I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 106: What Exactly Did You Do to Me? Su Mu!!!
His original plan had been simple: if he couldn't defeat Mu Cheng, he would retreat into the Shadow Dimension, use Zhao Yongqiang to jump to the Nightmare World, find an opportunity to grow stronger, and return to kill Mu Cheng. Who could have guessed the guy would completely discard his physical body?
He had even spouted that nonsense: flesh is weak, mechanical ascension.
That instantly changed Su Mu's mind. He prepared to give Mu Cheng a proper surprise.
He exited the dream. The mental energy completely drained by the Silver Vertical Pupil instantly replenished, even increasing by one percent.
Snap!
He snapped his fingers. Zhao Yongqiang instantly lost consciousness, pitching headfirst to the ground in a deep sleep.
An intrigued smile touched Su Mu's lips. "Things are getting more and more interesting. You relied on Nightmare Apostles to become a Transcendent, yet you look down on them. How spectacular will your expression be once you become a Nightmare Apostle yourself?
I'm truly... looking forward to it!"
He entered the dream once again, manipulating his own dreamscape to connect with Zhao Yongqiang's.
Gradually, a smear of blood-red appeared within Zhao Yongqiang's dream. As it slowly devoured that dreamscape, the red hue spread into Su Mu's dream like a plague....
...
Mu Cheng was still waiting. As time passed, his furious mood leveled out, and he regained the composure of a Silver powerhouse, sneering inwardly.
I am a complete cyborg. I can wait here forever without eating or drinking. What do you have to compare against me, Su Mu?
Just as he thought this, a smear of blood-red suddenly appeared in his vision, as if a layer of fresh blood had been wiped across his retinas. He didn't have retinas, which made the red hue all the more bizarre.
Mu Cheng started, but before he could react, the blood-red vanished. When his vision cleared, he froze in sheer shock.
"Th—this is..."
He looked around in astonishment. The ruins had completely disappeared, replaced by a lush forest. The sun hung high in the sky, and towering trees pierced the clouds.
However, despite the forest's apparent vitality, there was no sound. The wind, the birds, the falling leaves... there was nothing. There was only dead silence.
This primeval forest setting made Mu Cheng panic for a moment, but when he spotted Su Mu not far away, his panic instantly turned into a cold sneer.
Beneath a large tree a short distance away, Su Mu leaned on his Snakewood Cane and smiled in greeting. Behind his Tinted Glasses, his eyes harbored an unfathomable amusement.
"It seems I underestimated your Illusion Technique. To think it could actually fool my metal prosthetic eyes. This kind of Illusion Technique must act directly on the soul, right?" Mu Cheng sneered.
"But an Illusion Technique is just an Illusion Technique. In the face of absolute strength, it's a joke!"
Seeing Mu Cheng so confident, Su Mu felt reassured. He smiled in welcome. "Mr. Mu, welcome to the Nightmare World."
Nightmare World!?
Mu Cheng was taken aback but quickly recovered. "Hmph, playing tricks. Do you think that just because I'm not a Nightmare Apostle, I don't understand the nightmare—"
"Shh!" Su Mu gently pressed a finger to his lips and smiled faintly. "Whether I'm playing tricks or not, you merely need to sense the Law. The Real World has a barrier; even after becoming a Transcendent, one can only vaguely feel the Law. But the Nightmare World is different. If you just focus, you will find the Law clearly visible!"
Seeing Su Mu speak with such certainty, Mu Cheng's heart suddenly clenched. Although his instincts told him not to believe it, he subconsciously reached out to sense the Silver Law, and the result...
A Silver Law, spanning endless dimensions and reigning above the Bronze Law, appeared with absolute clarity in his perception.
"This is impossible!!" Mu Cheng roared in disbelief. "Illusion Technique! It's a fucking Illusion Technique! Don't even try to trick me! How could I suddenly appear in the Nightmare World? I've been completely awake, and after becoming a cyborg, I don't even need to sleep. I can't possibly become a Nightmare Apostle!"
"Seeing you so happy, Mr. Mu, puts my mind at ease. It makes all the effort I spent inviting you into the Nightmare World worthwhile."
"I don't believe it!" Mu Cheng grew increasingly terrified. As a Silver Transcendent, he had dealt with Nightmare Apostles plenty of times. He knew exactly how terrifying the Nightmare World was. It was a certain-death curse—whoever touched it died!
"This is all an Illusion Technique. If I kill you, the Illusion Technique will break. I'll kill you!"
Mu Cheng controlled the six cyborgs and was about to charge at Su Mu, but a second later, he froze abruptly. His body, composed of Mithril Alloy, actually began to tremble slightly.
Countless red dots had suddenly appeared in his metal prosthetic eyes. A dense, swarming cluster of red dots!
His metal prosthetic eyes possessed an infrared imaging function, allowing him to see the body heat of living lifeforms. These red dots meant countless living creatures were hidden in the forest!
Furthermore, the red dots were constantly growing larger, proving that these living creatures were swarming toward them like a tidal wave.
Su Mu's eyes flickered. He glanced toward the depths of the forest out of the corner of his eye. Although his vision was blocked by the lush trees, the powerful perception granted by his mental energy let him sense something rapidly approaching.
Abruptly, a figure charged out from the forest, planting itself right between Su Mu and Mu Cheng.
Upon seeing this figure, Mu Cheng's face instantly lost its color. This thing couldn't be called human at all. Although it had a humanoid shape, its neck ended in a smooth cross-section. It had no head!
Most bizarrely, the Headless One's body was inlaid with a dense multitude of ears. They came in all shapes and sizes, embedded directly into its flesh. Some were small and delicate, while others were wide and thick.
The ear-covered Headless One simply stood quietly between the two men, as if immobilized. It remained entirely motionless, save for the ears all over its body, which twitched faintly as if searching for something.
Su Mu narrowed his eyes slightly. He caught onto a bizarre detail: the Headless One had clearly rushed out from the woods, yet when its body broke through the brush, it didn't make a single sound. The Headless One didn't even have footsteps.
The appearance of the Headless One was the straw that broke the camel's back, causing Mu Cheng to utterly break down. He realized this wasn't an Illusion Technique; an Illusion Technique couldn't deceive his metal prosthetic eyes.
The flashing red light in his metal prosthetic eyes showed clearly that the Headless One before him was a living creature!
"Why!?" Mu Cheng roared in madness. He could no longer lie to himself. Whether it was the clearly visible Law or the living Headless One standing in front of him, everything was plainly telling him that this was no longer reality. It was... the Nightmare World!
"Why am I in the Nightmare World? Why have I become a Nightmare Apostle!? What exactly did you do to me? Su Mu!!!"
