Chapter 651: Chapter 651: Don’t Wander Off

Claire Sinclair asked impatiently, "How are you going to help me?"

"I can go to The Inferno to see if he’s there for you. That’s all I can do to help." There were some matters he shouldn’t interfere with; after all, he had his own position to consider.

Claire Sinclair’s tears turned to laughter. "I just need to know if Teacher Hartwell is here. That’s enough! Thank you!"

Orion Osborne sat back down on the sofa. Seeing the smile return to her face, it was as if color had finally returned to his monochrome world.

"Claire Sinclair."

"Hm?"

"It’s nothing." As he spoke, Orion Osborne stood up and turned toward the door.

Claire Sinclair rolled her eyes. Just as he was about to reach the door, she called out to him, "Where are you going?"

"To take care of some business. Don’t wander off."

"Okay."

He was gone again.

Claire Sinclair was troubled. ’I know I shouldn’t get too involved with him, but to find Teacher Hartwell, my only option is to use my charms on him.’

’Is this going too far?’

’This is so frustrating. I’m not going to think about it. I just hope Teacher Hartwell returns safely.’

-

Orion Osborne was gone for a day with no word.

Claire Sinclair grew impatient from the waiting. She stealthily left her room and headed for the West District residential area.

Along the way, she passed through the dance floor and the casino, drawing quite a bit of attention.

Just as she was about to leave the casino, someone suddenly pulled her aside.

Claire Sinclair recognized his figure at a glance. She immediately followed him to a quiet spot and said bluntly, "I’ve already asked Orion Osborne to look for Teacher Hartwell, but he’s been gone for a day and hasn’t come back. I don’t know what’s going on."

Theo Rhodes said, "There are still nine days until the city gates open. He must still be here. Let’s wait a little longer."

Claire Sinclair looked into his eyes and couldn’t help but ask, "You’ve been here for so long. What have you been doing?"

Theo Rhodes chuckled. "Eating, drinking, and having fun, of course. I brought in five million, and now I have less than a million left from playing around. Master, this place doesn’t eat people, but it sure burns through money."

Claire Sinclair rolled her eyes at him and said irritably, "You knew this place was a money pit, yet you still threw your money into it."

"But it’s fun! Besides, if I didn’t spend money, how would I get any inside information?"

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "What have you found out?"

Theo Rhodes glanced around, afraid of being overheard. He took her hand and pulled her into his room, which was just a standard suite.

Once inside, Theo Rhodes led her into the bathroom. He even pulled up a chair for her to sit on while he sat on the toilet lid.

Claire Sinclair looked around the cramped bathroom. Even though it was spotless, talking about serious matters in a place like this felt a bit... off.

Theo Rhodes said sheepishly, "Master, I’ve looked into it. The standard rooms here all have listening devices. Only the bathrooms are clean."

Claire Sinclair immediately asked, "What about the suites in the South District?"

"No, the South District is where the big shots live. The suite you’re staying in is safe."

"Then shouldn’t we go over there to talk?"

"No need. We can just talk here for a bit. We’ll put on a show when we go out later."

Claire Sinclair thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. Tell me what you’ve found out. Just the important stuff. We can talk about the rest when we’re outside."

Theo Rhodes understood what she meant and cut to the chase. "This place has been around for at least ten years. The boss behind the scenes is supposedly a big shot with international business ties across all sorts of industries. On the surface, it’s a place for pleasure and entertainment, but in reality, their main business is selling things that are better left unknown."
