I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 105: Trump Card
Mu Cheng bristled with rage. "Let's see how long you can stay so confident!"
A moment later, the six Mithril Alloy Cyborgs tightened their encirclement. They closed in on Su Mu step by step, moving agonizingly slow. It was a deliberate display of pressure—an attempt to draw out a look of desperate fear to satisfy Mu Cheng's twisted heart.
They were destined to be disappointed.
Su Mu merely offered a faint smile. With casual elegance, he reached out and accepted Bubai's invitation. Two hands—one pitch-black, one pale—clasped tightly in midair.
"Mr. Mu, both your methods and your story have thoroughly entertained me. In return, I've decided to give you a surprise. Please don't refuse."
A faint sense of unease gripped Mu Cheng. "Quick, grab him!"
The six cyborgs lunged forward, only to grasp empty air.
Su Mu was gone. In his place lay nothing but a pool of ink-black shadow.
He had escaped into Bubai's Shadow Dimension.
Bubai's Shadow Dimension wasn't just a tool for murder; it was equally effective for evading powerful foes."Ahhhh! Su Mu!" Mu Cheng's furious roar echoed through the ruins. He was ready to explode. He had thought victory was assured, only for his prey to slip away right under his nose. It felt exactly like playing a video game, deliberately refusing to destroy the enemy base to type out mockery, only to suffer a devastating comeback.
Had he not already turned himself into a faceless cyborg, his cheeks would undoubtedly be burning with humiliation.
"Su Mu! If you have any guts, stay in there forever! I'll stand guard right here!" Mu Cheng resolved viciously. The six bodies formed a tight circle, staring intently at the silhouette on the ground—Su Mu's shadow.
He guessed that Su Mu must be hiding inside that very patch of darkness. Why else would the man vanish while his shadow remained in place?
Mu Cheng's guess was entirely correct. Although Bubai could help Su Mu slip into the Shadow Dimension, one couldn't forget where the exit was located.
Right inside Su Mu's own shadow.
What Mu Cheng didn't know, however, was that Su Mu hadn't entered the Shadow Dimension to hide. He was preparing a massive surprise for him.
Inside the Shadow Dimension, Su Mu pulled a bottle of Vitality Potion from his jacket and downed it in one gulp. His depleted stamina recovered rapidly.
He didn't take the potion to use the Silver Vertical Pupil again. Even if he did, it would be pointless. Mu Cheng's soul could freely transfer between the six cyborgs, which meant that unless all six bodies were destroyed simultaneously, he was impossible to kill.
And with the Silver Vertical Pupil's current power, it could only destroy one.
His true killing move had never been the Silver Vertical Pupil. It was the dreamscape.
Ever since devouring the angel statue's Divinity, his dreamscape had gained a trace of reality. He hadn't been idle during his few days of rest; he had been constantly exploring the changes this newfound reality brought to the dreamscape.
His hard work had paid off, and he had finally figured out how to utilize it.
Sensing that his body had mostly recovered, Su Mu initiated his next step. He walked slowly toward the depths of the darkness, no longer holding Bubai's hand.
He was now essentially Bubai's master and fed the entity every day. Naturally, he didn't have to worry about breaking the rules and being attacked by it.
Soon, Su Mu came to a halt. A person stood before him—eyes shut tight, expression dull, standing completely still like a zombie. Judging from his slight trembling, the man had clearly been standing there for a long time.
He wore a white dress shirt and gold-rimmed glasses, and his hairline was receding. It was none other than the Bronze Coffin Company's nightmare apostle, Zhao Yongqiang.
Zhao Yongqiang was the only ordinary person to survive in the Abandoned District, and he was also on the verge of entering the Nightmare World.
During their very first meeting at the Bronze Coffin, this middle-aged man had looked tense. He claimed to have already felt the summons of his next Nightmare World, stated he needed a large sum of money to buy an Artifact, and then demanded Murong Mengli raise his pay.
It was precisely then that Su Mu had taken an interest in Zhao Yongqiang. He thoroughly enjoyed the Nightmare World, but normally, it took at least a month for a nightmare apostle to sense their next summons. That was far too long. He couldn't wait, so he had immediately thought of finding a way to tag along with Zhao Yongqiang into the Nightmare World.
This was also why Su Mu had gone out of his way to protect Zhao Yongqiang in the Abandoned District. Zhao Yongqiang was his ticket to the Nightmare World.
Later, after learning that Mu Cheng was coming to kill him, he had hypnotized Zhao Yongqiang to prevent him from falling asleep, pulling him into the Shadow Dimension for this exact moment.
Mu Cheng guarding the entrance to the Shadow Dimension had been well within Su Mu's expectations. There was no way he wouldn't leave a backup plan, and Zhao Yongqiang was it. He could use Zhao Yongqiang to enter the Nightmare World right from within the Shadow Dimension.
Su Mu began to cast hypnosis on himself. A moment later, he fell into a deep slumber and slowly entered the dreamscape.
This time, the dreamscape was empty, nothing but a vast expanse of nothingness. This was its baseline state; as long as he didn't manipulate it, the dreamscape would remain an absolute void.
Standing amid the void, Su Mu waved his hand. The emptiness before him instantly parted, revealing a scene from the Real World.
Above the ruins, the exasperated Mu Cheng lay in wait. The six Mithril Alloy Cyborgs formed a circle, standing motionless as they stared intently at the shadow on the ground.
This was one of the new abilities the dreamscape had gained after fusing with the Divinity. It was as if the connection with the Real World had strengthened, allowing him to see reality through the dream.
The enhanced dreamscape possessed a second ability: forcibly dragging other people's consciousness into the dream.
While recuperating at the Bronze Coffin, he had experimented with pulling ordinary employees into the dreamscape. Although he met intense resistance, he ultimately succeeded.
The resistance stemmed from the physical body, which acted as a barrier for the consciousness. To drag someone's consciousness into a dream, he first had to control the dreamscape to breach their physical barrier, envelop their consciousness, and then pull them in.
Ordinary people possessed frail bodies, so after expending a massive amount of mental energy, he was able to break through their physical barriers and pull their consciousness into the dreamscape.
Later, he tried pulling Yang Dongqing and Jun Wushang—two transcendents—into the dreamscape, only to find it completely impossible. Their physical barriers were far too strong.
He originally thought this ability was useless. After all, why would he drag ordinary people into his dreamscape for no reason? Just to have another living person kneel and worship him as the Heavenly Emperor?
But now, after seeing Mu Cheng, he discovered the true value of this ability.
Because Mu Cheng didn't have a physical body.
All he had was Mithril Alloy and electronic components.
