I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 161: Under Attack
Lu Dongliang instantly realized what was happening. He shot a look at Su Mu and blurted, "Unless someone in the group is just too strong! To balance things out, the matchmaking system pulled in rookies, and the Nightmare's difficulty scaled up to match that person's strength!"
Both men stared at Su Mu, their eyes filled with profound shock. That had to be the reason! Mr. Su was so powerful that he had caused the difficulty of the entire Nightmare to skyrocket!
Su Mu offered a gentle smile. "Perhaps."
Through their conversation, he had gained a deeper understanding of the Nightmare World. He also understood why he had encountered a God this time—it was because of the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity!
The power of the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity lingered in his soul, and the Nightmare World had counted that power as his own. When he crashed Yang Dongqing's Nightmare, it shattered the balance.
Or perhaps it was a mutual attraction between Gods.
It didn't matter anymore. He was already here, and analyzing the reasons for his entry held no meaning.
"Ah! Sea monsters!" Startled cries suddenly erupted from the crew on the deck.
The group's expressions tightened. They hurried out of the cabin, only to see that over a dozen undead sirens had already crawled onto the deck. Even more sea monsters were breaching the surface, continuously scaling the hull.
A stench of rot permeated the air as seawater dripped steadily from the sea monsters, soaking the deck. The crew immediately descended into chaos. Someone tried to pull out a Sea Stone to drive the sea monsters away. However, the moment he raised it, a black fleshy tentacle completely bypassed the stone and wrapped around his hand. In an instant, the man's body went rigid. His skin lost all color, and he collapsed to the deck, dead.
Ordinary people had absolutely no ability to resist undead sirens. Those black fleshy tentacles could extract souls—a single touch meant certain death.
Only Transcendents like Yang Dongqing could withstand a few hits, but even they wouldn't last long.
"Don't panic! Get behind me!" Lu Dongliang's body began to swell bizarrely. His muscles knotted, and a crimson hue surfaced on his skin. He lunged forward, effortlessly smashing the sea monsters to pieces with a single punch each.
But it was completely useless. The shattered sea monsters turned into seawater and flowed back into the ocean, only for even more to climb aboard.
His eyes were crimson and densely bloodshot. The symptoms of his Berserk state were becoming increasingly obvious. "Damn it, I said don't panic! Move! Go steer the ship and get us out of here!"
If he actually knew how to sail a ship himself, he wouldn't have bothered caring whether these people lived or died.
He had overestimated these pampered citizens of the Sea Kingdom. Relying on Sea Stones to repel the undead sirens in the past meant they had barely engaged in any actual combat. Now that the stones had failed, they were completely thrown into disarray. Some were scared silly, standing frozen in place as they waited for death.
Tap!
The Snakewood Cane tapped lightly against the deck, emitting a crisp sound.
"Quiet." The calm voice seemed to carry some miraculous magic. When Su Mu spoke, the frantic noises across the entire deck abruptly ceased.
Then, the panicked crowd bizarrely calmed down. Orderly and in line, they ran into the cabin and began steering the ship to escape.
This eerie scene sent a jolt through Lu Dongliang. "Mr. Su never fails to impress!" he praised.
"Bind!" Mu Qing extended her pale hands, splaying her fingers like a blooming flower. The next moment, countless thorny vines sprouted across the ship, tightly wrapping around the undead sirens. The vines then whipped violently, flinging the monsters off the vessel one after another.
Although her Silver Sequence was quite low-tier, it was a rare area-of-effect ability, making it perfect for clearing out low-level grunts.
The ship accelerated madly, leaving the massing undead sirens behind in the ocean.
Once the crisis was averted, Lu Dongliang returned to normal. He spat into the ocean. "Fuck! If these things weren't unkillable, I would've slaughtered every last one of them."
Yang Dongqing was dumbfounded. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with that logic."
The ship sailed further and further away until the Sea Kingdom vanished entirely from their sight. They were surrounded by a vast, boundless ocean. Though sea monsters attacked from time to time, they were suppressed by the group's formidable strength and couldn't cause any real trouble.
"Going out to sea doesn't seem that dangerous after all." Lu Dongliang drained the coconut wine in his hand, a look of profound satisfaction on his face. Just as he was about to casually toss the bottle into the ocean, a massive dark shadow suddenly appeared beneath the waves.
The dark silhouette rose from the seabed, growing larger and deeper in color. To the naked eye, it was easily dozens of meters long!
The terrifying underwater shadow was several times larger than their ship!
As it rose directly beneath them, the surrounding currents churned violently. The ship pitched and rocked uncontrollably, feeling as though it could capsize at any second.
"Not good! It's trying to flip the ship!" Lu Dongliang's expression drastically changed. "Mr. Su, hurry up and have them accelerate."
Su Mu stared profoundly at the colossal shadow in the water. "This is already the ship's top speed," he said evenly.
Bang!
A massive tentacle over ten meters long broke through the surface, slamming viciously into the ship like a toppling ancient tree.
Crack!
The metal-reinforced wooden vessel instantly fractured with numerous deep cracks.
Then came a second tentacle, and a third...
A full seven tentacles crashed down onto the ship. They continuously tightened, wrapping a death grip around the hull. The ship groaned and cracked under the unbearable strain.
"Fuck your mother!" Lu Dongliang roared. His skin instantly flushed crimson as he launched a furious punch at one of the thickest tentacles.
Bang!
The terrifying brute force completely snapped the tentacle in half, turning the severed section into a pulp of mangled flesh.
"Stop!" Mu Qing cried out in alarm. Several vines shot up from beneath Lu Dongliang's feet, entangling his body.
"What are you doing?!" Lu Dongliang glared at her furiously, preparing to tear the vines off.
"You can't hit them anymore! The ship can't handle the force of your blows."
Startled, Lu Dongliang looked over at the severed tentacle. A massive, gaping hole had been smashed right through the deck beneath it.
"Fuck!" His rage surged, yet he didn't dare unleash his full strength. "If we were on land, I could take ten of these pieces of shit!"
Although Bloodshed Berserk lowered his rationality, he hadn't used his full power yet, so his intelligence hadn't hit rock bottom. He still knew that if the ship sank and they fell into the ocean, they would be fighting the sea monsters on their home turf.
Frustrated and helpless, Lu Dongliang could only resort to pulling at the tentacles with his bare hands, trying to hurl them back into the sea.
Meanwhile, Mu Qing continuously manipulated her vines, weaving them like yarn to patch up the fracturing ship.
As for Yang Dongqing, he was frantically attacking one of the tentacles on the side. He plunged his steel-like arms deep into the flesh, tearing at it wildly, but the appendage was simply too colossal. He couldn't inflict any meaningful damage in the short term.
Seeing the situation grow increasingly critical, the group could only cast pleading glances toward the mysterious and powerful Mr. Su.
Su Mu wasn't just standing idly by. He was simply waiting. He was waiting for the black fleshy tentacles on this giant octopus to appear, as he himself lacked wide-area attack abilities.
Although the Primal Angel's Eye of God was extremely potent, its attack range was very small. Against a behemoth of this scale, it was practically useless.
Moreover, fighting at sea was far too restrictive. The slightest misstep would destroy the ship, whereas the sea monster could attack freely.
Seeing that the ship was on the verge of collapsing and the black fleshy tentacles had yet to extend, Su Mu knew he couldn't wait any longer. So, he did something that left everyone pale with shock.
He... jumped into the ocean.
