively firm willpower, but he still didn't believe the man could fully control the Seven Halls Yama. Yang Dongqing's heart overflowed with hatred, and that resentment was a fatal flaw in his psyche.
But it didn't matter. To him, Yang Dongqing was nothing more than a pawn. The only thing special about this piece was the high regard Pride had for him.
He genuinely wondered what exactly Pride saw in Yang Dongqing. Perhaps Pride possessed some method of seeing the future, which was why he claimed to be so optimistic about the man's potential.
Specter stopped dwelling on it. Pride's favor had only made him shift his perspective slightly, elevating Yang Dongqing's importance just a fraction. He had gone from a disposable pawn to a valuable one—a piece that wouldn't be sacrificed unless absolutely necessary.
"Soon," Specter replied. "I've already sensed unusual movements in Prison 749. They should be making preparations. In half a day at the earliest, or a full day at the latest, they will definitely make their move."
Things played out exactly as Specter predicted. Deep in the night, the Transcendents guarding Prison 749 woke the sleeping inmates, urging everyone out of their cells.
Specter and Yang Dongqing silently followed the crowd outside. They were soon brought to an underground plaza deep within Prison 749. Its construction was incredibly simple—the dome, walls, and floor were all coated in silver metal.
Specter recognized it at a glance: Mithril Alloy. Although the Mithril mixed into it was quite diluted, the sheer, massive area of the plaza made up for it. It wasn't hard to imagine just how much Mithril had been consumed to construct this place alone. On one hand, this was to prevent prison riots and break-ins; on the other, it served to completely isolate the area from outside detection.
Even Transcendents equipped with investigative abilities could only stare and sigh in frustration when faced with walls forged from Mithril Alloy.
Soon, the mob of prisoners was herded into a massive cage. Bang! The heavy doors slammed shut, leaving the inmates' faces pale with anxiety and terror.
They didn't know what was about to happen, but judging by the setup, it couldn't be anything good. Some screamed that they were innocent, while others frantically beat against the bars of the cage.
However, the enforcers standing guard around the plaza remained cold and entirely silent.
Specter shot Yang Dongqing a look before finding a quiet corner to stand and wait for King Chi to appear. His mood was heavy. He had no absolute certainty of victory for this operation, but he had no choice but to take the risk.
Facing the legendary King Chi, anyone would find it hard to stay calm.
Outside the cage, in full view of the crowd, a figure wearing a tailcoat and a Silver-White Mask stood brazenly in the open. He paced around casually, yet every single person present turned a blind eye to him.
This arrival was none other than Su Mu. Naturally, he wasn't going to miss such an exciting scene. With his dream teleportation, he had long since bypassed the limits of distance; after getting Duanmu Qing settled, he had rushed straight over.
As a non-combat member of the Seven Deadly Sins, Duanmu Qing had been given a very simple task by Su Mu: brew the Silver Law Potion, Follower of Strength, and convert the one billion in transcendent materials provided by the Revolutionary Army into as many usable Transcendent Potions as possible.
Poor Duanmu Qing. She had just escaped her life of slaving away for her company, only to turn right around and join the Seven Deadly Sins to continue toiling like a pack mule. Despite her codename being Sloth, she was undoubtedly the hardest worker in the entire organization.
Su Mu waited quietly for the show to start. He wasn't just here to watch; his main goal was to grab a piece of the pie and see if he could use the chaos to snatch away Supreme Heaven.
A legendary Royal Power Artifact alone wasn't enough to tempt him, but the ability to grant wishes changed everything.
In truth, the moment he learned of Supreme Heaven's abilities, he had set his sights on it, realizing the treasure was simply too perfect for him.
Achieving wishes through equivalent exchange—even though he didn't know the upper limit of these wishes, it surely couldn't fail at something as simple as boosting his physical strength, right?
As long as he obtained Supreme Heaven, he could use it to convert his practically infinite mental energy into physical strength. Once that happened, he would be completely free of the burden of his endlessly growing mental power.
More precisely, he could set both his body and mind into a state of infinite growth. When that time came, he would literally grow stronger just by sleeping.
As for the restriction that Supreme Heaven couldn't be used by anyone outside the Royal Family, that was an easy fix—wouldn't simply mind-controlling a Royal Family member solve the problem?
It was a beautiful idea, but fraught with difficulties. Snatching Supreme Heaven right out from under King Chi and Specter's noses would be immensely challenging. More importantly, Su Mu didn't believe for a second that King Chi would come completely unprepared.
There were too many smart people in this world. If Specter could figure out that this was the only opportunity to get close to Supreme Heaven, wouldn't someone in the Royal Family have realized it too?
Not long after, a commotion rippled across the plaza. A breathtakingly beautiful young woman dressed in a dark-gold phoenix robe strolled forward gracefully, surrounded by a throng of guards.
It was King Chi!
With King Chi's appearance, the entire plaza fell into an eerie silence. Even the most heinous and vicious of the prisoners began to tremble subconsciously.
Some people were simply born to be the center of the world. Just by standing there, even amidst a sea of people, they effortlessly drew everyone's absolute attention.
King Chi was exactly that kind of person. Her face was cold and exquisitely beautiful, her eyebrows like distant mountains, and her eyes like frozen stars. Beneath her high-bridged nose, her slightly pursed lips exuded an undeniable aura of absolute dominance. Her world-conquering presence seemed to freeze the very air around her.
Under that crushing pressure, every living soul was too terrified to make a sound.
However, even with King Chi shining so brilliantly, the young man beside her still attracted quite a few stares.
His skin was so pale it was almost transparent, as if he had never seen the sun. His frame looked incredibly frail, radiating a sickly aura. That bloodless face was like white jade covered in frost and snow—cold and fragile.
Yet his eyes were incredibly profound. Even behind a pair of thick glasses, the gleam within them couldn't be hidden. Through the lenses, one could see the intense focus and contemplation in his gaze, as if he were puzzling over complex problems at every waking moment.
King Chi and Gongsun Quan!
Specter opened his eyes and covertly sized them up. A flash of wariness flickered in his gaze.
If King Chi was an unrivaled powerhouse who dominated the world, then Gongsun Quan was an unparalleled mastermind of peerless intellect. Despite his youth, he had earned the absolute trust of the throne and had driven the Revolutionary Army into dire straits on multiple occasions.
If asked who Specter was wariest of within the Chiyan Empire, King Chi and Gongsun Quan were absolutely on the list. And of course, he now had to add one more name to that roster: the unfathomable Pride!
