Chapter 243: The Winner Decided

The Lizard’s instincts started blaring loudly in his head, warning him that if he didn’t stop this weapon, he would die here!!

"ROARRR!!!"

The lizard roared with all his might and opened his maw, gathering a dense mass of green-coloured energy as the ground underneath it started shaking.

His whole body turned bright green as the world around him started to crumble, and all the plants around him started to wither and fade away into the dust.

This wave of destruction spread throughout the surroundings as the beast started to gather all the energy from nature, turning the whole area into a wasteland in a matter of seconds.

Seeing the wave of destruction moving towards them, Theodore hurriedly grabbed Aria and jumped backwards, leaving Raiden standing there all alone.

He knew that Raiden would be fine, but he and Aria couldn’t possibly stand against this wave of destruction unleashed by the Diamond Tier Terra Beast.

His thoughts were proven correct just a few minutes later, as the wave of destruction and withering approached where Raiden was standing.

Raiden, for his part, did not even move a single step as he stared directly at the opponent with serious eyes while rubbing Woolie’s head.

A massive crimson python appeared in front of Raiden, creating a gigantic wall of blood out of nowhere, blocking that action, please.

"Good job, Rose! You did very well. Now let’s watch your big sister Neva; she is about to end this fight for good." Raiden walked next to Rose’s gigantic silhouette before petting her head as she crouched downwards, closing her eyes in comfort.

ROARRR!!!

Hearing the brutal roar, both of them turned their heads towards the Diamond Tier Terra Beast, who opened his jaw and let out a pure, bright green beam of energy straight at the incoming sword.

A few milliseconds later, both the attacks collided.

For a moment, all movement between the Earth and Heavens stopped.

BOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!

A pure white light erupted as the attacks collided, blinding every single person present.

Raiden even felt the temporary loss of his auditory capabilities, as he could hear nothing but her high-pitched buzzing sound.

He slowly opened his eyes a second later and brought his hand to his ear, only to find a thick liquid running down from it.

He looked around, only to find himself wrapped in a thick crimson cocoon. He looked up to see Rose, who looked worse for wear, with numerous cuts covering all over her body.

Rose looked down at him with concern and tried to say something, but he was unable to hear her words- only a constant buzzing sound.

"Rose Neva!! Lift me up, what happened to Neva?!!"

Rose was apparently able to hear him, so she brought her head closer to him. Raiden quickly jumped on top of it before she lifted him up, and the sight he was greeted with completely left him flabbergasted for a while.

Instead of a plain forest, a gigantic crater was the first thing he saw. This crater was more than 500 m wide and nearly 10 m deep, and he could still hear the roars coming from it.

Before Raiden could even say anything, Rose already knew what to do. She slithered over to the edge of the crater, carrying Raiden on her head.

Very quickly, both of them reached the edge of the crater, only to find the duel still ongoing.

The first thing that came into their sights was the giant lizard. Its whole body had flesh torn apart, covered in green blood. A particularly huge gash ran across his face, gouging out his right eye completely.

The next thing that came into sight was the golden blade that was still hanging on top of his head.

The blade looked much less glorious than before, with cracks covering all of its body, but it was still pressing down on the lizard.

The lizard was on its last legs, its massive body trembling from the strain of holding up the falling blade with nothing but raw power. Its remaining eye was wide with panic, the green energy around its body flickering like a dying flame as the golden sword pressed down harder and harder, inch by inch.

Neva hovered above it all, her eight limbs spread wide like a conductor leading an orchestra of destruction. The pink mark on her back was glowing so brightly now that it looked like a second sun had appeared in the sky. Golden lines ran across her entire body, pulsing with every beat of her heart, feeding more and more power into the blade.

"Sha Sha..." Her voice was barely a whisper, but it carried through the silent valley like thunder.

Give up... or Neva will crush you.

The lizard roared in defiance.

It slammed both front claws into the ground, and green energy erupted from beneath its body like a volcano. The ground cracked and split as pillars of corrupted nature shot upward, slamming into the bottom of the golden blade.

BOOM!!

The blade shook violently.

Cracks spread across its surface like spiderwebs.

Neva’s eyes widened.

"Sha Sha!!" You still want to fight?! Fine!! Neva will show you what happens when you make her angry!!

She raised all eight limbs into the air.

The golden circles in the sky started spinning faster.

Each circle opened its rusty gates a little wider, and more golden chains snapped loose, falling into the valley below. The chains wrapped around the blade, pulling it down with even more force.

The lizard’s legs started buckling.

Its claws dug deep trenches into the ground as it tried to hold the blade back, but the weight was too much. The green energy around its body was fading, and its movements were becoming slower and slower.

"ROAAR—"

The blade slammed down.

CRASH!!!

The sound was so loud that even Raiden shook from the impact in the distance. A massive shockwave erupted outward, blowing away the remaining trees and sending clouds of dust into the sky. The ground beneath the lizard collapsed completely, creating a second, smaller crater inside the first one.

When the dust finally settled, the lizard was lying on its side, completely half-dead.
