Chapter 463: Light

The Star Demon Mother Tree was a demonic tree, and its body was filled with demonic power. Its vitality was an unparalleled treasure to the demon race, but for Xiao Shou, a human, it could only maintain his life signs.

Even the flesh that regenerated from it was filled with demonic attributes and was incompatible with his original flesh and bones. Therefore, it could only make his body appear somewhat better on the surface. In reality, the damage to his internal organs and the wounds beneath the surface remained exactly as they had been before.

This was truly...

No wonder he could only reside within the Star Demon Mother Tree. His body was in such a ruined state that it simply could not withstand his soul.

But why had his soul returned to his body now?

For some reason, the image of the white dragon formed from condensed light-attribute spiritual particles rapidly shrinking appeared in his mind.

Could it be because of the light-attribute spiritual particles within that white dragon?

Thinking of this, Xiao Shou immediately ignored those wounds and carefully sensed the spiritual energy within his body. He was surprised to discover that a vast and dense light-attribute power was seeping into his body from outside.

This enormous and concentrated light-attribute power slowly flowed toward his heart, which had suffered the least damage among his internal organs and had been the least eroded by demonic aura. As it entered, the damage to his heart gradually began repairing itself, allowing it to slowly resume its autonomous beating while the demonic aura within it was gradually expelled.

So that was how it was.

Light attribute truly deserved to be called a sacred attribute. It was the most beneficial to the human body. Even before being refined, it could already nourish the body’s internal organs while expelling and purifying demonic aura.

What would happen after it was refined?

Having realized this, Xiao Shou, who was eager to recover from his injuries, immediately fused his soul into his Nascent Soul. He then controlled his Nascent Soul to refine the light-attribute spiritual particles that had seeped into his body using the Vitality Restoration Art.

After being transformed into pure vitality, the energy was first injected into his heart, rapidly regenerating the damaged areas and expelling and purifying the demonic aura there.

Then he continued controlling the vitality to flow toward his other internal organs, repeatedly regenerating and repairing the wounds while expelling and purifying the demonic aura.

Before he knew it, most of his internal organs had recovered, but the amount of light-attribute spiritual particles seeping in from outside was also becoming less and less.

Why were there no more light-attribute spiritual particles?

I need more light-attribute spiritual particles. More. More...

As Xiao Shou cultivated the Vitality Restoration Art, he vaguely sensed the rapid decrease in the light-attribute spiritual particles and could not help thinking this.

He did not know that the enormous white dragon touching his body outside had already been completely absorbed by him. All of its light-attribute spiritual particles had been consumed, causing the white dragon to disappear completely.

After sensing his desire for more light-attribute spiritual particles, the roots of the Star Demon Mother Tree, wrapped layer upon layer in purple radiance, pulled over another white dragon and brought the harmless part of its body close to Xiao Shou’s body.

Passive absorption and active absorption were completely different.

Previously, when Xiao Shou’s soul had not yet returned to his body, his body had absorbed the light attribute on its own. That speed was practically slower than a snail.

But after Xiao Shou’s soul returned to his body and he began using the Vitality Restoration Art to refine the light attribute into vitality, his absorption speed became as fast as lightning.

Therefore, the instant this white dragon was brought close, its enormous body immediately shrank by one-third.

The roots of the Star Demon Mother Tree hurriedly pulled over another white dragon as a replacement.

Then another.

And another.

In this manner, one after another, all ten white dragons were completely absorbed by Xiao Shou in a short period of time.

A large amount of blood and filth filled with demonic aura began oozing from Xiao Shou’s body, completely enveloping him and forming what looked like a layer of black cocoon around him.

However, Xiao Shou’s body had not been completely repaired.

He still needed more vitality to reconstruct his meridians, bones, and dantian, among other things.

Therefore, when he could no longer absorb any light attribute from the outside world, Xiao Shou, who was deeply immersed in his cultivation, unconsciously began radiating an intense desire for more and more light-attribute power.

Sensing his intense longing, the leaves of the Star Demon Mother Tree rustled incessantly.

It seemed to be responding to him, yet it also seemed to be saying something...

"The Creator needs more light!"

"More and more..."

"We must bring more to the Creator..."

"We must satisfy the Creator’s desires..."

As these thoughts spread in every direction, the six men and six women, the twelve Star Demons who had been kneeling on the ground, finally stood up.

The enormous golden-purple fruit that had remained hanging from the tree suddenly produced several loud cracking sounds. Amid dazzling golden light, several cracks finally appeared across its surface, and the connection to the branch snapped as well.

At the same time, after sensing the last white dragon disappear, the pure-white clouds in the sky began churning violently.

Suddenly, an enormous purple eye appeared at the very center of the white clouds.

Countless massive pillars of light, compressed until they had almost become solid, rapidly condensed before that enormous purple eye. They were densely packed together, all aimed at the Star Demon Mother Tree below.

From far away, the people kneeling in worship within the city saw an enormous purple eye suddenly appear in the sky.

Before the eye stood countless pure-white pillars of light. As they descended toward the enormous purple tree that had fallen from the heavens, twelve streaks of purple light suddenly shot up from the ground.
