I Really Am A Villain

Ch. 1458 - Journey To Ancient Phoenix City

“What’s the point? Why must you force me to act?”

Xu Zimo shook his head slightly.

The monstrous creature roared furiously.

He gave a cold snort and swung his leg forward, kicking at the monster.

Don’t underestimate that kick.

From afar, Xu Zimo looked small and insignificant, while the monster stood like a mountain, towering and immense.

But when his foot came down, the entire world seemed to tremble.

The enormous creature was sent flying with a single kick.

The contrast was so shocking it terrified everyone watching.

“Th-this…” someone on the city wall stammered, speechless.

“My god, he’s a Saint Sovereign too!”

“He looks even stronger than the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign! How could our humble Ocean Sage City have two Saint Sovereigns guarding it?”

Xu Zimo ignored the exclamations and gasps from the city walls.

He only looked calmly at the black-robed man and said, “A lackey of the Heavenly Court, take off your hood.”

He didn’t even need to guess. The one controlling the Water Beasts from behind the scenes, hiding his face and identity, could only belong to the Heavenly Court.

The Heavenly Court might be powerful, but openly aiding the Water Beasts in a war against the Fire God Race was an act of treachery.

If this were exposed, the Heavenly Court would be hunted across the entire Inferno Crucible Heaven, with no place left to stand.

At Xu Zimo’s words, the black-robed figure stiffened.

He realized something was wrong.

More accurately, the situation had spiraled beyond his control.

But no matter what, he could not remove the black robe.

As long as no one had solid proof, suspicions alone meant nothing.

If he were unmasked, everything would be over.

Having made up his mind, he gave a cold snort.

“I don’t understand what you’re saying. This has nothing to do with the Heavenly Court,” he said.

“Whether it does or not, we’ll know once that robe comes off,” Xu Zimo replied coolly.

The black-robed man snorted again and turned to flee.

But the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign moved in to block him.

“It’s easy to come, but leaving? That’s not so simple,” the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign said with a faint smile.

“Damn it!” the black-robed man roared, surging forward to attack the Saint Sovereign.

Even in his rage, he didn’t lose his mind, he ordered the monster to restrain Xu Zimo.

After all, facing two Saint Sovereigns alone was impossible.

The monster bellowed and lunged at Xu Zimo.

“Can you handle him?” Xu Zimo asked the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign.

“Leave him to me,” the Saint Sovereign replied with a nod.

“Good. Then I’ll have some fun with this thing,” Xu Zimo said with a grin.

As the monster came crashing down, he darted forward and punched hard.

The contrast between man and beast was immense.

When his fist struck, the monster howled in agony, its massive body crashing down once again.

Yet the thin blue membrane covering its body still did not break.

“Interesting,” Xu Zimo murmured.

The strength of that membrane was beyond his expectations.

He clenched his fists again, the air around him roaring and cracking under the pressure.

With another thunderous blow, the monster’s enormous body collapsed to the ground once more.

This time, Xu Zimo gave it no chance to recover.

He kept punching, one blow after another, like a storm of fists raining down from the sky.

The monster was completely dazed.

At first, it could still endure his strikes. But as the punches grew stronger, heavier, and faster,

Finally, there came a sharp crack.

The protective membrane shattered.

The instant it broke, countless Water Beasts burst out from within the creature’s body.

After all, the monster was formed by the fusion of many Water Beasts.

But outside was nothing but endless sea, and for them, that meant death.

When the beasts hurled themselves toward the water, they met only destruction.

Once they were all dead, Xu Zimo turned his gaze toward the black-robed man still battling the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign in the sky.

The black-robed man had been fighting desperately, unable to gain the upper hand.

Growing more anxious by the moment, and now seeing the Water Beasts destroyed, he had lost all will to fight.

He unleashed a burst of immortal energy, forcing the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign back, then tried to flee.

But Xu Zimo would not allow it.

He threw his curved blade, Shadow Tyrant, which streaked across the air like a flash of light and slammed into the black-robed man, knocking him from the sky.

The man staggered to his feet, coughing blood, but he was not ready to surrender.

Immortal energy surged again as he ripped open the space before him, trying to escape once more.

A vast holy power rolled out, shaking heaven and earth.

Xu Zimo stepped into the air and brought his foot down hard.

The torn space collapsed instantly.

“Stay,” Xu Zimo said.

“If it’s just you, you won’t leave this place alive.”

He extended his hand, ready to tear away the man’s robe.

But suddenly, a violent force struck from nowhere.

Xu Zimo was blasted backward.

The attack had come without warning. Even Xu Zimo hadn’t sensed it in time.

All of Ocean Sage City quaked violently, almost collapsing.

From the unseen void, a giant hand appeared, seizing the black-robed man and whisking him away into the depths of space.

Xu Zimo wanted to give chase, but it was too late.

He frowned slightly, then seemed to realize something.

He pulled out the Bell of Absolute Sun, given to him by the man in the plum forest, and gave it a shake.

For a moment, the void-bound figure froze, but then recovered instantly and vanished without a trace.

Xu Zimo’s eyes narrowed. He already knew the answer.

“Should we pursue?” asked the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign.

Xu Zimo shook his head slightly. “They can’t run far. They’ll be waiting for us in Ancient Phoenix City. No need to rush, what’s meant to come will come.”

With a wave of his hand, the surrounding seas began to calm.

The Water Beasts were nearly all dead.

On the city walls, the survivors, grateful to be alive, cheered wildly.

They celebrated as though greeting their saviors.

But Xu Zimo didn’t care for that feeling.

He never wanted to be a savior. He came only to bring an end.

The only reason he saved Ocean Sage City was because the black-robed man had ties to the Heavenly Court.

If it had been anyone else, he wouldn’t have lifted a finger.

The Dragon Lord still lived, and Ocean Sage City had plenty of strength left, it didn’t need him playing the hero.

Xu Zimo turned to the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign. “Go say your farewells. I’ll be waiting at the teleportation formation.”

“You’re not coming with me?” the Saint Sovereign asked. “You helped save them too.”

“That was never my intention,” Xu Zimo replied quietly, shaking his head.

With that, he left calmly.

He went to the teleportation site.

To reach Ancient Phoenix City, he would need Ocean Sage City’s formation.

After waiting for a while, the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign arrived.

The teleportation formation lit up, and the two figures stepped into its glow, vanishing together.

Their journey to Ancient Phoenix City had begun.
