I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl
Chapter 593 - 589 – RESONANCE OF TWO CONTINENTS, THE FIRST TRIAL, AND PREPARATIONS TO SHAKE TIANHUA
The blue-golden light pillar soaring high above the pure Mithril Altar radiated spatial vibrations that were extremely subtle yet dense. Inside the closed pavilion of the governor’s residence in Falling Star City, the absolute magical isolation shield created by Sylvia trembled slowly, containing the dimensional wave ripples so they would not leak outside and trigger panic across the entire Tianhua mainland.
Sylvia stood gracefully at the edge of the altar crater, gazing at the transparent light pillar that connected the spatial coordinates between the Tianhua Kingdom’s mainland and the Nocture laboratory more than 500,000 kilometers away. A thin spatial wind blew around her body, playing with the strands of her beautiful black hair and the silver cloak she wore.
"Stacia, how are the stability data readings from the other end?" Sylvia called calmly, glancing at the hologram glow on the bracelet on her wrist.
On the hologram screen, the figure of Stacia could be seen shifting rows of crystal-textured energy graphs with her fingers. Her golden eyes radiated the boundless pride of a genius scientist.
"Incredible, Sylvia! The conductivity of the pure mithril you planted is absorbing the wave fluctuations of the Astral Star Furnace Reactor perfectly!" Stacia exclaimed with full enthusiasm. "The energy-loss rate is below 0.01 percent! This means our spatial corridor pathway will not experience distortion or coordinate confusion when large material objects are passed through!"
"Good," Sylvia smiled in satisfaction. "But we need a real test before stepping into the construction stage of the main physical gate frame. We must first test the transfer of inanimate matter."
"A very wise suggestion, Queen," responded another voice that suddenly appeared beside Stacia. Sofia, the eight-winged Archangel dressed in the magnificent leadership gown of Nocture, stepped into the hologram camera’s view. A warm smile full of longing was carved on her beautiful face as she gazed at Sylvia from beyond the screen. "How is your condition over there, Sylvia? Is that border place making you feel comfortable?"
Seeing Sofia’s presence, the cold expression of the Demigod Queen of Death immediately melted into gentle warmth. "I’m fine, Sofia. This city has just been cleaned of corrupt officials, and Zhaoyue is busy rearranging her territory. But I miss the palace cooking of Nocture and the calm of our room."
Sofia chuckled sweetly, her clear blue eyes sparkling warmly. "In that case, let’s finish testing this gate as quickly as possible so you can return often to rest. Stacia, what material will we send as the first projection?"
Stacia took a teflon steel chest engraved with magic seals from her laboratory table. "This is a sample of Black Star Steel alloy that was just forged in the dwarf workshop of Nocture, complete with five hundred bottles of high-concentration mana recovery potions. I will place it into the Spatial Transmitter Furnace of Nocture now!"
Inside the pavilion of Falling Star City, Sylvia, Sol, and Noir stared straight at the blue light pillar above the Mithril Altar. Sol, still in the form of a tiny golden cat, sat cross-legged on the sofa while yawning widely.
’A distance of five hundred thousand kilometers... If this trial fails, that chest will be crushed into atomic dust inside the dimensional abyss of emptiness,’ Sol muttered through the telepathic bond.
’Be quiet, Sol. Stacia’s experiments never fail when Sylvia is supervising them,’ Noir replied coldly in its black-cat form, flicking its tail shortly.
Suddenly, the light pillar in the center of the room trembled powerfully. Multi-layered magic circles spun rapidly on the surface of the solidified mithril liquid. The air around it curved, emitting a low-frequency humming sound that vibrated the bones.
HUMMMMMM POP!
In a dazzling silver flash of light, the space above the altar slowly split open. A one-meter black teflon chest fell smoothly and landed without sound right in the middle of the pure Mithril Altar.
Sylvia stepped closer. With a flick of her finger, the magic seal on the teflon chest opened. Inside, five hundred glass bottles filled with golden mana potion liquid were arranged neatly without a single one cracked or broken. The temperature inside the chest also remained perfectly maintained thanks to spatial stasis during the transfer process.
"Material transfer successful one hundred percent without loss of mass or structure," Sylvia called through her Hologram Bracelet.
"Yesss!" Stacia jumped with joy behind the hologram screen, waving her hands excitedly. "One-way spatial trial successful! Now we only need to build the Main Gate Frame made of Black Star Steel so that living beings and army fleets can cross without needing individual shield protection!"
