I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 101: The Silver Expert Attacks
Night fell.
Draped in a black overcoat and gripping his Snakewood Cane, Su Mu left the company under the watchful eyes of the Bronze Coffin staff.
A low-profile yet luxurious black sedan idled at the entrance. Seeing Su Mu emerge, a man in black hurried to open the door and ushered him inside.
Soon, the sedan drove away.
Half an hour later, Su Mu quietly slipped out through a side door of the Bronze Coffin, his figure melting into the night.
The Su Mu from earlier was nothing more than a clone he had created using Myriad Phenomena.
Facing a cyborg with power rivaling a Silver expert, he had to make absolutely sure he was prepared. He sought excitement, not death.
Soon, Su Mu slipped into another black sedan. Behind the wheel sat a Poisonous Snake Gang subordinate he had arranged in advance.
"Drive," he said.
It did not take long for the vehicle to leave the Upper District and head straight for District 13.Su Mu admired the scenery beyond the window, watching the brightly lit Upper District fade into the distance as he turned his next plans over in his mind.
He had three things to do.
First, return to District 13 to build up his forces. His initial goal was simple: become the underground emperor of the entire Lower District.
This wasn't for the sake of enjoying power, but for money. His trip to the Upper District had taught him the sheer importance of wealth. With his current assets, even buying a single Transcendent Potion was a struggle, and Murong Mengli had ultimately footed the bill.
Second, he needed to return and set up his defenses, using the home-ground advantage to kill Mu Cheng.
Third, he had to do his best to help Murong Mengli find the Eye of Gold. The status of a noble was incredibly useful. If an illegitimate daughter possessed this much influence, the support she could provide once she took control of the Murong Family would be unimaginable.
Right as he was deep in thought, his phone rang. He answered.
"Leader, I haven't run into any danger on my end."
The caller was the subordinate who had driven away with his clone earlier.
"Understood." Su Mu hung up the phone, frowning slightly.
They hadn't targeted the clone? Had Qian Zihao not yet ordered Mu Cheng to strike? Or did the man possess some method to see through his Illusion Technique?
His clone hadn't managed to draw Mu Cheng out. Things were getting interesting.
An intrigued smile touched Su Mu's lips. Suddenly, he noticed the scenery outside the window was wrong. This wasn't the road back to District 13 at all; it led out into the desolate wilderness.
His eyes narrowed. Without a change in expression, he drew a pistol from his waist and aimed it at the back of the driver's head.
Bang!
The gun fired, but the sound was wrong. Instead of a bullet piercing a skull, there was a harsh clang, like two pieces of metal striking each other.
Where the bullet struck the back of the subordinate's head, the hair tore away, revealing a silver metallic skull underneath.
Click, clack...
Gears whirred as the subordinate's neck twisted unnaturally, rotating a full one hundred and eighty degrees to stare directly at Su Mu in the backseat.
His human face was completely gone. In its place was a silver-white metallic face resembling a skull, and where human eyes should have been, two crimson-lit prosthetic eyes now rested.
"Su Mu, you can't escape."
"Escape? I've finally caught you, Mu Cheng." Su Mu smiled. He put away his gun and leaned back against the seat, looking completely at ease.
Mu Cheng stared at the smiling Su Mu in mild surprise. "To still be smiling at death's door... you're quite the character. What a pity. Qian Zihao ordered you tortured to death, so I can't give you a quick end. Get out."
Screech! The sedan slammed on its brakes, halting in the pitch-black wilderness.
Inside the car, Su Mu didn't move a muscle.
An eerie red light flickered in Mu Cheng's eyes. "It seems you still don't understand the situation."
With that, he reached out a hand toward Su Mu.
Su Mu only smiled and shook his head. "You're wrong. The one who doesn't understand the situation is you."
Sizzle...
The sharp sound of a burning fuse rang out, and a pungent stench of gunpowder filled the air.
Mu Cheng realized something was wrong. Just as he tried to pull back—BOOM!!
A massive fireball erupted into the sky. The black sedan Su Mu was sitting in was instantly blown to pieces, and Mu Cheng was swallowed by the flames.
A moment later, a robot gleaming with a cold metallic luster walked out of the inferno. Flames still clung to his body, burning away his artificial skin inch by inch and exposing more and more of his silver metal skeleton.
"Su Mu," Mu Cheng muttered, a sadistic sneer curling onto his cold, mechanical lips. "Why can't the scum of the Lower District just obediently die?"
He strode forward, vanishing into the darkness.
...
...
Vipers Gang Headquarters.
The real Su Mu was leisurely swirling a glass of red wine, a playful smirk on his lips.
"He wasn't fooled by the clone, and instead tracked down the subordinate disguised as me. Interesting."
In truth, the Su Mu who had just been blown to pieces was also a fake. It was merely a Poisonous Snake Gang subordinate wearing his face. This wasn't a disguise technique, but a visage molded using Myriad Phenomena.
Knowing that Mu Cheng was a cyborg, Su Mu had naturally anticipated the technological tools he might possess, such as infrared imaging. Such equipment could easily detect human vital signs. Under these high-tech sensors, the effectiveness of Myriad Phenomena was greatly diminished, as it couldn't conjure up a human's body temperature.
To prevent this from happening, the real Su Mu had changed his appearance much earlier. Blending in with the Bronze Coffin employees getting off work, he had quietly slipped out of the Upper District.
"Leader, everything is set up," Zhao Chaoyao said, jogging over.
"Excellent. Prepare to welcome our guest."
Mu Cheng didn't keep Su Mu waiting long. He was only halfway through his red wine when a massive crash thundered outside!
In the courtyard of the Vipers Gang Headquarters, a cyborg covered entirely in silver alloy dropped from the sky, smashing a deep crater into the ground.
His metallic prosthetic eyes, glowing with an eerie crimson light, scanned the area. The silver alloy plating gave off a futuristic gleam, making him look like a cold, remorseless killing machine.
A swarm of men in black, armed with guns, flooded out like a tide. Without a word of nonsense, they squeezed their triggers.
Their movements were uniform, skilled, and swift, as if they had rehearsed this countless times. A dense barrage of gunfire erupted. Muzzle flashes spat from the barrels as bullets tore through the air like meteors, whistling sharply as they flew.
Yet Mu Cheng didn't so much as glance at them. He simply stepped forward, marching straight into the depths of the Poisonous Snake Gang.
The woven net of crossfire exploded against his body in bursts of sparks, yet it couldn't shake his footsteps in the slightest. The bullets couldn't even leave a scratch on his silver alloy.
"Is this what you're relying on? A bunch of Lower District trash? How laughable," Mu Cheng sneered. He casually extended his mechanical right hand with a steady, forceful motion. A cold glint flashed as his right hand folded downward, revealing a Gatling-like gun barrel at his wrist.
In a split second, the barrel began to spin at high speed, emitting a bone-chilling whir. Tongues of fire spat out like a furious dragon.
Bullets poured out like a violent storm. As the barrage swept across them, the Poisonous Snake Gang subordinates were instantly ripped to shreds.
In less than a minute, the scene was littered with severed limbs and mutilated remains. Blood flowed freely, turning the area into a living hell.
Mu Cheng strode into the Vipers Gang Headquarters, where he saw Su Mu sitting calmly in a chair in the main hall, a glass of red wine in hand.