"Do your part in Nocture, Stacia. Make a gate frame fifty meters wide so our cargo ships and dragons can pass freely. I will prepare the physical support structure here," Sylvia commanded.
The next day, dawn had just broken over Falling Star City. The morning air felt fresh and clean. Sylvia left the rear pavilion, allowing Sol and Noir to wander in the grassy courtyard of the governor’s residence.
In the main hall of the residence, the First Princess Hua Zhaoyue was examining a pile of new geographic maps together with several regional military commanders. When she saw Sylvia stepping in wearing her elegant black casual gown, Zhaoyue immediately halted the meeting and welcomed her friend with a wide smile.
"Sylvia! You look very fresh this morning. Has your magic research already borne fruit?" Zhaoyue asked curiously.
"More than just results, Zhaoyue," Sylvia said, sitting on one of the carved wooden chairs in front of Zhaoyue’s desk, crossing her legs gracefully. "The first stage of my project is complete. And as I promised, this project will completely change the fate of the Southern Star Territory."
The military commanders around the table exchanged anxious yet curious glances. They were all aware of Sylvia’s tremendous power that could annihilate corrupt officials in a matter of seconds without physical contact.
Zhaoyue tilted her head, her eyes sparkling. "What project exactly are you building in the rear pavilion, Sylvia? You have never told me the details."
Sylvia smiled mysteriously. She flicked her finger, and from within her System Inventory storage space, she took out ten bottles of high-quality mana recovery potions that had been transferred from Nocture the previous day, then placed them on Zhaoyue’s work desk.
The brilliance of the golden liquid inside those pure glass bottles immediately drew the attention of the mages and military commanders in the room.
"This... the purity of this mana energy is completely insane!" exclaimed one of the veteran mage commanders in a trembling voice. "In the Holy Capital of Tianhua, a single bottle of potion with purity this high could be priced at tens of thousands of gold credits! Where did you obtain goods of this class, Miss Sylvia?!"
"That is a small sample from the logistics supply of my domain," Sylvia answered calmly. She regarded Zhaoyue with a serious gaze. "Zhaoyue, I am building an Intercontinental Teleportation Gate. An absolute spatial shortcut pathway that connects Falling Star City directly with the main headquarters of my civilization, which is more than five hundred thousand kilometers away from this mainland."
Silence.
The entire room suddenly became dead quiet. The military commanders froze, while Zhaoyue stared at Sylvia with eyes widened as if she could not believe what she had just heard.
"Five... five hundred thousand kilometers?!" Zhaoyue stood from her chair, gripping the edge of the table. "Sylvia... the distance from here to the Holy Capital alone is only ten thousand kilometers and requires days with the fastest magical vehicles! How is it possible for there to be spatial magic that can pierce a distance of half a million kilometers?!"
"For the humans on this Tianhua mainland, that may be impossible," Sylvia smiled thinly, standing and walking closer to the window that faced the city streets currently under renovation. "But for the technology and authority of my civilization, it is merely a matter of mathematical calculation and pure energy supply. When this gate is fully active in the next few days, Falling Star City will no longer be an isolated and poor border city."
Sylvia turned back toward Zhaoyue. "This city will become the largest intercontinental trade center on this mainland. All supplies of fresh food, high-level potions, Black Star Steel magical weapons, and advanced technology from Nocture will flow directly here. You will possess economic and military power that will even make Emperor Hua Chen and the Main Noble Council in the capital kneel and beg for cooperation with you."
Zhaoyue’s breathing quickened. Her heart pounded hard as she imagined the insane future being designed by her friend. She knew full well that Sylvia never lied or boasted about her abilities. If Sylvia said the gate would be finished in a few days, then the gate would truly stand.
"Sylvia... thank you," Zhaoyue whispered in a tone full of emotion and deep respect. "I... I do not know how to repay all this kindness and such a great gift to you."
"Just lead this city well and make sure no stupid princes or nobles come to disturb me while I’m enjoying spicy monster satay," Sylvia answered casually while chuckling softly.
While Zhaoyue and her commanders began designing preparation strategies to welcome the new era of intercontinental trade, far away in the Holy Capital of Tianhua, political shadows began to move. The Second Prince Hua Tianming and the Main Noble Council faction, who still could not accept the death executions of their corrupt cronies in the southern territory, started devising secret plans to send an elite investigator fleet in order to reclaim Falling Star City.
Without them realizing it, a storm of power from another civilization that surpassed their imagination was ready to welcome the arrival of anyone who dared disturb the peace of the Queen of Death.
